$49.99 Success Stories - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hey All,
Just wondering if anyone has had any success getting a price match from other retailers (ATT, Best Buy etc) on the $49.99 price advertised last week through Amazon and Radioshack. I ask because I tried today with Best Buy after a user posted a receipt image indicating that he was able to get a Best Buy in FLA to sell it for 49.99. I really want this phone and the cheaper the better. Thoughts?

Dude read the thread three threads down.....
killing is my business, And business is good.

I went to two Best Buy's with a copy of that receipt and they both said that the employee who did the price match was making an error. They only match advertised price. Radio shack never advertised $50, it was a pricing error. Plus even if they did have a special pre-order price, that advertising ended when the device released on the 6th, and now all places are advertising $200.
The guy in florida got lucky with a dumb bestbuy employee (who will probably get in a lot of trouble)

I missed the Amazon sale, but Amazon matched the RadioShack price. $50 shipped w/ no tax. WINNING!
Billy

That was my receipt
So much win

I got AT&T to match Radioshack's $149.99 deal.

The best I managed was my local Best Buy matching Amazon.

I got the original Amazon deal when they matched RS's $50. I wish I bought two then =*(

actually that thread is about people who got a $50 HOX from radioshack. This thread is about people who had success in getting that price honored at other places. Next time try and read both threads. would help you not look so rude/ like a jerk.

ATT matched my price, I called support and mentioned I was worried about loosing my unlimited data and the rep said he could match.

My exact sentiments. I'm going to keep trying to get it for less even though it is probably futile.

least expensive way to purchase the TB

What is the least expensive way to purchase the Thunderbolt? I've heard someone mention "phatwallet"? Is that the least expensive route that anyone has found? If so, I'll be ordering tonight.
Its fatwallet.com which you can use to get $25 off wirefly.com to bring it to $175. I did that
do you think best buy will price match the wirefly price?
currently fatwallet then wirefly is the best way.
another way would be talking to a verizon employee, they can impose almost any amount of discount. I was just at the store and even though they are still oblivious to any information regarding the tbolt and if he does have any info, it is most likely wrong, he gave me this discount because he quote unquote couldn't wave this other fee i had prior. so take it as you will, but imma try to squeeze more out of him since I was unable to get the phone form wirefly since i can't renew my contract until june, and i may lose out on the unlimited 4g.

hell no. they wont even price match their original price they showed on the ad.
I've gotten tv's price matched to online sites for more than a 100$ difference...idk i'll try it out on Thursday cause i pre-ordered it and if it doesnt work i'll end up keeping the gift card to use on something else and get it from wirefly...they are usually pretty good about it tho in my experience
I may end up doing this, but I'm going to add a line, wait 30 days and pay the ETF of $350. Ill pay $600, but not $750
It may also be worth to wait and see what Amazon does. Sometimes their phones are cheaper than wirefly.
looks like i was wrong about best buy. they posted up their price online at 250. looks like they were forced too since verizon themselves are selling at 250. I hate you california tax!!!!
i did the wirefly $200 w/ fatwallet $25 cashback preorder last night
you also get a 4GB micro sd card with fatwallet's cashback link, note thats in addition to the 32gb one thatll come with the phone
Cheapest way to buy the HTC Thunderbolt
Wait 4 days and the buy it for $475 cash without a contact on EBay.
Just found it on AmazonWireless
Phone 1: HTC ThunderBolt 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)$ 749.99List Price: Remove $ 179.99Price:
In Stock. Usually ships in 24 hours
http://wireless.amazon.com/HTC-ThunderBolt-Android-Verizon-Wireless/dp/B004M5HB6U/ref=sh_br_ph_1
wirefly is still cheaper. 199-25 for the fatwallet cashback. 175 total
plus using the coupon code you get a free 4gb card
The amazon link is great as I have gift certificates. However, is anyone else having issues choosing a text plan greater than the 500 message plan?
update: sorry for being quick on the trigger. I overlooked the $59 text and talk plan.
I have the Xoom and for some reason its eligible for an upgrade which I can transfer to another line. I am going to transfer the upgrade to my fascinate and then call to cancel the month to month dataplan on my Xoom. Hopefully then I will be able to upgrade to the Thunderbolt for $250.
amazon?
How does Amazon Wireless work? Do they ship the phone unactivated and then we contact verizon to activate and extend contract? They mention the instant carrier discount or something. Seems like a great deal as we have no sales tax on Amazon in NC.
I looked up the $25 coupon code on fat wallet, and clicked through the link to place my order. I also punched in the coupon code they listed for the 4th card, but nowhere on the order screen did it actually show a $25 cash back. Am I missing something?
Edit: Turns out they don't actually discount the order. You receive a rebate check from fatwallet directly.
Is the damn thing showing up on Verizon's site for anyone on the east coast yet? Or any coast for that matter? They said midnight EST. Argh!

