I want too debrand my wifes One S so she can get more regular firmware updates from HTC
If I unlock the bootloader via HTC dev will I then be able to change the CID too HTC__001 so it will accept the open european RUU or can I just flash the rom.zip renamed to PJ40.IMG via fastboot and reach the same goal
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
Hi ,
Until we have S off we won't be able to change the CID .
If you look in the Dev section people are unlocking install recovery and installing ROMs from there .
No true debrand yet
Thanks for the reply ill wait then until s-off is possible she doesn't need or want custom recovery etc just a stock HTC with no network branding

If u want stock rooted they have that or if u want Stock Stock like out the box than flash the T-Mobile Ruu if your Cid is all 1's
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
Just stock rooted, so I would be able to flash another ROM in the future.
Would my device being ext 4 at the moment be any trouble to flash a ruu??

I have a question about this- do you have to have your CID all 11111111 when going back to stock rom? My current CID is the T-MOB010 which is the stock tmobile CID and i am using insertcoint at the moment with no issues. Do i have to go to the 11111111 CID to flash the stock tmobile RUU?

Since T-MOB010 is what the stock tmous RUU looks for, you should be fine without having to change yours.

The all 1 cid is if you want to flash a Rom out of your region.

Using a stock RUU will get you back to stock and aslong as you don't root it when its back to stock you should be able to get HTC updates. There should be threads all over the place on how to safely install stock RUU and there is a thread full of RUU's in the development section. Just please please please research the correct procedure and make sure you get the right RUU I would love to be of more assisstance but its getting late here and got to be up early. But I'm sure if you look it up and make sure you research properly you should be fine

Or..... If you made a backup of your stock Rom before you flashed a custom rom. Just make sure you're on the sane firmware as stock and restore it. But if your rooted I don't think youl get official update.

not working HHHEEEEELLLPPppppppp
What's not working? The thread says its a European RUU so if you're not in Europe youl need to find one for your area. Then run it on your computer and follow the instructions. If you can't find one for your area/country and you want the European one use the link in cravens thread to change your CID to HTC__001 then run it on your computer.

Just to confirm, it does not matter the state of the phone (s-off, bootloader, firmware, rom, etc), as long as supercid or cid matches, ruu will flash fine? Will it be 100% stock? Thinking about buying this phone that the last owner supposedly "screwed up on" but still goes into hboot. Beyond that, don't know anything except it's a TMO phone.
RUU will flash firmware (radio, hboot, bootloader are components?) and rom?
Will it touch s-off / unlocked bootloader / unlocked radio / cid?

All the ones that refer to 3.32.xxx.xx also works for 3.33.xxx.xx, so go ahead and use them

I think he means that you should downgrade the hboot but it is not possible with an s-on device.
To s-off your device you can use this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614617
Root your device with this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668276
But be careful and read the readme, no one takes responsibility if you brick your device.

Yes there is a easy way of doing it you could flash a ruu that has the boot 1.17 and then head on over to alpha revolutionary and then s off and then root and then head over to 4ext.net download your new custom recovery and set it up and then upgrade your firmware to 3.32 or 3.33 you will then have hboot 1.27 next flash a Rom

Maybe you will not lost S-off, but even if you lost it, you can repeat s-off steps as u did before.
But what I'm sure about you have to root it again and lost OTA update

Well. Here's the think, I bought a Factory Unlocked OEM HTC Sensation z710e,
And It's s-off, and I've done nothing,

Any recommendations?

It is full S-Off, some phones come that way. Enjoy your S-OFFed phone
Just flash a recovery via fastboot and you're good to go.

If it says s-off and bootloader unlocked then you are good to go pal if your bootloader is locked then flash the jupuntobear hboot or the universal 3.33 firmware so that your hboot is unlocked without HTC's warranty nonsense and readreadread before you flash
