My phone is randomly rebooting for no reason it did it twice yesterday and this morning when the alarm I set went off it rebooted but got stuck on the beats bootup screen I woke this morning my phone felt like a hot iron. Has anyone had the same issues with this rom?

You know what, the same thing been happening to me for the last 4 dayswhich means the version b4 3.6.0 was doing it too. Yesterday was the 3rd time it did it... maybe we should post this on the ARHD thread instead of here tho
I've been trying out different versions of Android Revolution HD and they both gave me the same results screen over heats the battery over heats and the phone reboots randomly. so i decided to try a different rom i installed
Virtuous Sensation XE v.2.1.0 this morning and so far my phone has been working great no problems yet. the battery stays cool the screen is not heating up and no rebooting as of yet so i think i'm sticking with this rom if you haven't tried it i recommend you do. Here's the thread.

Hi,
The usual reason for random reboots is an incompatible mod or add-on.
Also,if you have upgraded from an earlier ROM and not done a Superwipe.
Or maybe using Titanium Backup to restore "SYSTEM DATA" from an older ROM using a different base.
It's probably kernel related, try to lower your overclock to 1.2Ghz in Daemon Controller or try another kernel, if so try Unity, I did resolved my bootloops issue with those.
Don't forget to remove virtuous_oc files if you decide to change kernel. See attachment for exact file name.
Hello. I have the same problem when I'm hit the home button, restarts suddenly. Will be the same problem, about the software?. Or may be hardware... I'm so worry because is new (only one month of use) and I bought it in Canada but I Live in Costa Rica

did you update the firmware to 3.24? sense 3.6 roms are supposed to be upgraded with this firmware
Try a different radio. Some radio may result in rebooting. You just need to flash a stable radio or flash the radio by the instruction given by who release it. I know that some radio may cause reboot problem without correct installation.

I am getting the random reboots and I am not sure the explanations given so far have answered the problem. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8013ZWYXAR and I installed Revolution HD 9.0 to a clean machine without issues. I don't think the rebooting issue is from incompatibility unless the Rom is incompatible with the devices it was created for as I have the system rebooting after rebooting with seconds of the first reboot. So if it is an incompatibility issue it is because the Rom is incompatible with the phones or tablets that the Rom was made for. I have a clean system with just the Revolution HD Rom and the files supplied and it still reboots. As far as the over heating goes I am not sure that is really the issue also as both the screen and the back are not hot in any way when it reboots.

Hello people.
Since I got my sensation I have been trying a bunch of 3.5 roms, mostly Virtuous 3.0.0 beta and ARHD 4.1.5.
It seems that somehow, after I install all of my apps (~250) I start to get bootloops. Phone boots normally, loads sense, but after a minute or two it just reboots. Sometimes it even shows a "process system is not responding error" but tapping on "wait" does nothing. This happens even if I underclock to 1.18GHz and in ARHD has also happened with just 30 apps installed, just after I set up a bunch of HTC widgets on my homescreens!
I know most of the times bootloops have to do with kernel. In ARHD I tried both the stock kernel, the latest faux beta and the bricked kernel. With no luck.
Now, to make sure that the bootloop wasn't caused by one of my apps, I did the following: I split my apps onto three "sets". a) bought from market (around 70), b) free from market (around 120) and c) saved .apk's (around 50). Yesterday after flashing Virtuous, I spend around 6 hours installing them in random order (a/b/c, c/a/b etc) and rebooting multiple times between them, as to eliminate any potential apps. While at first it seemed ok, after having all of them installed I started having bootloops again.
Weird thing is, the first two or three reboots went on normally before I started getting loops again.
I'm using Radio 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2 with corresponding RIL.
Battery does not get hot, around 31-32c on boot and gradually becomes cooler.
Any ideas on what else to try and troubleshoot next? Radio possibly?
I highly doubt it has to do with the number of apps I have installed... could it be that my phone can't handle sense 3.5 roms for some reason? :/
ps: I'm NOT dissing those roms! I'm just reporting weird behavior on my handset
edit: I just flashed stock 2.3.5 kernel on Virtuous and tried again, seems to be fine for now. I'm gonna try a couple of more manual reboots, even try InsertCoin for the last time if it fails and then go for a 2.3.4 Sense 3.0 Rom :/
edit2: still no luck, bootloop after a couple successful reboots :/

