Native Screenshot Support? - Motorola Atrix 2

I saw that the Chinese Edison version had native screenshot support by holding menu and power button. Any chance of a port to the english version?

The port can be done but I'm not sure how deeply Motorola implemented the screenshot function... i.e. if it's just an app or if it's built in with the ROM. The easiest thing to do would be to flash an ME865 ROM to your A2.

It's not in Chinese . The default language is Chinese but it automatically switches to the right locale when it connects to a network.

If someone could port cm7 (which shouldn't be that hard) cm7 has that feature stock. At least has on every cm7 I've ever used. It was mainly the power/lock + voldown

I mean, on my phone, all I have to do is hold on the search button and it saves the screenshot, however, I just think it would be cool and better to have it native. So I don't care that bad lol

with a locked bootloader, any customization of partitions or kernel is not an option. although some think that the kexec solution is good, its still not working with radio enabled, so who wants a phone without phone functions.
Alright, since people obviously want to put their own ideas out there for this, and since I feel dexter shouldn't be bugged right now, I've decided to open this thread as an idea list, just for suggestion, and depending on how well dexters success is with this phone, maybe we can cook up something good.
I'll start of by saying I feel that porting cyanogen mod would be the best thing we can do, and to stay away from blur, it eats ram like candy, and we already have a ram problem xD
I say no against CM. Let's get 2.2 first and then see if we can get more roms, like 2.3 for example. And Blur shouldn't be on the priority list, but at least on the list as a spinoff. Dexter has done a few roms for the Milestone 1 too, including 1 with Blur as a spinoff.
perfectly working notification lights, better camera app.
the rest of the wishlist is already inside 2.2. So, I'd leave Dexter alone

All sites I open in native browser just auto-close when flash content tries to load (Giz, Gawker, Break, etc.). Will try other sites/browsers.

i don't think that will work
people on the Galaxy S team tried to port it over and they got stuck, so chances for that to work on Moto will be even less

wait what worked? I'm confused xD alright sense is out, what are the chances of cyanogen mod? I'm not an android expert in the slightest, and correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't that be a way to get gingerbread?

I think with the locked bootlaoder you need a Motorola signed kernel so I'm not sure how realistic a gingerbread port will be.

Taking screenshots on stock ROM - built in, no apps, no root!

Maybe I'm just dumb and everyone else already knows about this, but I though I'd share anyway.
I've just discovered that you can take screenshots on stock ROM by pressing the power button + home button.
The screenshots will be saved in the same folder as the camera photos.
Maybe if people at least skimmed the instruction manuals for their devices, they'd discover these things sooner.
Umm... ok...

Google Now

Anyone know how i can get Google Now with search feature loaded onto my stock rooted rom? It is De-odex VRALHD rom.
Thank you in advance
There is a file in the Clean Rom thread that has a zip that you flash in recovery. I did it and it is working great. Google Now is not quite as impressive as I thought it would be.

I came from the GNex and IMO it runs better on the GNex. I'm sure once Samsung/VzW finally give us JB it will be better.
I use the mod from clean Rom also and it works well.

I agree with others here, g now is not as good as I thought it was going to be. S Voice comes pretty close, plus S voice has deeper integration with phone settings, etc. I have it running on CleanRom 2.5 which is G7 based.

Google now takes time to learn about you and it works a lot better on jelly bean. For example it always let's me know how long it'll take me to get home. If I google a restaurant on my computer or phone it'll automatically tell me directions and how long to get there. And plenty more

i notice no quality differentiation between it on jelly bean or ics (jellybomb release by inc), still get great results and always displays the time it takes me to get to and from work, also for ball games and whatnot too.....i love it, just wish i could set it default to home button without having to need an app like home2 shortcut

yes, i have seen the thread, but i can't do it myself..
i was just too afraid to make things worst on my phone..
i just leave the technical stuffs on experts..
Just made a solution to my problem and it went well for me..
When hope is lost i find this thread "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705260"
credit to: jscott30
I flash it in my Rogers Infuse 4G, it's a hit and lost for me, just managed to have a lot of guts to do this for it's an at&t rom and it went like BOOM!..
Then ever since i rooted my phone and started following ang flashing "BeanStalk" ROM credit to scott.hart.bti for this great rom, i followed his past works and stumbled on his Inimitable UCKL2 which is great for having a lot of themes and great addons specially my all problem "volume rocker wake"..
Very Stable and it solved almost all i want on my phone, even my problem on camera flash led being no so bright after i rooted it.
Since i still can't post to their thread for some reason, i just have use this thread to shout a big "THANKS" to those thread starters and responsible for the development of those great stock and custom roms. Now I enjoy a steady phone with almost the original features of it +++.
Big "THANKS" to you guys:
jscott30 and scott.hart.bti

moto x ROMs on MAXX

I realize most ROMs should work as these are basically the same phones, but when I loaded the Krypton ROM I had on-screen nav buttons. Is there any way to eliminate the buttons on the screen and use the MAXX physical buttons?
Thanks in advance

Generally you just run into issues with having on screen keys instead of the physical ones.
I agree, the buttons took a little getting used to but there have been no "issues" enough to not use as a DD. The only thing I noticed was the speaker toggle issue. The apk that was written to take care of it, does so no problems there. I miss xposed and ROMToolbox but everything seems operational. I like the LiquidSmooth ROM for the center colored clock but, all the 5.0 ROMs are pretty much the same other than the clock. LS has not been updated since 11/30 - I'll probably stick with the one that gets the most often updates like Joe-Tech.
I install this zip with any 4.4.4 or 5.0 rom for the moto x i install on my maxx. It removes the nav bar and enables the hardware buttons. The keys are mapped a little different, but its easy to get used to. Just make sure you turn off "merge tabs and apps" in chrome settings to get your page tab back by the address bar.

This zip is not needed for 5.0 ROM's - only 4.4x. But it is nice to have to Maxx hardware keys active and model shows up as xt1080m
Its not needed, but why use the nav bar when we have hardware buttons. Hope we get official lollipop soon.
