Here are some things that are really driving me crazy, to the point where I'm considering returning the phone for the s3 or iPhone:
-Sending sms messages (using handcent app) I often get the 'unable to send message' notification, even when I have full service. The notification repeats over and over again until I delete the message.
-Google voice voicemails not sending notifications. I can't see if I have any received any voicemails until I open google voice and all the sudden all the notifications come in.
-no 'favorites' tab on the phone app. Favorites exist under groups, but for some reason you can't put the favorites down on the menu to make quick calls easier.
-uploading photos to facebook using 'facebook for htc sense' or regular facebook app often freeze part-way through, even with good wifi connection.
-Often times when I delete emails on the gmail app they still appear in my inbox when I view gmail on my computer. Also can't seem to make gmail automatically update upon opening.
-CALENDAR NOTIFICATIONS: Even when I turned off the facebook calendar sync so I wouldn't get 20 birthday reminders every day, the notifications still won't go away. Anything I put in the calendar pops up on the lock screen every single time, even the day before sometimes. Should I use a different calendar app? I like using the 'productivity' lock screen, but this "feature" is killing me.
Would rooting/ROMing fix these issues? I'm afraid to do it because I'd still like to be able to return the phone if the issues persist.
It's a new device htc, and our devs are still fixing bugs. But with a thread title like that, it wouldnprobably be best of you returned it.
But a few of you issues are know, and some are user related. I don't think Gmail has ever auto updated when opened just click the refresh button.

1. Use the stock SMS app and see if it still happens. You can't get mad at a phone if you aren't using the app meant for it. Switching phones won't fix this issue.
2. Thats due to crappy multitasking, check out one of the Custom ROMs out there or Scott's multitasking fix. Or one of the AOSP ROMs.
3. You can add favorite people to the homescreens. And I believe this is not unique to this phone.
4. Try a custom ROM, I've never had that issue.
5. Thats the normal way the gmail app behaves. Its not weird or this phone's fault.
6. You need to disable what calendars you want to see and which you don't. Its somewhere under settings inside the calendar app, google it. I had this same quibble but i fixed it by finding the setting for it. Disable "Facebook Birthdays" or something as a calendar.

An s3 would probably make you happier. The reason you are getting a better response here is because we have had so many omg this phone sucks, omg it blah blah blah, the insert phone here never did this threads its annoying to the existing HOX users.

I know how to turn off certain calendars. I'm not getting the facebook birthdays anymore. What bothers me is that on any day where I have something in the calendar, I get a reminder for it every time I see the lock screen. Once would be enough, especially when the reminder starts the day before the event.
i wish there was a forum where there was a bunch of grown ups talked about real issues, and mods and what not...and not all these baby OMG this phone sucks stuff. Go get the s3 you know what...you'll have issues there too, go get the iphone...you know what you'll have issues there...if a device was perfect there would be NO reason to upgrade. I just can't stand looking at anymore of these stupid threads. I work with two girls one has the iphone and the other the s3....iphone fell on the floor two days ago shattered the stupid glass they have on it...the other that has the s3 has three scratches. I dropped my one x it bounced all over the tile floor...flawless. just saying.

I'd return the phone if I was you. I think you'd be happier with something simpler like an iPhone. I happen to like tinkering, hence the one x.

1. You can't blame HTC for something not working right with software that you put on the phone yourself.

Friday's has a wicked ultimate long island. Pretty sure it's cheaper than $12 and definitely gets you buzzed. 4 of them and I'm done for.

I agree, they're pretty good. That's what I usually get at Fridays. That or their electric lemonades. It really depends on what bartender you get. It can be hit or miss. I've had some really good cocktails there and some really bad ones.

It sounds like that's because you have an all-day event, so every time you see the lock screen that day, that all-day event appears on top. I'm assuming you are using the productivity lock screen.
The solution is simply: when you turn on the screen and see your lock screen, swipe left on the name of the event. That will show the next appointment for today (or the next all-day event, in which case you need to swipe some more). Next time you turn on the phone and see the lock screen, it will show the upcoming event and no longer the all-day event. Doing the swipe is equivalent to dismissing the reminder on the lock screen.