Hi,
How are you installing all of your apps?
Are you ,by any chance ,using Titanium Backup to restore the data?
And if so ,are you restoring any system apps or data?
Restoring system data from an old ROM to a new ROM has been shown to cause problems.
Nope, thought that would be the case at first and tried downloading them from market/installing them through ES, same result :/
Edit: what bothers me is that even tough the first couple of reboots are stable, usually the third or fourth result in a bootloop and or a "process system is not responding" error. Like something is being written or I don't know what at those first boots which causes the erros and bootloops afterwards.
Could this be attributed to my phone not being able to "handle" the leaked 2.3.5 rom?
I had the same issues on my Desire HD with some 2.3.5/Sense 3.5 roms, however once I flashed a 2.3.4/Sense 3.0 one bootloops stopped.
Hi sensation forum...
I am new to sensation, but not new to android or HTC, as i have 4 different phones with custom firmware on them...
But the sensation give me a lot of problems for some reason...
I have tried ARHD 5.0.2 and Insert Coin 4.0.4, i have also tried Virtuous Inquisition v1.3.0 and HyperSensation CM7.1 v1.2.
The last one is not even ICS based...
All of them give me random reboot cycles...
I have tried 3 different radios also...
Nothing have helped me so far...
I still have a lot of random reboots...
(about every 2-10 min)
When i flash the firmware i use ARHD´s super delete script, but to be shure, i also format everything from within Recovery...
What more can i do here ??
Pleace,if your phone is stable, can you tell me exactly what rom/radio/kernal/ril you use...
My phone was rock stable with factory firmware....
Hey,
When installing roms on the sensation, make sure you follow the guides in the particular thread. It is also important to match recommended radios and rils that go with the specific rom. Make sure you are S-off and cid 11111111. When you are switching roms, you should only have to run the superwipe script, it will set all the partitions for you so that you can flash the rom you choose. Also, before you install ICS, it is recommended that you superwipe BEFORE installing the actual rom to prevent unwanted isssues. Before you do anything else, give me a rundown on what you are currently running.

I have exactly this issue.
I installed ICS Revolution. I had successfully got S-OFF, Installed ClockWork Recovery (updated to latest version), permanently Rooted & obtained SuperCID. I updated radio as recommnded by mike1986 in the ICS post, and wiped the phone with Revolution Super_wipe_Sensation first.
It seemed to run fine apart from Doplhin HD which refused to run properly (so switched to Opera Mobile). However I started to get random reboots.
After a bit I thought to try Insert Coin ICS instead.
I have noticed no real difference in performance and have the identical issue with Dophin HD (back to Opera mobile again).
However I also still have the identical random rebooting issue with this ROM. What else can I do?

I did that with Revolution as well as with Insert Coin this time around. Running the latest version
I'm having the same issue. Did a text book install of AHRD. Everything went super smoothly, but getting these reboots. I have tried to swipe everything, have the latest radio and recommended fw and keep getting these crashes. Not only it's driving me nuts but it makes the phone unuseable... I can't believe we're just 2 to have these problems... Isn't there some king of log we can pull to see what's causing the crash ?

I suspect it has to do with processor speed that's been tweaked in these roms, but can't seem to find a way to tune it back to stock on the ICS rom...
sorry for the late reply, been busy with holiday stuff.. anyhow, make sure you are NOT installing any mods that are not compatible with the current ICS build. I have had no problems switching between ARHD 3.6.10 and ICS 5.0.2. As long as you have s-off and CID 1111111, you should be good to go. When I changed up from 3.6.10 to ICS 5.0.2, I turned off my phone, went into bootloader, selected the option for recovery, then flashed the superwipe script. After it finished flashing that, it rebooted back into recovery. Following that, I went to install from zip, flashed the updated RUU, cleared cache and dalvik, then flashed ICS 5.0.1 and the 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 update. Everything installed smooth from there.

That's exactly what I did. Can't find anything different between your story and what's I did, up to when I switched to Insert Coin
I also don't think it's related to CPU speed. My phone is the XE model which ran at 1.5 Ghz on stock ROM and only did about 3 random reboots in 3 months; (now it's every couple of hours).

