For some reason, no one in the Galaxy forum has answered this...but I was wondering if any of you have contemplated leaving your Xoom goodiness for a Galaxy Tab 2, and if so, what are your reasons...
or maybe it's just becuase it looks so new and shiny...I don't know...
no plans to leave my xoom, but the transformer infinity looks interesting.
i do love my xoom - wouldn't swap it for a galaxy tab 2 but maybe the asus infinity - im keeping my eye on that device for now

So I'm getting ready to dump my ipad. I personally have narrowed it down to the Acer iconia a500 and the Asus transformer. I was also maybe considering the galaxy tab 7 plus cause I like the idea of a smaller more portable tablet. What are my fellow Atrix users rocking in the tablet space?! Suggestions and comments welcome. I've been researching all day. I'd also like to be fairly certain that what I buy will get ics and/or has an unlocked bootloader. Thanks!

EDIT:
Was waay late last night when I somehow surfed to this page. I was the one confused about threads, my bad. Android Central posted a "Will my tablet get ICS?" Maybe that helps.
Wherever it belongs; I'd like to hear peoples thoughts too. Although I want to get a new motorbike before I splurge on a tablet... so I probably wont purchase for at least another 6 months.
All the same... Thoughts?
i have samsung tab 10.1 and its great
I have a transformer and it's really awesome Asus updates it really fast and there is a lot yo can do with it as well as it being cheaper then all other 10.1' tabs
Now I I don't know much about honeycomb. But it isn't all that from what I've read. The Acer has a tft screen and the transformer has an ips screen (Technically better) i think. my issue with the galaxy tabs is their adapters that are needed. Very ipad like in my opinion.

The galaxy tab 8.9 LTE is very different from it's brothers, the 3G/Wifi 8.9 and the 10.1. It is more similar to the skyrocket. Da_G, a dev here, has worked out the root for the device and he doesn't even have one. Reason I am asking is because we need some more developers over there who actually own the device, and it seems like the logical transition would be from skyrocket development.
Thanks.

Honestly, I was planning on buying the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, and getting the OG SGS II, since I already have the Skyrocket.
How is the tab? Is it good?
I considered it for a while, but I already have a tablet and all the people who I could have given the tablet to I knew wouldn't use it, and to me it didn't make sense to spend more money to get what I really wanted for free. Overall though it sounded like a good deal.
I did get tablet with my skyrocket and give as gift on christmas to one of my nephew since i have two iPads.
is that a special offer from ATT?
nevermind. Saw it on ATT's site.
Yes it is .....
tablet is nice, better than the old galaxy 8.9 and 10.1 with the 1.5 ghz chip and lte capabilities.
I got two for free...WITHOUT buying a tablet
/bragging
I was attempting to upgrade our phones to refurbished galaxy s2's that were on sale for $9.99 via ATT premier. The guy was nice enough to offer me a new one for the same price (week of christmas and I had already had a lot of trouble with ATT). I pushed my luck a little and asked if I could get "the other variant" of the S2 - the skyrocket. He said sure.
I wonder how hard it would be to modify a 727 rom to work on the 957...

since there's no forum for them yet, and it may help our devs, even with sensors/camera if we're lucky.

Seriously... The tab 2 just came out and there's source codes already. I'm literally about to post this p6200 up for sale, this is bs.

i saw this news at engadget .. i pretty sad that they released the source code for new Tab 2 7.0 but not for Tab Plus ....
tab plus Honeycomb 3.2 source has been out for months.
I would expect them to release ICS source if/when then release 4.0.x to us.
Honestly, I'd rather have this ics source than 3.2 anyways... Honeycomb has always been a bit of a joke... I was almost regretting picking my tab plus over the gingerbread HTC flyer.
Edit: And since the tab plus update is live in Canada, maybe they'll release it to after they bring it to the US?

Im pretty frustrated with this also.. If the source code doesnt come out for galaxy tab plus 7 im going to completely stop purchasing any samsung type product that comes avaliable in the future...
The lack of an hdmi out port and usb port without an adapter capability is one thing but this.... really starting to piss me off.
Gotta buy an adapter for everything now they develop products newer not as good but run newer operating systems come on!

I'm kinda regretting getting mine as well, my next purchase will probably NOT be a Samsung device.
hi i am a samsung boy. i admit. samsung D780, samsung s8000 jet, samsung S8300 Ultra touch, samsung i8510 innov8, samsung i8910 omnia HD, samsung wave S8500, samsung note N7000 and now samsung galaxy s3 i9300.... i have never owned a tablet.

Go for infinity. Its the best android tablet out there. Root it to fix the io problems and i would say there is 98% chance it will get JB. 100% shure it will get JB by flashing custom rom from xda.

Yes, he means the TF700T Infinity -- I would not buy a Prime now. A small but more or less clear percentage of Prime units carries issues you'll tear out your hair for, and the price will be the same. You'll get a terrific HD screen in return, and not-so-much-impacted battery life compared to the TF201.

Yes i mean the infinity, the prime was the 1st tablet to get ics followed by Motorola Xoom so infinity will most likely get jelly bean in early September

Hello i ordered a galaxy note 2 from amazon but it is on backorder now. My question is are there any galaxy note 2 owners here? I was looking at the Tab 2 @ my local office depot & was wandering should i have just kept my GS3 & got me a Tab 2 since they're kinda close to the same size (The note 2 & Tab 2). Anyone here have the note 2 & the Tab 2???

I have the note 2 and am getting the Tab 7 P3100. so I can SIM swap and use the larger TAb as a phone on trips. No sense in buying the WifFi only American version so I am getting the International version to match the note and stay on ATT dumb phone plan with a Tablet. I would never get rid of the Note 2 as a phone. In fact if Samsung comes out with a 6" screen on the Note I will not use both.
I have a note 2 and had a tab 2. Tab 2 is okay but if you have a gs3 there is no point. Now the note 2 is the best tab I have ever owned.

Had a note 2, stunning phone. Saw the tab 2 p3100, thought" perfect tablet size& it has a phone". Purchased one, flashed jelly bean to it, and stuck my note 2 on eBay!
I use this with headphones and its my perfect all in one device.
The screen and memory aren't as good as the note 2, but jelly bean makes such a difference in performance.
CES is in January, and MWC in February. Samsung will definitely up their game in the 7 inch tablet market considering the kindle fire HD and the nexus 7!. So for me its a no brained as the tablet version with the phone capabilities is loads cheaper than the note 2!!

Which means both My Note II and Tab 7 will be replaced by one device...... I cannot take even a 7" tablet everywhere. A 6.3" phone with minimum bezel is pocketable.
Just picked up the Note 2. While I can see my tablet use dropping now, I'm sure it won't disappear. There are times where a tablet is just easier to use, such as reading a book. The battery also lasts a long time in my Tablet, pretty much regardless of usage. I've heard the Note 2 is a beast when it comes to battery life, but I haven't been able to experience it first hand yet. It'd be nice to only have one device, but I doubt that will happen.
I have a note 2 and recently got a tab 2 albeit the 10.1...
The tab is going in the car.
I think anything bigger than the note 2 won't be usable as a daily device/phone
