It depends on what version you are comming from - but in generally: Yes a wipe is required or strange things may happen
I have attached google apps. It must be installed seperatly.
Thank you so much for your hard work on this!
I had a problem installing the rom - don't know why, I can't think what I could have done wrong, full wipe as usual. Now the internal sd partition E: seems to be broken, I cannot mount it through cwm and can't access to the recovery I made. I tried installing the last cm9 from the external sd, it boots but then an android notification pops up with the message "encryption unsuccessful", telling me to reset the tablet.
Any hints how could I fix this? Thank you very much!

THANX FOR U WORK
Edit: Using recovery from second post worked!
In case it helps a picture of the moment it starts hanging- sorry for the bad quality!
Thanks so much, but please make the touch buttons work because, even if they're not required for ICS, they're still a good add.
I hope it won't be hard to do so.

Looks like you have used a wrong/bad recovery. Nopy is currently working on a update.zip with the new recovery.
now I'm getting "Magic value mismatch" so I think I'm one of those that his folio doesn't run anymore, even when flashing other roms. Will the new recovery fix this? or flashing a rom via fastboot could fix it?
I managed to get my Folio back after wrong recovery error.
I just flashed CWM Recovery v3.0.2.8 (which apparently includes a MBR) using fastboot.
After that, I could flash CWM recovery v5.0.2.7 and CM9-r4 2.6.32 rom.
Now I am waiting for the new recovery from nopy to use 2.6.39 build, as CWM v3.0.2.8 can't flash it (assert failed on product.device folio 100)
huh I could fix it flashing foliomod via fastboot
This is simply awesome!!!! Thank you very much!
I own both remote and docking and I'll let you know how them works when this awesomeness will be available for the masses

The mac isnt available because wifi is disabled
I'll suppose that one of these options is the one u experience
A) u turn wifi on and after a few seconds it say error
B) u turn wifi on and it auto-disable itself even before showing wireless networks or giving any error
Either one, in most cases, result from a bad flashing or the wifi files have the wrong permission, since i dont want to make u go to a goose chase after the permissions, flash the rom again but before do a full wipe (the normal + format boot + system. They are the advanced option) and fix permissions before reboot

Muito Obrigado!!!

I'll try it!!!
Hi !!
Now work the wifi...
One question?.....
can I change in the nvram.txt,(In the path system/etc/firmware) the
macaddr=00:90:4c:14:43:01 for my macadress of my phone??
Can I add too direct to the folder system/app the current apks from google(googlequicksearch.apk, voicesearch.apk, vending.apk,maps.apk,etc) ? before install...
doing so, Can the ROM works?.....
Funny thing, in the other rom someone asked about the mac address too
In theory, u can do that, i havent tryed that, mine reports the correct mac (some things in every rom are weird, different results for the same kind of phone)
about gapps, yes, u can flash those apps at the system folder but before doing that, check if u have enough free space in that folder. Use the root explorer, enter that folder and see how much free space is there ( it is written above the file listing) and compare with the size of those apps. The rom just needs 10mb of free space in system to boot without any problems. Download the gapps zip for gingerbread and paste them inside the app folder of that zip and flash it. This way, if u want the updated versions of those, u can place them in the zip and flash, the new ones will replace the old ones. Just remember to fix permissions before reboot.
And yes u can flash them after flashing the rom, it wont affect boot just the time it needs to start the 1st time. Will take a minute (give or take) more to boot (more apps mean more time to write the dalvik cache, but it will only do that the 1st boot)

respect to fastboot
What is it for? can you teach me more about ?... forgive my ignorance.....
I just know to install the ROM's and clockwordmod ...
by the way, I installed the CWM 5.5.0.4 of $anek011
Update
I have to install all updates or just the latest?

Nice...no problems so far.
I want to try this rom but I need a few answers to my questions.
1) Can I flash CM10.1 rom on top of this rom, IF (a big if) I'm not satisfied with it?
2) Can I use faux kernel with this rom? I'm a fan of his kernel.
3) During flashing, is sdcard content wiped? I have use 20 GB now and I can't connect my N7 to PC because of MTP issue. The only way to backup my sdcard is by using USB OTG and it took ages (!) to finish copying all that stuff.
4) Does this rom have expanded desktop feature like PA rom?
5) Does it support USB OTG (without the need for Stickmount or other app)?
6) Do I have to flash another recovery than what I have now, which is CWM Touch recovery 6.0.2.3 for tilapia?
7) What features or functionality is not working or not available? I was told that this rom support WiFi tethering, which is the feature I need most. I was wondering if there's any missing features that stock 4.2.1 have but this rom don't have.
8) How does this rom handles update? Do I check for update in CM OTA app (if there is such feature in CM rom and this rom) or do I wait for new build to be uploaded here and flash in recovery? If the former is true, then it will overwrite the rom files, is it not? I am afraid that jumping back and forth between this rom and CM will make it unstable and other weird things (reboot or whatnot)
If you think of my post as super noob, then please refrain from replying. Just ignore it (as mentioned in OP). If you indeed want to help, feel free to reply.

