Hi,
I'm totally new to this and I just got the Sensation 4G, how do I go about installing this? Thanks.
Go to the link above and download the .apk file. With a file explorer, go to the file and click it. It will give you two options. Choose the one to open in market or as app. Then just click install and it should be done.
Btw, works like a charm. Thanks!

when i try to install it, it tells me its a system file and asks if i want to replace it or cancel. when i hit ok then install it says application not installed.
I dont see the option to open in the market. I dont use es file explorer usually astro. any recomendations?
That's odd. You can use Astros. After you click on the file, choose open app manager. There should be an install button on the top left. Once clicked, it should just install. Sorry, I didn't get the system file message.

I was having the same problem. I just downloaded the apk on my computer, put it on my sd card, and installed it through Astro File Manager. That should work.
If you can't install it try the version I have attached. Instalation is done via Root Explorer - copy the apk from sdcard, go to /system/app. delete HTCCamera.apk and HTCCamera.odex, paste new camera apk, set permissions to rw- r-- r-- and try to install.
Camera works, but shutter button is misaligned, selecting HDR or burst in scene menu causes FC, HDR and macro is doing nothing (I think). Panorama works.
Downloaded the apk for non-rooted devices and installed using root explorer and works just great. Thanks for the share!
Thanks for the share!!! Wors great on my end
Works perfectly for me too! Thanks.
Installed it..... but this gets installed as a seperate software, and it doesnot replaces the stock camera app or it doesnt show in the scenes mode in the stock camera app.
Is this happening only with me????

Hello!
is there any way to remove the music app?
I'm using POWER-AMP...
I don't like that I cannot put my music in sub-folders this is why I want to remove it , also I don't like that when I want to select a ringtone it's lead my to MIUI music app...
Thanks!
With root explore u should be able to remove it. Under system/app.

if you install the stock music app after having removed miui music, the stock one will behave as a 3rd party app on miui rom.

I really like MIUI rom but now I get the feeling of an iPhone OS all over again...
I just flashed Rebel rom and its amazing. But I just hate the sony launcher. so, can I just download the blur home from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23730009&posted=1#post23730009 and just throw it in system/app to get the moto home back?
I havent tried it but you can always try making a nandroid backup and flashing the CWM on boot just in case you get in a bootloop and that way you can go restore just your system....make sure you set permissions to rw and I recommend root explorer vs es explorer.

Just do not delete the Ericson home unless the moto blur home does work. Let me kniw asap if it does work. I dont think youll have many issues but then again im not a dev so proceed with caution.

I'm iffy on whether or not to do it or not without a devs approval. And I am far too lazy at the moment to flash CWM on boot. (I am typing this in between BFBC2 games) so I may do that later or not. I just want to see if I have approval to move it from my root to system/app
Ok, I just copied my blurhome.apk to system/app and nothing happened. I then went to settings>apps>all apps>and cleared the default on my launcher, hit my home button, choose home and everything worked flawlessly.....
It even has the ics launcher icons.....
Edit: Rebooted the phone and everything seems slick and smooth with motohome ics themed on rebel ROM beta 2....

To the other guy
"What is VM?"
VM is the ability to listen to messages approximately 10-15 seconds faster than using traditional VM. This results is savings me about 2-5 minutes per month which makes it worth while to pay the $2.99 fee for the Verizon service
EDIT:
From the looks of the file, it appears to be an APK. Any reason why you renamed it as a zip? -Also the APK failed to install. Any idea why? I tried zipaligning again just in case, but it wouldn't zipalign.
hmmm
not sure why that happened
rename it to .apk
then
Use a file explorer with root access and drop it in /system/app/, set perms to rw-r--r-- and reboot

You shouldn't try to 'install it'
by copying it to system/app and changing permissions it IS installed

Any other ideas how to make it show up?

Bump. Having the same problem
How is the Verizon visual VM? Been wondering if it is worth using.
Ever use Google maps to navigate? Then receive an important text message, or feel like switching pandora tracks? THen go back to Google Maps only to see you have missed your exit/turn because your GPS was reallocating and getting a lock?
Well i have xD
So I modded it.
Here is what it does,
Once you launch Google Maps, it will lock on your location. Now, if you click a notification, or press the HOME button, you will STILL have a GPS lock. No matter what app you are in, as long as Google Maps is a background process, it will always have your lock.
Now, what if you got to where you are going and want to leave google maps? Just press the BACK button all the way until Google Maps exits, and so will the GPS lock. Simply ey?
To install:
Download attached apk. Get it onto your device, remove all other versions of Google Maps (Whether system or play store installed) then using a file manager, browse to the downloaded apk, and click it to install. Then enjoy
Hope you like it and get as much use out of it as i do! Be sure to hit thanks or better yet donate! I LOVE FOOD!
DOWNLOAD: Google Maps v6.14.3 Background Lock

Try downloading to a desktop, then attaching the APK to a Gmail which you have addressed to yourself. Uninstall your current version of Maps, then open the e-mail you have sent to yourself, and click the attachment. It will download and install, no need for using a file manager. I usually just find this easier, because it is quicker for me than to pull up the directory in File Manager, find the file, install......just a suggestion. That is my super lazy way when I do not feel like enabling Bluetooth or using a USB, plus the added bonus of having a copy of the APK to hand anytime you need it.

You should always leave GPS on. It's only being used when an app calls for it. So yes it should be on before using the maps.
