android market on generic tablet - General Questions and Answers

trying to get android market to work on a Ramos W17PRO
I have managed to get it to load by installing
GoogleLoginService.apk and Vending.apk
When it opens I get 'Server error'
I tried Market Enabler but the device is not pre-rooted
My question is, how do I root this device or get the market working?

seems Gmail will not install either
Just get a 'application not installed' message

Hi.
You just need to go on Ramos site _(it's Chinese I'll suggest to visit through Google translator )
Search for 'w17pro' and download :
- Google application (include major Google apps like market )
- calendar sync (needed for calendar synchronization capacity )
I also suggested to upgrade to last firmware available wich include interesting improvement and omiss the China applications (that's are not usable for me )

Manually install Google Playstore?

I bought my Huawei G520 direct from China and forgot Chinese dont like Google so no Google apps!!!!!
I just want Google Playstore & G+ app installing
I managed to root my phone but not been able to flash anything (too complicated)
Anyway, after playing around for weeks I managed to install Google manually by using Root Explorer & adding:
OneTime Initializer.apk
GoogleLoginService.apk
Google Services Framework.apk
Setup Wizard.apk
Gmail.apk
directly into my root\systems\apps folder
Restart my phone - login to Gmail & voila - totally googled and able to install any/all other google apps normally e.g.
Google playstore (sometimes called Phonesky.apk)
G+
ContactSyncAdaptor
CalendarSyncAdaptor
Chrome
Play movies
Google music
Anyway - I done this few times previously without issue - but recently messed up my camera and tried it again and it fails:
Same as always - reset my phone - rooted - Used Root Explorer and added:
OneTime Initializer.apk
GoogleLoginService.apk
Google Services Framework.apk
Setup Wizard.apk
Gmail.apk
directly into root\systems\apps folder
...and this is where it seems to fail - reboot the phone and get "Gmail has stopped working" and cant login
this has never been a problem before
Anybody make sense of this stuff and how I'm going to get Google apps (namely Playstore & G+) working on my Chinese mobile?
Is just 'copying' an apk file to system enough or should i still run them? - dunno - used to work fine - now it doesn't

[Q] How to install Google Play Store in UBISLATE 7C+ Tablet (4.2.2) ?

Dear Friends,
1st of all, I apologize if I posted this question in a wrong category. I am new to this forum.
I bought a UBISLATE 7C+ Tablet
Model: DW-UBT7CE+
Android Version: 4.2.2
Linux Kernel: 3.4.39 (20140523)
Full specification -
valid.canardpc.com/a/bu67z6
I think it is already Rooted.
When I try to install the Google Play Store using APK file from apkmirror.com or mobogenie.com, it gets downloaded.
Then it asks to update the Google Play Service, when it gets downloaded and installed, as soon it gets executed, it shows error message - " Google Play Service Stopped working".... everytime.
Same thing happens with updating Google Maps.
Same thing happens with installing YouTube App.
My primary requirement is to install the YouTube App and updated Google Maps app.
Please suggest what to do?

So what are you doing. You are installing the wrong version of the apk which may be incompatible. With your device, it may cause damage to the phone
I recommend you to download the apk from the play store since it has the apk made for your device
Hit thanks if helped

is it possible to install GAPPS without a custom recovery?

I have 2 devices (Xiaomi Mi TV 2S 48" and a Xiaomi Mi TV 3 60") and I am having trouble getting GAPPS to install.
I do not have access to a custom recovery and the automated methods I do find fail for me at some stage or other. The odd time I can get it installed, it won't let me access my account.
One time I was able to get it all installed, but then the play store updated and showed a "this version of the Play store is not compatible with your device. Please uninstall updates" (or something similar to that). Uninstalling updates claimed to succeed, but wouldn't actually uninstall.
Factory reset later, I'm stumped. My current plan is:
1 - download PICO GAPPS for the Android version of my device
2 - Extract it to an SD card
3 - install the APK's
4 - move the APK's via terminal emulator to make them system (for the ones that require that permission)
5 - copy the lib files over from the zip
6 - cross fingers and reboot
Now, I am thinking that this should work, but I also don't know much about how the "flash zip" stuff works so I may be opening up a world of pain for myself. Plus side if I kill the android board, I can get a replacement for a lot cheaper than a new TV.
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section; I did not see a section for "Xiaomi other" or "Xiaomi TV".
Anybody have any experience installing GAPPS manually from a stock ROM?
EDIT: So I did figure this out. There is a tool known as "Google Installer" that will install all of the google tools (and dependancies) including google play. After installing that, you just make google play store a system app and the play store works great.
Bad news - with the latest version of the play store, it will do a check on your device if it should be using the default play store or the leanback version (guessing the check is done by the device name in your account, but I have not verified this). Google installer installs an older version of the regular play store and it will auto-update. If your device requires Leanback and you don't have the leanback version installed, your play store will fail to start indicating you should uninstall updates.

