AT&T hates the NW so no LTE here so I'm getting 3-8mb down depending on the time of day and 1mb-3mb up on HSPA
Not expecting LTE any time soon here either. Verizon and US Cellular (of all companies) have deployed their LTE locally, but we're not even on the map for having LTE turned on this year. Not terribly surprising I guess. I'm more surprised that Verizon has already had their LTE up here since the beginning of December.

When you had problems with the Speedtest app saying it was having network issues did the data stop working for your phone all together until you restarted your phone?
I discovered i have this problem often when trying to use the Speedtest app to test my LTE connection in San Antonio.
I started a thread a couple days ago here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1634147
Are you or anyone else experiencing this same problem?
I'm seeing 20 to 30 Mbs in fort worth.

I'm definitely happy with switching back to AT&T. Sprint ruined the experience of having a smartphone in my opinion.

Here is my speed...very strange situation as well. No LTE coverage on the att map where I am, but at the very top of a hill where I park for work I get coverage. Very good reception too but only within a 30 ft or so radius. As far as I know the closest LTE area to me is NY and I'm in CT...strange.

Been heavily testing my 4g all over my city of Greensboro, NC for three days now. No signal issues, no drops, stays 4g everywhere except in my office building. All four carriers suck in my building. Even then... I still get 4g inside most of the time. My downloads blaze! Running simultaneous tests against my woman's G2... my Sensation is always a little faster.
Average bandwidth = 3 Mbs to 9 Mbs
If you experience slow latency (like the market is slow to load) go to this post for a neat fix. Mine loads everything faster now.
-edit-
Takes me about 10 seconds to fully load everything on the Engadget web site with plug ins on and desktop browser mode. This is using Dolphin HD browser. That's fast!
If you use the speedtest.net app click the results tab after the test for the true speeds. The main display seems to lie.

800k could be the "speed" and equate to a 6.4 Mbs "pipe"
I'm hitting 9- 10 mbs by my house and job consistently.

Could be a typo too ... or could just be really crappy network speed if it is indeed 800kbps.
No its really 800k. Today I hit around 1400k down 900 up. I'm happy tho. On Verizon I was getting 600 kbps if I was lucky. And I'd be lucky to top 100kbps these last few months I was on Sprint

I might be getting this phone from my sprint evo 4g phone but it is NOT 4g, it is HSPA+. Why does everyone insist on calling it a 4g phone?

Oh let it go already. Even the bodies that define the term have given into the marketing hype. "4G" is said to use a term everyone knows already. The few of us geeks who know otherwise understand just the same. I'm sure you do too.
Bottom line, it's got speed, that's what everyone wants. None of the carriers reach what the original definition of 4G was to be. The carriers call it 4G, so just use the term for the sake of agreement. What the carriers originally called "3G" was not really 3G, but let's not get caught up in a side bar when everyone knows what is being asked. Either the device reaches speeds the carrier calls their "4G" speeds or it does not.

2g reception
i have tried the quick fix to no avail. i am running on 2g speeds around my house. 1 mile over though i am getting 4g speeds.
question is, is this a tmobile tower related issue or a issue with the radio on the phone.
edit- i was getting at least 3g speeds on my old samsung behold in the same area.
New Orleans, La.
I live in Knoxville, TN. I am lucky to get 600 kbps around here. I have occasionally hit 6-9 Mbps, but only a handful of times, and not for more than a couple minutes. Not sure if it's a tower issue, or a radio issue. T-Mobile is looking into. My speeds were much faster when I had my Evo on Sprint

Don't get me wrong. That is the reason I said I am dumping my HTC Evo. I ran a test on tmo speeds on a g2x and I was blown away. So I figured, why the hell do I need to pay for premium data when 4G is not even available in my area since Sept. 2010.
So I decided that I will be getting this phone tomorrow when it releases at a retailer. But my argument still stands, it is HSPA+.
I got mine from Wal-Mart on the 9th.. unless u meant a tmobile retail store.

Yea, I hate to champion one corrupt corporation over another, but I'd much rather be on at&t's network since the fall-back network is still leaps and bounds faster than Verizon's fall-back network (and they have had a number of outages on their LTE network this year so far). Fortunately I live in San Antonio so I have access to 3 major carriers' LTE networks.
That said, at&t can piss off with their restrictive policies. I only hate Verizon slightly more.
But my God 25mbs is amazing if could offer that every where I pay tom more I just wish my wifi that fast
