has anyone else noticed that the in-call volume is really loud, even at the lowest level? I have mine turned all the way down, but i can almost hear the speaker buzz because the volume is so boomy.
If anyone else has this issue, does anyone have a fix?
I admit that the sound volume is a b it high at times... but then again the HOS has really great audio for the size of the speakers...
It is loud on ocassion, like speaker phone is on
I find the speaker audio tinny/hollow--but acceptable
However, should be better for a cutting edge 600.00 phone with highly advertised beats audio and media monster--

Got the Captivate yesterday. I love almost everything about it so far - just two issues.
First, when playing videos or music, the sound seems very low even with the volume maxed out. I thought maybe putting headphones in would help. So I got my Klipsch ear buds and started watching a copy of Up. I would say that with the volume maxed out at 15, it was a comfortable listening level. I feel as though it should be louder. Does anyone else seem to be experiencing this problem. ** And now the more that I play with it, it seems as though most audible notifications are pretty low. I did increase the volume for everything under Settings. The only thing I found to be too loud was the sound for key presses and what not.
Second, when I'm on a call the ear-piece seems to vibrate, or buzz. It's strange and difficult to describe. It's almost tin-can sounding?
Am I the only one with these issues? Perhaps it's a minor defect in my unit. Thoughts or comments?
Well the ear piece problem seems to have gone. However I still think the multimedia volume is very low. Does anyone else seem to experience this?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Mine seems fine for listening to audio and watching video. You could re-encode the video files with the audio boosted.
What kind of headphones are you using. I'm using iem headphones and the media output was too loud. I had to make a custom EQ with all the sliders turned down to make the volume reasonable.
I am using Klipsch ear buds. Like I said, when the volume is maxed out, it's a comfortable listening level. The same goes for music. Sometimes I like to listen to that a bit louder. I wonder what the issue could be...
I would try a demo phone at the store mine is very loud. It hurts my ears on the lowest setting.
I've noticed that listening to any music or certain audio frequencies at 75% or higher external speaker volume become very distorted, like it's pushing the speaker past it's limits. I've tested this with another friend's S6 and his is the same way. Easiest way to tell is raising the ringer volume and hearing a distinct high pitch with the volume adjust sound. Dunno how else to describe it.
Disregard this post. Because of the junk speaker, horrible LTE and wifi reception, and terrible battery life this phone went back.
Volume through the speaker and ear piece are extremely low compared to the stock phone. Unable to make calls with ear piece as I cant even hear the other person. and speaker volume while playing media is extremely low and quality is very poor. Sound Quality used to be the best feature of this phone, now only sound through earphones is Good. anyone else experiencing this ?
Even I have observed the same since the first update. I am thinking to downgrade and going back to stock.
Which version is good?
just out of curiosity, is the sabre dac enabled in this??
Today I've bought Sony MDR WF-XB700's and sound quality is great but I feel like the maximum volume is too low for me, I listen to music loudly and these I think are normal for most of the people but I feel like bass could punch a lot harder but I just can't turn up the volume that high. I've tried the disable absolute volume for bluetooth and tried increasing the gain from viper4android (rooted) but it just clips the sound, I'm looking for anything even rooted solutions, thanks. Phone is LG G7.
Really is this problem that bad that no one knows how to solve? I'll end up returning them in the last it seems like.
Using AirPod Pros with the OP6 has, at least in my case, been frustrating because of very low volume. Indoors, it's OK, but when I'm outside, it's a struggle to hear what I'm listening to at times. ElementalX kernel allows me to boost volume for the speaker and a plugin earphone, but it doesn't do anything for Bluetooth. V4A helps a little, but not enough, even with playback gain control and the equalizer jacked up.
One solution is to go back to my corded earphones. The above items work great there.
Any ideas for increasing volume with bluetooth earbuds?