All OK temasek, 5stars for you !
Can you add the link for the latest gapps?
p.s. Please temasek can you add the tile for data toggle in fast setting panel?
It's important to me in Italy we use ever 3g connection because there isn't much WiFi access points.
Ty

1. Yes
2. Idk yet. I'm using motley kernel Atm. But if faux says it's for cm10.1 then it's ok.
3. No. If you already on cm10.1 then flash without wiping over this kang build. But if you are on stock ROM then u need to wipe data in cwm recovery.
4. Yes. I submitted the overlay to cm gerrit & it was approved & merged.
5. I've not tested otg yet. So Idk Atm.
6. No. Cwm 6.0.2.3 is good.
7. So far I found nothing is missing from stock. CM adds more features to stock ROM. I've submitted the wifi tethering commit to cm gerrit awaiting review but it is in my build.
8. CM updater is for official builds not for my kang build. Follow me in twitter or follow this thread for new kang builds.
U can move from cm official builds to my builds, vice versa....anytime. Will not corrupt anything.
This is a nexus device & being a nexus device means great stability even in cm.
Btw I use Airdroid in Play Store to transfer files between my phone & my pc. It's a great piece of app.

Airdroid is great, but for pure transfer of files I use X-link from the store. At least for my usage.....not to mention it works between devices and computers.

I'm new to N73G. If I wipe data will the complete storage/emulate/0 be wiped or will e.g. my navigation maps and my titanium backup stay safe? Haven't got a firm grasp of the concept - without external sd - yet.

Stock recovery, wipe data = bye bye all internal including your own stuffs in /data/media which is your user space.
Cwm recovery, wipe data = all internal wipe but your /data/media is safe. The....emulated/0 is in /data/media so it is definitely safe.

I'm sorry if this is a bit off topic, but what about TWRP? Will it wipe everything in internal including data/media?

AFAIK no.
Custom recovery will never wipe user space when choosing wipe /data, if not all will jump up their seats and start a rebellion!

Big thanks to @eybee1970 for the first flash
To @Chenglu for guide in dtbTool + support in fixing mount usb storage
To TeamWin for the primitive device tree
To @wanam for his help in compiling kernels
Reserved
Info:
Kernel compiled from sources update3
No sensors flashing: fast boot in recovery
Root allowed
Selinux enforced mode preserved
Built in NTFS/Exfat kernel module support for fast backups
Recovery: based on cm-11.0 kitkat branch
More info:
At worst, it would bootloop and you have to know how to get out of a bootloop, that's it
But you're still warned: Read Post 1

Great your here! Best recovery option! Now can you get some of your buddies to push us an aosp rom??

First, someone has to flash it so that we debug it
The risks are a boot hand so you need odin to flash another recovery
Either selinux missing permissions I will add later or needed graphics.c
Waiting for feedback
Yay \(^o^)/
I've been waiting for you Phil

Nice to see this ramping-up :good:
Obvious warning that should be added to the top post - like every single custom (non-Samsung) recovery so far, this is also tripping the Knox flag.

Backup to extsdcard (fat) OK : Time 20min
Backup usb otg OK : Time 10 min
don't try format
boot in recovery speed time seem to be the same as normal cwm
time/date : in cwm I had 23h29 instead of 14h32 (I'm in france), in backup name the date is false (01_01_1970)
aromafm feature not working.
i have /aromafm/aromafm.zip in the clockworkmod folder on internal storage and sdcard...
Philz touch can´t found this folder...
"now clockworkmod/aromafm/aromafm.zip in storage paths"
i started aromafm.zip via install zip -> Choose zip from /sdcard -> clockworkmod -> aromafm -> aromafm.zip and this work it...
go in the sdcard folder ... -> empty! no data found on internal storage...
external storage is this problem too.

I can't check, I'm on mac. Try with virtual machine without success but it's not a good test.
Find an old flashdrive to try some format :
vfat : OK
extfat : OK on windows (VM), not on mac (ask to initialise the disc)
ntfs : OK
Don't have the driver to test the other.
