These phones are very much similar except in OS. I'd like to know if I can use i9000 accessories for my i8700 since there's a lot more choice. I'm particulary interested in car chargers, car mounts and batteries.
Anyone tried this?

I bought 3 Samsung Galaxy Travel Desktop Docks from Amazon thinking sticking with Samsung branded would be a safe bet but I was wrong.
It's very flimsy and didn't properly register being docked most of the time or would go from registering being docked to not by the slights movement.
So I'm returning them today and looking for something that feels much more solid and less flaky without breaking the bank. I need it to also work with a S-View like case on it.
Does anyone have any desktop docks from prior devices that work well and aren't a ton of money?
Thanks!
I'm in real need of a car charger for my S5. Does anyone know where I should buy one? Or what brand to look for? Thanks!
I almost always check on Amazon first. And boom, solution. Go for the one with the fewest negative reviews. I choose plemo for its reasonable price and so far has no complaints.

I am using maxboost car charger which I bought from amazon. This is by far one of the best chargers I ve had. Very compact and powerful.
A handful negative reviews said 2.4A port does not work with S5, but mine seems to be an updated version with so called smart port, both charges S5 fine. Currently, black color is out, and white one still available.
It can be found from here: http://www.amazon.com/Smart-Port-Maxboost-4-4A-Charger/dp/B00ISGCAJM/
I also recommend the brand plemo. I bought it on Amazon and have been using it for about four months now. Really chuffed about it. Charges my S5 really fast (definitely faster than the stock charger). Also charges my other devices including the Canon camera and the GPS.
ive got a belkin usb port and it works fine on uk gs5
Hello everybody,
I recently purchased the S6 edge plus and as the titles says, I want to buy a car qi charger.
Anybody here have any experience with these types of chargers or have one to recommend?
No experience but samsung has one in their store they say is compatible. . .

Hey all,
Starting a new thread on this, since the other one is several months old.
Does anyone know of where the S5 Wireless cover can be found where it isn't over priced (i.e. $100)? I'm looking to get the feature, as my charge port is acting funny w/ a lose connection to charging cables.
If not the OEM Samsung version, does anyone know of a decent After Market version that still keeps the waterproof capability. I've seen one on Amazon that doesn't have the waterproof gasket, but no luck anywhere else.
TIA.

How about:

And, by the way, the S5 is NOT waterproof, it is water resistant, big difference...
I don't think that one is for the S5. The contacts for the battery don't match the battery pattern. Thanks for looking though.
Understood not waterproof. Just a lack of brain power to write resistant last night..
ME TOO!!!
I've been searching myself for years now, can't figure out why the hell they still cost so much, I'm still not sure I wanna pay $30 + shipping for one directly from Samsung/usa (but they aren't cheaper anywhere else!)
But anyhow... I haven't tried this myself but you could have a look getting at a Qi standard wireless receiver. I don't go on Amazon much, but there's a lot of them on Ebay.
Installed the following last week on my S5, couldn't be happier.
BestFire® Ultra-thin QI Wireless Charging Charger Receiver For Samsung (S5)

* NOTE... Images aren't for the S5. Unit shipped actually has 3 contact pins, which we need.
Fits well and seals with stock battery door. Slight center bump, but hardly noticeable especially with a protective case on. Using mine with a Samsung wireless charger.

How is the performance of the wireless charging battery cover? Did it work?
So i'm coming from an S7 Edge and waiting to receive the S10+ in ceramic black (probably March 15th as per Samsung estimate)... in the mean time i'm looking to buy a bunch of new USB-C cables (as S7 has old micro). In addition, i'm wondering if i would need a new car charger, wireless chargers etc that i have used for my S7... Is the S10 using different fast charging or wireless tech since the S7 that would require me to get new chargers in order to take full advantage? Also what would you recommend? Thanks
The chargers (wired and wireless) are all the same technology with the exception of the charging cables. In my opinion, stick with the same adapters you already have (definitely stick with Samsung charges and not any cheap knockoffs).
When it comes to cables, I would highly recommend Anker. They're pricey but I've put them through a lot of abuse and they still work perfectly and support the amperage required to fast charge the current Samsung phones.

I would do a google search with something like "the best USB-C cables" query plus, since you have other devices with microUSB look also for adapters, they have tonnes of adapters(male/female) on amazon so you can utilize the cables you already have.
After a lot of research for a good cable on my Nokia 8, I got these, better than Anker that I had previously.
