Guys check this out
www.androidandsandu.blogspot.com/2012/03/how-to-add-virtual-softkeys-navigation.html?m=1
Its too complicated for me but I'm sure if someone manages to do it, it would be really appreciated by all cm7 users
What are you looking for here? Need more details than a link with a "this is too complicated for me"
That link explains how to modify framework-res and SystemUI to add the ICS softbuttons in gingerbread
if you have a zip file flash it?
There's no zip file for cm7 softbuttons

Baksmali wont deodex the froyo files. It may not be done until the source is released. Or maybe until paul gets done with his family time.
i have tried. it is an issue with baksmali. every odex file kicks out the same error. baksmali needs to be updated or we will have to wait until the full source is released and a dev builds it without the odex files

Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
the lg phoenix has differant partition orders than the p500 like optimus m and the optimus c
wow ur my god! thank you! but can u just please give us like step to step detail on to install it? can i also provide us the recovery u used? Plus can we also overclock our phones in the future and is there any bugs so far found?
seems like this is only ported, how about read and make themes easy??
grab all apks you need,
Place the apk inside the system/app
(etc go-sms-pro)
Open go-sms-pro go to MANIFEST-INF -> and open cert.sf on top you will she
SHA1-Manifest-Digiest: (and a lot of numbers and letter's
copy these line,
now go to the rom your building and add the line you copied
META-INF -> CERT.SF
META-INF -> Manifest
(be sure to delete the line Manifest, when pasted in both files)
Should loke like this SHA1-Digiest: 1jfij1giji47mojh8jh/khoi=
now zip all files (system META-INF recovery and boot,
name what you want, and make zip file
And remember to sign it

D4 Update Zip Maker
So i have a p505 and this rom doesnt work with mine, or at least i guess
i may not have given it long enough to work i dont know. What i do know
is the rom that this was made from worked perfectly on my p505, so i
thought i'd throw that little bit of knowledge out there
i cant get the theme to install! it says some error and theme control or somethin like that! please help!
it will do that now go into metamoph and choose pick exiseting theme and go to carlorom and choose Gingerbread.xml
go into metamoph again and choose gingerbread.xml from exsiting themes carlorom.
Did this modify the kernel at all?
I would like to make an update on this rom.... I guess i was in general
a tad too impatient and didnt give the rom enough time to boot the first
time i ran it... This rom does actually work on the P505R for those that
do have it.
Sorry for any confusion.
Great theme by the way, i'll double check with this rom, but this does have a status bar font issue on the p506 rom. otherwise great job.
I was wondering how do we go about editing/replacing the services.jar?
sure go ahead android is opensource ,thanks for theme complement
so i am trying to add the notification toggles mod to my r800x and i have found the files from the mod to do so. but when i add them to my stock SystemUI.apk apk manager will not add them i have tried time and time again and when i decompile what i modded its the same as stock except smaller due to compression. i dont know what im doing wrong and if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
i have attached the stock systemui.apk as well as what needs to be added to it.
use 7 zip?
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
wont work it needs to be decompiled edited and recompiled. 7zip wont allow you to make the modifications required. but apparently apk manager only allowsyou to edit files not add brand new ones, so unless someone else can figure it out us r800x owners yet again get shafted.
K, so i'm running RCmix3D Runny 4.0 ROM (Sweet ROM btw) and i've found an icon pack that i want to use, not in an APK format, just have it in a folder as of now, both installed on my desktop and in my media folder on my phone. i really don't want to use Launcher Pro or anything like that to keep the icon pack installed, so i was wondering if anyone knew a way to install the icon pack with a program that doesn't need to be consistently ran to keep the icon pack installed.
i'm not completely retarded when it comes to ROMs, but i am new, so please, be gentle. lol
You would have to use a theme pack made for your Rom if you want to just flash it. If you know how to extract framework apks you could swap out the PNG images yourself.

There is no tutorial that I know of. Learning how to do most of this stuff requires time searching and reading on the internet. I use linux with dsixdas kitchen to have a working folder of Rom. You could just pull out framework-res.apk and systemui.apk from Rom to work with as well. Decompile apk, trade out PNG's retaining original file name, recompile and change extension back to .apk. now you have the apk with different icons. Either build Rom with these or push them to phone and reboot. There are many other places where PNG images are stored as well. Com.HTC.resources.apk is another one for example.
Hello!
I am not new to these forums.. I am a frequent reader, but I am not much of a poster.
I have a request that I think will benefit alot of galaxy tab 10.1 users running the stock roms.
Would anyone be able to /interested in modding the android.policy.jar file PhoneWindowManager.smali file to enable longpress back to kill foreground app? like the function we get in CM and AOKP roms? There is no need to have a setting for it in system settings. Just an android.policy.jar we could flash if we want the function enabled..
I have found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969499 discussing and explaining how to do this.
I have tried to do this myself, but either it just won't work or I end up in a bootloop. I am new to editing .smali files and understanding their buildup.. So I am asking here to see if anyone is willing to take a look and help me out.
My guess is that I am not the only one who wants this in the stock rom, and I hope that someone is willing to do this to the benefit of not only me but everyone else running the stock ICS and JB roms missing this function.
I am running the "something" JB stock rom by smaw51 with the extended power menu. I will add a link to my android.policy.jar if anyone wants to take a look at it.. If not edit it, maybe explain what strings to change in the .smali file in order to get it working. I know we will probably need a custom .smali with the kill function aswell if the one in this thread won't work...
Download android.policy.jar
Kind regards
Michael

I have been in contact through PM's with tdunham... the author of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971712 and he has agreed to take a look at our android.policy.jar
I will get back with whatever he comes up with

I finally got this working after numerous edits and tests, and with lots of help from Mirko ddd, tdunham and lyapota.
Does anyone want me to post a tutorial on how to do this?
Will require some modification to the android.policy.jar file.
Might require decompiling and getting a string from framework-res.apk values/public.xml
(Optional) in order to get a toast message saying "Application Killed." we will need to edit some strings in framework-res.apk values/strings.xml and recompiling framework-res.apk using APKTool or Virtuous Ten Studio. If we don't change this we still do get a toast, but it will then say "force app to close", wich (in my opinion) didn't look very stock.
Also, I have only tested this on JB, but it might be very similar for ICS.
Would really appreciate this function!