I am trying to add lines to a family plan and that is something that does not work> I called them this morning and they said no go. Too bad. Next I'll call Verizon and see what they say.
anyone's wirefly order ship yet?
I went to my local best buy and they price matched Amazonwireless.com's $180 price. Which works perfectly cause Amazon is on back order.

Costco G2x now $99, Plus get your $50 refunded if bought already

Costco manager here again to save you loot.
We have coupon in store deal on the G2x for new or upgrade customers. Now just $99 with free car kit and travel holster.
Plus if you are like me and bought it at $149,99 at Costco within 90 days you are given any lower price in cash back. So go to Memership counter with or without reciet and they will give you your $50.00 in cash back with no issue!
Ice.
that sounds awesome. Will give it a try
Where do I pick up the coupon and how long is the deal going to last?
If I was to buy at Costco, would I be able to easily swap it out if I had bad screen bleed? Because I know they have (or at least had) a good return policy. Is it 90 days for phones? Any stipulations?

Yes, you can switch out for any reason in that 90 days! No quetions asked. In fact the policy is that you take out your sim card and pack up phone. They just verify its all there and refund in cash. They give you choice of same or different phone. YOu only have 14 days though to cancel contract all together. The 90 days if for the phone.

two way, a coupon book is mailed to all Costco Customers. Or simply grab one at membership. There are always tons of them.
Its the sale. I think this one is 2 weeks starting yesterday.

I checked my most recent coupon book and this is the one I found. A single coupon for the following: up $250 off the G2x, up to $150 off the Droid 2 Global and up to $30 off the Infuse 4G. Is this the coupon you're referring to?
I bought mine online last week. Can I still get $50 back?
This is only for the people who bought it there correct?

The price shows 79.99 if you bought it online from Wireless Advocates through Costco's website
http://membershipwireless.com/index...nternal/utm_medium/feature/utm_campaign/haven
I'm going there today to get my price adjustment. I bought it for 149.99 on 4/20. Hopefully its 79.99 at the Wireless Advocates kiosk inside Costco. If it's $99.99 there, thats still good and I wont complain about $50 off.
I just spoke with Wireless Advocates representative on the phone, and she basically told me that I can't get the $50 off if I go to the Kiosk inside Costco. I'm mad since this phone is less than a week old.
I bought one for $80..nice deal for sure. I had returned my original to t-mobile.
Is it also $99 for people eligible for a 2-year upgrade?
Just came back from Costco. Its 79.99 at the Costco cellphone kiosk if you are getting a new contract. Upgrades or renewals are 99.99. I just got my $50 credit adjustment back to my American Express.
Don't go directly to the customer service/refund section of Costco. They need an item number code from the kiosk. Go to the kiosk directly and get it there. Again if you signed up at Costco on a new contract your new price will be $79.99. If it was an upgrade then its 99.99.
Sale prices end 5/17!!!
No coupon is needed for these sale prices. Always bring your receipt always because it will be faster for you.
m918v did you buy it online or from the kiosk inside the Costco?
to clarify
so - you are saying that with a costco membership, we can get the phone with out a contract for $300?
How much is a membership to costco?

