Phone book dialer annoyance - HTC Sensation

Using stock rom. Tapping the phone button at the bottom brings up the list of calls, dialed and received. Tap one accidently and instantly hit "End call" button. Phone does not hang up, but completes dialing with "End call" button changed to green "Call" button and disconnects in about 30 seconds.
This is quite frustrating when you dial the phone number you did not intend and only able to hang up after 30-35 seconds.

bringing call history after clicking phone button

on my treo, if i hit phone button, it brings up a call history immediately. How can I do that for the tp? I have to hit phone button, then the keypad pops up, then i click "Call History". Would be convenient if I can pull call history first then choose keypad if needed.

[Q] Phone won't hang up - No red button

I have a Rogers Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE. Rooted but otherwise stock.
I've read a couple of posts where people say the phone doesn't hang up when pressing the RED button. My problem is different.
When I make a call if I stay on the call screen, I don't have the problem, I can hang up when done.
When I make a call and wander away from the call screen, either hitting home or task manager and switching tasks, when I come back to the phone to hang up (by pressing the green phone icon, bottom left) the screen I'm returned to is different, and doesn't have the RED hangup button.
Basically instead of having the in-call screen (Add call, keypad, end call, speaker, mute and headset buttons) it has the ready-to-call screen (numbers, Green dial, yellow email and back arrow).
I try everything to get back to that screen, but the only way I can hang up is to power off the phone. Rather serious. Help please.

If you navigate away from the call screen, then you have to pull down the notification bar and press Phone. This will bring you back to that previous call screen.

Declining calls when removing from pocket

Almost without fail whenever I receive an incoming call, the action of pulling the phone out of my pocket slides the "Decline" button and I reject the call. Occasionally it slides "Answer" but neither are desirable since I just end up hitting "End Call" thinking I'm hitting "Answer". Is there an app to replace the stock M8 app that handles calls so it it a button press instead of slide. Any other suggestions would be appreciated as well.

Incoming call question

incoming call can be answered without me doing swipe to go to Home screen.
I accept the call and want to be ready to type say 1 during the call. But my screen is going off not letting me to click on keypad icon. Had to press power button several times to be able finally click on keypad icon.
Can I configure s10e to NOT going off during an accepted call when it's not on Home screen?

Prevent dial-pad from displaying?

When I place a call, I have like 1-2 seconds to press the speakerphone button before the dial-pad slides up over the button. That's way too short of a time and causes me to have to click the "X" to close the dial-pad, so I can see the speakerphone button then press it.
Very bad UI - there is plenty of room to display the dialpad and commonly used functions like the speakerphone, etc.
So, is there any mod/setting that would prevent the keypad from automatically covering all the other buttons behind it after 1-2 seconds of a call connect?

Click to collapse
Dial pad does not (re)appear uncommanded on my stock device. Something else is triggering this behavior.
I think I know what happened...
If I dial a "contact", then the dialpad does not automatically pop-up.
But if the dialpad is showing, and I tap and hold on the "1" key to call my voice mail, the dialpad will disappear, then the options buttons appear (including the speakerphone button), but as soon as my phone connects to voicemail, it pops-up the dial pad and covers up the speakerphone button.
I can sort of understand why it might be doing this (because you'll probably need the dialpad to interact with voicemail), but often I like to listen to my voicemail on speakerphone, and just a 1-2 second window to tap the speakerphone button before the dial-pad appears is not enough time.