Good luck. Hope it helps. Let us know the outcome. My nandroid backup is corrupted so will need to do full wipe of my SD card and phone I think. Then add in a stock ROM

I'm still getting the reboot on the nand backup (OrangeFR), this sucks big time. Now I'm thinking it may be due to the fw I had to install to use AHRD (PG58IMG) and the new radio. This is where I'm lost. How can I return everything to standard ? If I understand well the ROM doesn't contain those files, they are separate ?
Was thinking that my random reboots were radio or firmware related.
Strange thing is mine have stopped, and all I did was reinstall revolution ICS 5.0.1 then upgrade to 5.0.2. Didn't even wipe first. So even my apps & settings all of which I had installed & configured since I had installed Insert Coin ICS, are all still there. Haven't had a reboot since.

I switched back to ARHD 3.6.9, did a factory reset+wipe, flashed radio 10.59 and all is fine, I'm somehow reluctant to try again...
I found a solution that worked for me... At last...
I am REALLY sorry that i didn´t answer here before, but i have been really bussy, and actually forgot all about it a few days....
NOW, i also thought that i had some CPU spped issue with the roms, becource i can actually get the same kind of reboot problems on my DHD when i run it over 1500 Mhz...
So i thought that i would lock my sensation to max 900 mhz, and then see what happens... NO change... Still random reboot... Strange...
I then installed a Android 2.3 rom, just to get my phone running again... STILL random reboots...
hmmm....
Now i was confused...
At last i tried to flash a different radio one more time...
I found a radio in some other sensation thread... Flashed it and now my phone works stable...
At least with Virtuos Inquisition 1.3.0... (Proberbly the 1.4.0 will also work, but i have not tried it yet...)
The Radio i had the problems with is the one from mike´s thread...
I actually don´t know why, as i have allways had great success with his roms and his releases on my DHD...
The Radio i use now is 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035-02_2...
But sorry, i can´t remember from what thread...
Ok, this is what i have discovered on this reboot issue...
I hope it make some sense, and that this perhaps can help other with the same problems...
Try turning your phone to recovery.Backup if you havent already....Wipe Data/Factory reset then turn the phone off....
Remove the back cover and the SDCARD.Turn the phone back on and see if it runs ok without the SDCARD, if it does reformat the sd using 4ext recovery and it will also align it.
I spoke too soon.
My phone didn't reboot for a day after I switched back to Revolution ICS 5.0.2 for about a day, then today it began doing random reboots every few minutes. I had not changed any software, just the area (which might have changed signal and frequency the cell tower uses). So I figured it was time to change firmware and radio.
I had previously (prior to installing custom ICS ROM) flashed the radio to 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2 as recommended by Mike1986 in the Revolution HD ICS thread, and had HBoot 1.7.1111 on my device.
I then downloaded the firmware he posted on his thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618
This has put the phone back to HBOOT 1.20.0000 and radio 11.15.3504.16_M
Now it's working well and no reboots yet.
Here's hoping.. time will tell.
No matter what radio or Rom combo I get random ass reboots
Super annoying. I did notice the battery goes from 100% to 10% during this reboot
I have calibrated battey. Wiped stats. I'm lost.
I have even tried a new battery. Wtf. Any ideas?
i cant even flash stock ruu I get a 171 error!!!!
Im gonna throw this phone at the f-ing wall in a min
if you flashed newest radio 11...x.x..., you have to have newest hboot also (1.20.. , i guess). otherwise, you will get random reboot. I had this issue before, and i just flashed order radio( i don't want to update hboot version). problem is solved

That's certainly consistent with my experience.
Since the changes I made as per my previous post, I've not had a single random reboot

I'm on 2.20 hboot 1.14 and have my hox unlocked and rooted
However, I've been running into a problem where my phone will freeze on an incoming call when i try to answer it from the lockscreen. It just continues to ring and sometimes just reboots.
I've tried multiple combinations of roms (cleanrom 5.1, viper, etc.) and kernels (elemental 2.1,3.0, beast mode, and even stock...w/without s/w) but still run into the same issue.
I always do clean installs and flash the boot img before installing the roms but no dice.
The only rom/kernel combination that seems to work are Nocturnal Dirty'd w/nocturnal kernel and Calkulin's One XL v1.2 /w beast 4.2 that he included.
Any help would be appreciated. ty.

I was curious about that as well. I would get calls from random numbers and sometimes it would freeze causing me to have to hard reset. I have no problems like that on AOKP.
