[Q] Indian Atrix 2 users: Is Mobile Radio/standby consuming more battery? - Motorola Atrix 2

I just want to confirm whether all Indian Atrix 2 users are experiencing the same problem or its just me. My mobile radio/standby is consuming 40% of total battery and the battery lasts for 13-14 hrs with moderate use.
If everyone is experiencing the same problem then the radio needs an update otherwise my device has some problem.

Radio Usage
Mine stays at 10%

I am in America, but it uses 30-35% most of the times

Maybe my sim is faulty
I replaced my sim with a new sim card and the battery life is awesome now. Mobile standby still shows 40% but the battery life is almost doubled with moderate use. Maybe the battery calibration is not correct. But I think the sim was faulty.

Yeah even I had the same problem, mobile standby 40 and phone idle 20, I tend to get 12 - 13 hrs with moderate usage with intermittent wifi/data usage.. my sim is new.. What to do !? Any suggestions ?
Sent from my MB865 using XDA

Yes.. Mine too shows 40 to 45% as standby..
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium

I think it depends on signal strength

well, I have the same problem, here in Israel.

You could try using your phone for one day with a new sim. Sometimes the battery calibration is also a problem. If you are rooted then re calibrate your battery. ( Search for the app in Market)

Not rooted yet, so can't do the recalibration, will get the Sim next week, might order the extended OEM batt from Ebay, but its cost rs.2.5k and 2600 separately for the back cover !

If its under warranty you can send it to service center. May be some other problem can be there.

I thought about returning the phone, but till now I was ok with the battery, though now standby and phone idle takes up a total of 60% of my total charge and 15% on voice calls, so i'm just left with 25% for the rest of my usage, after a full charge i'm left with approx 9hrs since the past couple of days which has dropped a lot. Signal strength is fluctuating between -75 - 91db

Mine takes up to 45% .

Could it be you have latitude turned on? This used loads of battery on the phone I just had
I solved it by discharging the battery completely, then I did wipe battery stats and then i re-charged it. now after 6 hours its 94%
What's the typical battery time for the One S? I got mine a few days ago and it just seems like the battery drains away way too quickly than what I read on reviews. 14 minutes in and already at 83%? Yet all I did was use the 3G connection. But my screen consumption is 89% yet I have brightness at below half way, probably 40%. How is any of this possible?! I've got Google's Location service and Location and Google search options turned on, could this be it?
I haven't had the opportunity to go at it for the full day, so that's what I'm gonna do today and see how it goes.

Wow, very impressive. I think the best I got was when I was at work for 9 hours and barely touched my phone and went home with it at 80% from 95% at the beginning of my shift. Some peoples battery life amazes me!
My battery is terible!
I am getting only around 8 hrs with little use, most of my usage is from cell standby. Is there a way I can fix this?
i am getting similar battery life as yours. running everything stock, no root.
i was wondering why everyone was complaining about short battery life. it's ridiculously good for me!

My battery life is horrible. After only moderate use at work it's down to at least 50%. How is it that your cell standby is so low?! Even if I'm using the phone a lot throughout the day, cell standby is always at the top; even screen won't surpass it.
Idk about that man, seems kinda ****ty. if I were you I'd look into a replacement battery but that's me

How are you guys getting such good battery life. I am at 61 percent with very little usage through out work. Only a couple short phone calls and checking email occasionally.
Is there a 4G toggle yet for our phone?

these shots are good, but screen on time is crucial for these screenshots. the phones will last forever if the screen is never turned on

Battery problems

Hello there,
I noticed that my battery really doesn't last long. It's been 100% full and now, 4 1/2 hours later, there are only 6% left. The weird thing about that is that I did not really used it during that time. WLAN has been turned on over that time, display was really dark, no backlight notifications or anything. Has anyone any idea how to fix this? (LG P940)

can you give more info
can you give more info? info like- which android, how many mah (ex: 2000,1000). give that and i may be able to help you,...
Would be really awesome! Android version is 4.2.2, battery has about 1500mah (think it's 1540) and I'm using the cyanogenmod kernel. Do you need any more information?

Thats not really much of a battery for the hardware,.. how old is it? Is this a recent problem, and when did you flash to CyanogenMod ?
To me it sounds like something is draining the battery pretty hard. Is the Wi-fi signal stable? Any processes under Apps>All, using excessive memory?
To me it sounds like you are having wifi/gps/bluetooth on all time, and if not, you should close ALL apps next time. Some running apps on your background could even drown your battery from 100% to 0% in less than 2 hours. Big apps or games cause the most trouble
Greetings,

If this phone/battery is more than one and half year old, this could be just battery dying, like mine (LG P920, 2 years old, 1500mAh) is dying right now.
It can't last more than 6 hours lately, so i bought a new one.
A li-ion battery (standard models) just can handle frome 300 to 500 charging cycles, thus if tou charge your phone every day, battery life has about 18 months lifetime.
After, it just dies, more or less slowly.
Thank you all so far.
Bought the phone 1/2 year ago so this can't really be the problem. The battery has never been great but got worse about a month ago. I flashed it about 2 weeks ago and this didn't seem to influence the battery.
I always keep GPS and Bluetooth turned off (only turning GPS on when I go running, but I never noticed that this influences the battery either) and Wi-fi is pretty stable. As I heard that Wi-fi is really bad for the battery I tried turning it off as much as possible and so far it seems a bit better.
I also took a look at how much memory the apps use and saw that Facebook, Kingsoft Office and Whatsapp really need a lot. I think I will uninstall Facebook and KS Office then and see if this helps.

Also problem with battery
I had a similar problem, my battery got "sick" after I used my phone as a GPS during 2 or 3 days. the phone was quit warm during the navigation. After that The battery life was reduced from around a day to 9-10 hours. In addition when battery is around 20%, the phone just shut down due low-battery and as soon I turn it on, as soon it turns off!
The solution was to buy a new battery, but that is odd that using the phone as GPS navigator damages the battery so badly!
Btw, my phone is a HTC desire w/ Android 4.2
yah now i may be able to help you, download the antutu battery saver app from google (it requires root) it is a really good app and helped he last
my battery from 3 hrs to 7 1/2 hrs. if you don't have root access, then it is a prob. if you don't have, tell me and i will give you another solution which
does not require root

3G battery "drain"

So basically I'm trying to understand why 3G reduced drastically my battery life. I'm not saying that I'm using it "actively", but I really need it idling.
Sometimes I have poor signal, and sure, it drains a lot of my battery... But while I have good reception battery drains fast too. I'm rooted and using stock Jelly Bean. My network have no support to fast dormancy (I'm assuming it's true because Better Battery Stats used to show a lot of time spent on FDCompleteTime wakelock before disabling it), so I disabled it. After about 7 hours mostly with 3g turned on I have 52% of my battery. A hour and a half of screen time. I do understand 3G drains my battery while I'm using it, or while I use the phone. That's ok, I accept it. But while idling is really something I want to know why...
Anyone else is facing the same?

First week I used Moto G with one sim and battery lasted for 16-20 hours. I was expecting more.
Surprisingly, after I put the 2nd sim I am getting 24-30 hours. It looks unlikely its due to having 2 sims, maybe the battery required some charging, discharging cycles before giving its intended capacity.

EDIT: upgrade on battery life 2days 21hours on battery, 3h on screen time. 18% battery left. This is after third battery charge. I am more than happy with the result. With custom ROM, some kernel improvements, Greenify it should last 4 days with 4h on screen time without a doubt.
