Method 3 only require the recoveryblob (don't worry about firmware blob)
Click on where it say (mirror), or here's a working link for the recoveryblob

Just use this thread, it's method 3 in a post by itself so it won't be as confusing.

Tnx..I have v20e bin (18.01.2012.),and I wanted to patch this rom,but never mind,I'll wait
I guess you can't patch 20e using pandaball's instruction
the construction of the 20e and 20b is not the same.
I'm trying to root the 20e now.

The threads I found on xda only provide steps on rooting the phone on stock ICS rom. Any ideas on rooting the phone running on 2.3.6? I am running on b888 and superoneclick does not work.
Have you tried the link from this forum..

its a german website and you will need to download 2 files.. recovery.img for cwm and rootingpac.zip..
once on the website, look for option 13... (use google translate to navigate)

Yes, this is for unlocked and rooted, you must be on stock rom first (JB .23) before apply this update. Don't do the upgrade with custom rom. Here is how to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803090
And suppose you're on a custom rom?

If you're running cromi rom, just wait for a new version, should be release very shortly. If you are on others, you need to reflash full stock .23 then fastboot twrp then flash the upgrade or wait for the rom owner to release the upgrade version.
Thank you very much jkvato

Question : I'm unlock, root, TWRP 2.3.3.0 Recovery and under stock JB 10.4.4.23.
I want to update to stock .25, does the "dlpkgfile" update method works despite the custom recovery ?

Extremely new to this so please bare with me. Recently got the new Samsung S8+ from ATT. Android version 7.0, and model number SM-G955U. I have done a bit of research trying to find a guide on how to root a S8+ that's the same model as mine. I haven't been able to find a straight forward guide explaining how to. If not too much to ask, does anyone have a link to a guide that I could follow, or even if it's possible. Thank you,
there are 2 ways of rooting the phone

You could also try this, but you also have to use a modified Odin the guy links on page 2. I don't know if it works or not.

Of course
I searched and found sampwnd roots all the variants but when I got to Odin and use their files it didn't work is it because I'm on lq1 version ????
Does this root stick even if I upgrade my T-Mobile S8+ (SM-G955U) to Android 8.0 or later?
Same problem here, i wanted to know since i have the "bql1" for att does this firmware "U1_Firm_QG2_System_Img" works for me ?