A few months ago I noticed a cool new feature that showed when I took a screen shot quick links to share, open, etc. I also use Touchdown for email. When new messages arrived I would get a notification along with a prompts to view, delete, mark as read. I'm not sure if that was part of the Jellybean update or what. But then one day this cool new feature stopped. Recently it started again. It worked for at least a couple weeks, then I noticed today that it stopped again, I still get email notifications just not that new feature with the quick links.
Any ideas on how to get it back?

Those feature come out depending how much notification you receive and how long you receive it..

the automatically appear for the first notification ... otherwise if the email notification is the second one try the pinch zoom gesture on that notification ... i think that should do it ... and yes thats part of jelly bean expandable notifications
Pinching did the trick. I'm not sure why they'd want that punching feature.
Anyone know where to disable these notifications?
I would still like to see the cards in Google now.. But I don't want these notifications.. Never had them appear before...

I would also like to know this. I've had the card notifications disabled for months and just this past week they've been showing up. The option for notifications is still disabled in settings.
I don't want to have to block notifications from the whole app because that would block reminders too right?
This must have to do with an update from Google.
I'm experiencing this as well - seems like it just started a week ago when there was an update. It's extremely frustrating not to be able to disable the notifications of spam (stories, articles, recipes, totally random stuff) and leave things like reminders and whatnot. **sigh** Google why did you do this to me? I really do not need a notification that there is a Chipotle three miles away from me.

Go to...Google now> settings> now cards> show notifications! Turn it off, still will get cards in Google now.

Me too -- the first thing I did was check the notification settings for Google Now via Google Settings. I've even tried turning notifications on and then turning them back off. But they keep showing up. Maybe it's a bug and not an intentional feature.
Maybe it's buggy Google since they seemed to have messed up ok Google. I don't get any notifications with that setting off, tried on two phones.

Don't you hate when the functionality of something changes and they don't default it to the setup that you had before the change?
Surely, when this was released they should give you the option of enabling or staying with what you had?
Of course, that would be the professional way of doing things, sad that it doesn't exist at Google.
I'm getting this weird issue where when I dismiss notifications from gmail, they will immediately come back and then dismiss themselves again one by one.

It's really annoying, especially since the notifications are also sent to my gear S2 watch which then just buzzes like crazy as my phone is cycling through all the notifications.
I've used all the google-fu I know and came up with pretty much nothing, so I'm hoping someone here can help me figure this out.
Potentially related: I get notifications for new e-mails pretty much as soon as they come in, but if I go to gmail on my computer and read or delete that e-mail, the notification won't update. It definitely used to, and I'm not really sure when that changed.
Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!
I'm unable to play the video to see the notification . . . my internet is terrible right now. Perhaps you could just put up a single photo of the notification, or enter the text into your original post?
Check your setting for "Notification Reminders" under the Accessibility tab & find what you may have unknowingly switched on.
Happened to me once, I know how annoying it can be lol.

I get the same thing. Seems to be nothing to do to stop it however you may be able to reduce it to one notification in the gmail app settings just go to the app settings tap your email then about halfway down tap inbox, sound and vibrate and make sure notify for every msg is unchecked. Hope this helps.

JeffDC - A photo won't show anything, it will either show notifications there, or not, while the issue is when I dismiss a notification, it then comes back again after ~1 sec as another notification, then dismisses again after another couple of seconds, instead of properly dismissing the first time around.
og21 - Notification reminders were already off in accessibility settings.
wombat_combat - Notify for every message is already unchecked.

Same thing here. Haven't been able to find a solution. Galaxy S10 and only happens for my work email inside the secure folder.
Tagging this one again since it appeared on my google search.
On my previous Galaxy S8+ when I dismissed the notifications (notification shade) occasional a gmail notification (one just dismissed) would pop back up then immediately dismiss itself.
On my new S20 FE when I dismiss the notifications occasionally a gmail notification (one just dismissed) pops back up as if it was a new notification and stays there until dismissed again.
This happens when I clear it from the notifications and as soon as I swipe up the Gmail notification shows again. It's been happening for a while and I don't know how to tell them to fix it.
2021, this is still happening to me all the time. Gmail notifications come back to haunt me after clearing them. Sometimes they disappear after a few seconds, sometimes I have to dismiss them again.