[How To] Installing Play Services on Chinese Honor 9

It seems that the Google Installer that actually work was pulled out from HiApp,
Using other installer like v 4.4.2 from Meizu, or v2, the one that circulate a lot wont work on this phone,
So here's the download link for GMS Installer that will install the Play services properly through recovery
https://yadi.sk/d/LqIsfrqs3Kbz2L
Simply install the app, and press the "One Click Install" and let it auto reboot
Tested & Work on latest B136
Hi, just bought Honor 9 Chinese version. I have 1 question. Is he phone need to be root? Or I can just simply install the apk you provided after turning my phone on the first time? Thank you in advance.

No need to root

Hi folks, you can refer to my previous Google Play installation experience for Honor 6x with EMUI4 and EMUI5.
I've just bought the Honor 9 in China and can't get this to work. When I try to install the GMS Installer it tells me "The parser did not find any certificates in the installation package." Googling this phrase made me none the wiser.
It then suggests I get the official version from HiApp, but there is of course no official version. I'm on the STF-AL10 model, build B175, EMUI 5.1, Android 7.0

There has been some progress, but not really. I've managed to install the following:
Google Account Manager
Google Calendar Sync
Google Contacts Sync
Google Play Services
Google Play Store
Google Services Framework
But still when I try to open Play Store it tells me to install core GMS packages I was under the impression that Play Services was the same as GMS?

Yes its the same.
You need to update your play services n play store to latest version first,
Download it from apkmirror
Using a chinese version of the GMSInstaller solved it for me. If you have the same problem ie can't install GMSInstaller with error about missing certificates, or error after installation about missing GMS core despite it being installed, try this version of the GMSInstaller:
https://m.box.com/shared_item/https://app.box.com/s/gpuf526astq1omfrqgy6u77fe1qysjj9
It's the very same file but with a Chinese name for all I can tell. Same size, looks, version number etc. But for some reason the only one my phone would accept.

Hi,
I previously installed google services successfully using GMSinstaller when I first got my Honor 9 in August.
Now it is upgraded to B201 and because it always crashes when it comes to google play, I ran GMSinstaller again which asked me to uninstall every google related apps.
I did so but now it is impossible to install google again
GMS installer will only propose me to uninstall previously installed google apps, then reboot.
I tried several "Google Installer" none of them are working.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

i have Nova 2s too.
just download the GMS Installer from the link given by thread starter, and then install it, open the app, and then press the install button and let it reboot, and voila!
you can check if there's an app called Google Play Services installed in your apps list.
next step is download this list from APKMirror.com :
- ConfigUpdater
- Data Transfer Tool
- Google Backup Transport
- Google Calendar Sync
- Android Services Library
- Android Shared Library
- Market Feedback Agent
- Google One Time Init
- Google Partnet Setup
- Google Services Framework
- Google Play Store
make sure to download the version which specific for your android version.
install all of that and reboot, and you're device will ready to go!
if i use this gms installer on my chinese honor 9 (STF-AL10), can i update the phone on later date? (ex. for emui / android os / security updates)

Can't install apps

First of alll.....sorry for any spelling mistakes (my English is not great)
I have a Lenovo pad TB3-x70f android 6.0
Sinds a month or 2 i can't open apps. Ik get the message:
Failure to initialize! Youre hardware does not support this Application, sorry
I tried also to download and install the apps APK from other places then Google Play but most of the time that also does not work.
Any tips??
In general, every APP does have its supported device list. You had better download APP from Play Store as it will match apps for your device automatically.
Thnx, but i can download and install Them in the Google play store. But after install i get the error. Sometimes IT helps tot download a apk from another site. Most of the apps i can't install
