Before you install CM9: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)
Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.
Install
Use CWM5 or CWM6.
For flashing with Odin: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5 | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.tar.md5 (Needs AriesVE.ops)
For using dd command to flash: recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.zip | recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ariesve.zip
Warning: Only use this recovery to flash CM9. Otherwise, you risk bricking your phone!
Wipe data and cache.
Flash update*.zip.
Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM9 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
Reboot phone.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM9 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM9 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

But I look this topic every day maybe it has the camera working... Now, in this state I won't install it (but I really want it!!!) but when you say the camera is working perfectly, I will immediatly install this rom!
And thanks again for your works!
alpha2 is a new build from today or it's your latest one from 30th april ?
1000 big thanks for your great efforts!
In what stage is camera development?
Yeah, what about the camera ? in the last topic there were some posts with some of the other camera HALS (or how they are called) from other devices.
If somebody is interesting to know more about HAL - Hardware Abstraction Layer.
Thank you SO much for your hard work!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's built today.
About the camera and as I've said before, I'm not a coder, so a working camera heavily depends on the help from others, or from implementations from other devices that might work for this phone. So far, none have done that.

HOWTO:
#############
1. Enable swap(extra virtual memory) file - mini HOWTO
1. Create 512MB hidden file for swap(all steps on phone - adb or Terminal emulator, as Root):
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/sdcard/.swap bs=1024 count=524288
2. Make swap file system
Code:
mkswap /mnt/sdcard/.swap
3. Switch on swap file:
Code:
swapon /mnt/sdcard/.swap
4. Check that swap is on:
Code:
free -m
5. Add to /system/etc/fstab - DON'T sure that will works but you can try - BACKUP FIRST!!!:
Code:
/mnt/sdcard/.swap swap swap defaults 0 0
You need kernel with swap memory enabled, my kernel have this option on, Arco's and Vitaliy i'm not sure, you have to check it out because i'm using only my kernel.
If point 6 will works you will have permanent swap on if not only till next reboot. It is only experiment and only for swap file. If somebody would like to have swap partition have to creat swap partition on EXT sdcard and make different row in fstab.
If you have swap file on your internal memory you can do trick like that:
1. Creat file:
Code:
/system/etc/init.d/97swapfile
2. Paste this inside:
Code:
#!/system/xbin/sh
swapon /mnt/sdcard/.swap
3. Check after reboot that swap is working, in terminal emulator:
Code:
free -m
As you can see system is using SWAP:
Code:
[email protected]:/ # free -m

[B][COLOR=Navy]Swap[/COLOR][/B][COLOR=Navy]:____________523824__________[/COLOR][B][COLOR=Red]0[/COLOR][/B][COLOR=Navy]__523824[/COLOR]
After few minutes:

What do you mean under 'I can not unlock the screen' ? If you press the power button, the display will light and a padlock and swipe that padlock to right. Or if it doesn't works, than your port is not working I think. But good to see new ports!! Keep up the good work, because more ports mean more possibility to choose from. (Is camera working in your port?)

The system starts up, it shows the unlockscreen or start the configurator, but does not respond to touch. This is the first compilation so it can still be a lot of errors.

There is an option to unlock by the menu key. Try to add that by default if you can't open settings(not sure which file this is in so can't help you there) and see if you can unlock the phone that way.

Tried flashing this using Ext4 recovery and got an error and later it said its fixed by itself. Then it asked for INT2EXT option I selected yes and the phone froze.
I removed the battery after a minute or two and re-started. It was only booting into fastboot what so ever. I had to force boot into recovery only to flash another ROM
Pls fix.

1- of course I won't mention the upstream updates, it's pretty obvious that I sync before building with my commits
2- I don't earn a cent from CM, just got a few bucks thanks to kind people here at XDA, If I was selfish enough I would just focus on improving my apps or making new ones to earn money
NOTE WITH LOVE FOR KANGERS:
3- you are free to kang my work and fool noobs that you fixed X or Y without even referencing the original commit (which is what noobs do) cause I don't give a fvck anymore, real devs know how to track build commits, keep commit history, maintain commit authorship and add credits. This is like dream came true! Very appreciated this guys!
However, the bug concerns me.. I'll let NFC and IR pass.. But can you explain a bit more about RIL? It's radio right? Does mobile network and wifi works on this? Again, this is a very good step to the right direction!

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Samsung GT-S7562 CyanogenMod 11.0 Android 4.4.4
Unofficial Release
I proudly present my first Android related work.
The GT-S7560M has a similar hardware except the dual-SIM RIL, so the kylessopen firmware (thanks to jonypx09 and others) was a good initial source.
I reverse engineered the stock Java Radio Interface Layer, and based on that informations, I restructured the kylessopen’s sources.
Finally with my custom telephony-common, telephony-msim java layer, and with the stock rild, and libril*.so binaries, the GSM connection works.
Important: This is an unofficial release. If you find a bug, please send a feedback in this thread.
If you have a problem with the installation, write it down in the Q&A thread.
Compatibility:
S7562, S7562L supported.
S7562_C_, S7562_i_ are not supported. Don't flash on it, otherwise you will brick your phone.

About Google Apps, and GService Bug
Fixed with all releases after rc3. For reference see below
Latest gapps (ver. 7.x) has issues, and eat our baterry, so I recommend to install the package that I linked, disable autoupdate in Gapps, and disable GPlay's CheckWifiAndAutoUpdate service with DisableService (from Play Store).
If your Gservices app updated to the version 7.x, you can easily downgrade to 6.x
(you can do this, if you installed my linked package or earlier):
Settings-->Security-->Device Administrators-->Uncheck "Android Device Manager"
Settings-->Apps-->Google Services-->Disable-->Yes, you want to remove updated version

Hey
Hi, Thanks. just wanted to know if one sim card works or 2 are required??
You Nailed it bro! @m4jonez
YES! 100% Verified that we get network on both (you can insert single as well) .
However that the rom is a bit laggy (much better than one would expect from a first build).
Yes there are bugs ! but yeah! there is network too..
Where should we report the bugs bro @m4jones? I found some.
1 network on indian modem is super duper unstable.. so change op and recomended people to flash your modem file.
With your modem , i found the sim networks to be quite stable.
2 torch app is useless as neither app nor widget works. So fix it or remove it
( CAMERA WORKING FINE FOR ME)
COngrats and all the best ! continue your good work

Post it here.
minor problem here:
Signal strength is reported wrong for both sims.
Always shows full strength.
Recognition seems to be working as values are changing but they are much too high. Around 2000dBm.
Phone calls in/out SMS and data rock stable on both sims for me.
Performance is good(better than expected).
Zram is not working init.rc entries(or script) are missing. Maybe a kernel problem too idk ATM.
Thanks @m4jonez you're great!!!!!