Oh yeah if you just bought the phone there without a contract the price went from 399 to 300 (call the kiosk to verify). No coupon is needed for these sale prices. Always bring your receipt always because it will be faster for you.

Uh, wasn't it already proven in the other Costco thread that you have to jump through some MAJOR hoops to get phones off-contract from Costco?
Has anyone here walked out of Costco with a $300 phone without signing up or extending a contract?
Yeah scrap that, Costco wont sell you a contract free phone. I just called and they said they wont do that at any Costco location. I thought the price was $300 because that was the new price the Costco employee rang up before the discounts for a new price of $99.
Sorry for the confusion.

Where do you suggest I get my sensation at?

I'm getting one this week, possibly today or tomorrow. Max I want to spend is $170 including activation. Where should I go? I was at walmart and saw it for 150 but I figured that they were charge extra for activation plus taxes etc. Where did you guys get your sensation deals at?

I got mine on Friday at Walmart for $148 + tax. It came out to around $160-something. They also charge an $18 upgrade fee to your next bill. It's by far the cheapest you're going to get it anywhere. The next best place would be through amazon. Just know that I had to call 9 different Walmart's before I found one that actually had them in stock.
I paid 100 from the tmobile store. Got one for me and one for my fiancee at that price. Find a good sales person and bargain with them. I also got 40% off accessories for it and they covered 2 breaking contract fees from verizon.
How you guy guys bargain with them? Sorry, not used to bargaining with a store, usually haggle with deals on craigslist and stuff lol.

OFFICIAL from Best Buy, Selling TouchPad at $99 Tomorrow!!!

Will be available online and in-stores! Get your tents people!!!
http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Points-Policies-Reward/HP-TouchPad-FAQs/m-p/315434/thread-id/3887
They sold out in my area within 20 minutes of "reshelving" them. All three stores in the city.
Some Best Buys began selling them already (around 8pm Saturday night where I live). I got one of the last ones at my local Best Buy before they sold out. I would advise getting there really early if you want to pick one up...
Thankfully I talked to someone I know at a local BB and they said they had a "good amount" and they weren't selling any tonight (even to employees).
Even better is the fact that its only 1 per customer.... no stupid horders ordering 8 or 10 just to resell for a fraction of a profit.

Where is your BB?
1 per customer isn't going to stop those who want more (to sell) unfortunately. They'll bring their entire family and friends..
no need for tents sold out. When I read about the price drop lastnight on engadget (around 8pm). I rushed to two bestbuy stores near my place. The first one i went to removed them from shelves for return to HP. The second bestbuy had over 30 of them on the shelf. Bought 3 (would have bought more if I had money), thinking theyll do a refund on price difference if they will sell it 99/149 tomorrow. Around 11pm the new BB touchpad policy popped out in the internet. I was angry and frustrated. I've searched online, all sold out. In the morning I callled all retailers near my place. Sold out. Angry at myself for going bestbuy. Around 7pm, I read online that bestbuy will reduce price and new FAQ from BB states that they will refund difference for any touchpad bought after june 19. Happy and excited. Called a few bestbuy, each with different things to say: we won't refund difference, will be on sale tomorrow but were sold out now (huh?), call hp for a refund on difference (hp don't have my money....hello). This was going nowhere, hopeless. Finally, I called a BB that's 19miles away. Lady I spoke told me they are sold out and that they were sold for 99/149. I asked her if they will do price difference for the touchpads I bought lastnight. With verification from her superiors, she told me that they will honor it. Drove there right away. Got my money back. Hehe. Now I'm a happy camper.

Anyone having luck finiding this watch?