Ive got the GW4 46mm BT classic paired with a Note20U both up to date , woke up this morning after watch been fine for a week and put my watch on but no notifications coming thru to the watch did quick restart on both no go.
Reset the watch and only some notifications come thru no email or texts tho whatsapp is ok , checked settings nothing has changed.
Uninstalled galaxy gear app and reset watch still the same missing certain notifications even tho they are ticked .
Watch is set to show even if phone is open.
Any ideas ?
You may need to turn on notifications for the specific apps in the wearable app. I had to do this as I was getting no notifications for any apps.

I've checked all the settings and all ticked . Emaids via the Samsung app now work but texts messages have now stopped showing on the watch even tho notification is ticked !!!

As I never had this problem with the old generation watch I got before (Gear S3 running Tizen), I think we have just to wait for the 1st product OS update.
Youth problems are common on first releases. I hope first OTA will fix this annoying problem.

Same here. Text messages and phone calls appear fine. WhatsApp is a hit and miss, sometimes pops up, sometimes just silently shows the notification dot.
In general, regardless of this bug, notification management on this watch is a mess, very poor user experience.
Some things I noticed:
1. If you're driving with Android Auto, it's impossible to respond or take action on a notification on your watch. Anything you click on (such as 'Delete' on an email notification or 'Mark as Read' on a text message) seemingly registers on the watch but the notification persists and no action is taken.
2. The notification indicator is useless if you have the watch set to wake up the screen when you get a notification. Basically it wakes up the screen to display the notification and from that point on it's considered 'read' so the indicator won't appear, even if you didn't actually look at it. They should've had an option to show the indicator while you have uncleared notifications.
3. Multiple notifications from the same app require you to click on a tiny number icon at the bottom of the notification. Inconvenient. (Think when you have multiple WhatsApp messages from different contacts).
4. Looking at a notification screen gives you no indication of whether or not you have other notifications, you have to try to swipe left to check.
5. To clear a notification while it's open -- you either have to click 'back' to the main notification screen and then swipe up or scroll all the way down to find the 'clear' button -- which sometimes isn't there and you have to click on 'More...' first. How about just allowing me to swipe to dismiss it after reading it?!
They'e put a lot of emphasis on health, but given very little thought about the basics.
I can only confirm and complain that I get 0 notifications from Whatsapp even though I've checked all the notifiation settings multiple times. Also even though I've got the wear os version of telegram installed, the telegram notifications I get are standard notifications that can't show e.g. pictures or voice messages.
It was working fine when I got it on tuesday. It even worked fine after the "day 1 OTA". And now I get nothing at all. Tried everything from granting more permissions to the Watch4 Plugin or disabling battery optimization and stuff. Restarted both devices a lot. It just stopped working. I am glad I am not the only one...

An update for you mine started getting notifications texts,Samsung emails etc . Gmail shows randomly but no vibrate or sound on Gmail other notification have this ,
I don't have a clue whats changed to fix this I already had OTA just woke up a few days ago and they were working phone was upstairs watch downstairs overnight ?!?

Update from me as well. I turned off both phone and watch and turned them back on together after a few minutes. I don't know why it works but it does.
Edit: Nvm it worked for like one notification and then it stopped working again...
Restarting both devices helped me.
I played around with a bit more. Restarting both devices helps...for a while. As soon as the watch reconnects to the phone (i.e. you move too far from your phone) it stops working. Very annoying still.

I'm has been fine since it started working last week had few disconnects while walking away from phone but coming back in to range and its reconnects fine and notifications a work .
It does repeat whatsapp messages that I previously read and gmail still not vibtrate of sound ,

I have the impression that all the notifications work fine now: Gmail, WhatsApp, Nuki, telegram, Smartthings, messages, Gtask.
Hope it will stay ok.
Mean reason for me is having phone on silence but I can see notifications on watch.
Btw the watch 4 classic is a real beast.
What version of plugin do you have?
I still have no gmail vibrate.
