(Q) How do you change CWM custom Rom install message? - General Questions and Answers

Title says all , How do you change CWM custom Rom install message? When installing a Custom Rom it says Welcome to "Example" by "Example Credits to etc.
If you know then plz reply it would help me out alot!

I think its part of the updater-binary or updater-script. These can be found in the meta-inf folder and can be edited using notepad++
.
however, do this only if ur making ur own flashable zip. Modifying others zips will cause infractions

Thanks but I've done such experiments before and foreign system files always seem to either cause me bootloops or force-closing on certain apps once the phone starts up.
It's not a problem for me and I'm willing to try because I could make a nandroid backup now, etc, but the problem is I have trouble restoring my sd-ext and all of my installed apps are stored there so a nandroid backup and restore could remove all of my important apps or I'm not sure maybe it won't but I can't take the risk for now.
Please if you could do the procedure I would be very grateful. I've attached my framework-res.apk and android.policy.jar if you decide to do it.

Bootloop on DXLC1 stock rom.
Put method instead of Zip
You should post a full method of adding files in framework-res.apk and android policy instead of posting the zip.
SO that other users can use it also.
GOOD JOB my BRO...

You could find a way to
Flash system.img, data.img, and cache.img using scripts
then, use updater-script to copy those "scripts" that you want to
You could take a lil' help from here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2266285, "reverse engineer" the tool for your requirements

If you already have an update.zip that works, then, probably the existing updater-script flashes the system.img, data.img and cache.img... Could you please post the updater-script from the "update.zip" that you obatained :fingers-crossed:

[ZIP] Empty Flashable Kernel Zip Template

Some people aren't sure how to create a flash-able zip. So here is a template zip file.
If you want to edit the updater-script (what shows up in recovery when you choose the .zip to flash. It it's in META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script, edit with notepad++, and edit in between the parentheses ui_print("Put Your Text Here");
add your boot.img to the spot where there is already a boot.img and replace it with yours
Most Kernels require different system/libs/modules
I added a spot for you to add these as well.

No need to seek permission for this or give any credits. Just something for those who need it.

Would this work if we want to make a flashable zip for certain files? Say frameworks, systemui, etc?

So I would just need to update the updater-script, correct? And remove the boot.img file?
