seems I am having werid SMS and data issues. Randomly both stop working and i have to either make a phone call or put in and out of airplane mode to get it to work again. Any fix to this? or time to exchange phone?
I've been seeing a lot of this with the ics leak builds. Go back to GB
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
I had this issue with sky ics 4.2D-9 with the ucld2 radio, I switched back to ucla3 radio with the unknown bug and them problem went away. My battery life also went up
hmmm let me try the ucla3 radio now to find it lol
SMS Issues
You should make sure that you are running the UCLD2 ROM and not the UCLA4 ROM. I have noticed that most if not all of the issues are fixed when you move to the newer leak version. I would use Alien ICS v7 if I were you

I was feeling nice so here ya go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24227420
i think the reason we havent seen theese roms beyond the leak is cause of theese issues,
It's not your phone. I had the data connectivity issue with every ICS rom, including the stock ICS leak. Old and New.
Went back to GB, and never had this issue.
Waiting for official ICS release now. If you need your data working at all times and rely on it, I DO NOT recommend ICS leak or any rom based on ICS leak.
VERY unreliable when it comes to constantly being connected to Data.

The first ICS leak was UCALC4, not UCLA4. The only "UCLA" is UCLA3, which was from a gingerbread OTA update.
Here:
UCALC4 = modem from the first Skyrocket ICS leak
UCLD2 = modem from the second Skyrocket ICS leak
UCLC5 = modem from Galaxy Note I717 ICS leak
UCLC2 = modem from a previous AT&T GSII (SGH-I777) ICS leak (not compatible with Skyrocket/Note/Hercules)
UCALC2 = nothing
UVLC8 = modem from T-Mobile t989 ICS leak
UVLB7 = modem from T-Mobile Blaze 4G
This is not 100% accurate but it's close, and gives a good explanation of the firmware naming convention:

The reason it's not completely accurate is that the naming convention does not use just Region Codes, but also Language Codes, Carrier Codes, Network Carrier Code Languages, etc. Example:
UV = T-Mobile; USA (like UVLC8). Also for NCCLs, UV=en, es, fr
UC = Cingular; USA (like the AT&T Skyrocket leaks). For NCCLs, UC=en, es
UX = Rogers; Canada. For NCCLs, UX= en, fr

I have this problem sometimes too. And I'm on stock (Rogers) GB 2.3.5.
I think it's a phone issue.

Of course sometimes it's a hardware problem, but the ICS leaked stuff is problematic as well.
Forgive me for this noob question but I recently went back to stock GB and am still having this issue. Do I need to re-flash the stock modem? Where can I find it?
Thanks!

HongKong, Belgium, Czech Republic sell Magics 32A via Vodafone
But, at 17.11.2009 there is only RUU-update for HongKong

Do you have any idea on how to fix the problem of NOT CHARGING or ZERO battery percentage after flashing ROMs? Does it have something to do with the location or country intended for phone model?
Maybe try flashing V10d firmware.