I messed up and didnt order one at release, now im wanting it pretty bad.
Anyone having luck finding it in the US? I have read reports from several people that some 3rd party vendors that are shipping from Korea are shipping out international version ( no samsung pay, right? ) so I'd like to avoid that.
Frys Electronics shows it available for shipping first week of Jan.
Id prefer to go through Best buy or amazon, anyone have some insider info on them? Customer support has zero info.
thank you!

I was able to find it at Best Buy.
I had the same problem. Couldn't find it anywhere, finally I took a chance, and went to craigslist, saw one going for $200 no box, I asked the guy if the charger came with it, he said yes. I took the chance, went for it, and it's just the watch, with the charger, (no cable or power block) but for $200 it's not bad. I factory reset it before I did anything, so far so good, everything works, Samsung pay works.
Best buy
None of the best buys in my area or anaheim, ca or las vegas have them in stock. The best my local best buy was able to do for me is give me a 10% off coupon ad they couldn't even let me place an order to secure the 299 price.
Been keeping an eye on Craigslist too, thank you guys!

I usually check nowinstock.net for email notifications when they come in stock at Best Buy, amazon or B&H.
https://www.nowinstock.net/electronics/smartwatches/samsung/
It actually looks like its in stock at best buy currently with free 2 day shipping: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-gear-s3-frontier-smartwatch-46mm-dark-grey/5647800.p
Aww snap! Thanks for that! I was at bestbuy not less then 2 hours ago and they were showing none. Anywhere. Ordering!
I Also got mine from Bestbuy about a week ago, but they were out of all the Bluetooth only editions. I ended up convincing them to sell me an ATT version for the same price and I'm just using it as Bluetooth only. Seems they are out of stock just about everywhere..
I ended up getting two shipped out. One came in today and the bezel clinks quite a bit. Going to see how it compares to the one arriving tomorrow.
Found one under my Christmas Tree. :good:
I just bought one today from my local Best Buy. No Best Buy locally had them until yesterday. Per the manager I bought mine from, they had a shipment of them come in yesterday. They only got 4. There was only 1 not ordered online that was available for anyone to walk in and buy. They didn't have a demo unit on the floor.
AT&T has a special if you upgrade a line, you can get the S3 for 50 bucks...just did it myself. Doesn't have to be the Flagship, either...any Galaxy phone.
Just walked into my local best buy today and they had one left. It was $350 though. They said they will price match until the 15th of January so hoping it goes on sale! Either that or Verizon announces they are getting a LTE model and I'm returning this one asap
Picked one up, the last one, at my local Best Buy. It was $350 but I was able to use a one time 10% discount. Came out to $337. A few bucks more than with tax on the sale price. Ordered from Samsung 3 weeks now and still no updates. Cancelled that order.
whoever is looking, I use this site to stalk the stock of the main website/stores to find most things and the watch was one of them. It even says at this exact moment amazon has them in stock
https://www.nowinstock.net/electronics/smartwatches/samsung/
None of my Best buys stores in the Bay area has it in stock. Starting hitting craigslist and picked one up for $220, like new in box with all accessories and the receipt from Amazon. Can't express how much more comfortable this is compared to my S2.
They have alot in the Fort Worth Texas areas

Man i have had the same luck with Samsung. I ordered during the christmas sale and its been weeks. Aholes haven't shipped my order yet. Best buy has been out of stock since a long time near me, either. So i kept checking almost daily like a routine and finally found in stock, ordered and cancelled my Samsung order. The frustrating part is Samsung website has been showing The Frontier will ship in 1-3 business days since past coupla days. I called their agents and they all be like- "Oh sorry, it just means it will be delivered in 1-3 business days, once it leaves the warehouse. It is not what you think". WT?? Man I got so pissed calling them again and again with no luck, they all repeating the same sht. I have a strong feeling they are not shipping in the order received. I think brand new orders at full price are still being shipped sooner than those back orders sold at sale price.
