Pull the battery and go HERE.
Make sure you do the "Replace" step mentioned at the bottom of the "HOW TO FLASH A FXZ" section if you were on a 2.3.6 based ROM.
Also, did you have enough battery left (say, around 60-70% to be safe) when this happened? If not, plug it in the wall charger for a while first.
Good luck!

What ROM did you flash? You might need to wipe data/factory reset. Boot up by holding the volume buttons and the power button, then use the volume up button to boot into recovery. Once you see the exclamation mark, press both volume buttons. Then use volume down to scroll to "factory reset" and use the power button to select it.

5:53 guy: i tried to flash the ICS CM9 that they had in the development forum
5:47 guy: i went to the post and went to the fastboot section, but the links provided were either broken or didnt contain the FXZ file. If this help any this is what happened. i backed up my stock rom using the cwm recovery and then when that was succesful, i downloaded the cm9 (but i it was for the droid 3 not the atrix 2 because thats what they said to download in the forum).i wiped all the data cahce and dalvik info. (data x3 , cache and dalvik x1) then i went into "install from zip" and i choose the file they gave me. it finished, i selected reboot the phone, and now im here in a soft boot. CURSE YOU CM9 FOR DROID 3 #lol.

thanks though.

ZOMG! i finally got it using THIS ONE CLICK METHOD! I wish i could remember what forum i got this outta of cause i would give that user a million thanks.

[Q] CM7 Not Going Beyond Loading Screen AND Clockworkmod Is Black

A couple of weeks ago I decided to root my phone for the benefits it came with. I did so successfully and had no problems until I decided I'd let my curiosity get the better of me and try flashing CM7 onto my phone. I did so, and everything seemed successful, but I got stuck in a boot loop when I turned on the phone.
I know there are solutions to this, but they all involve either CWM or ADB. Just two problems: I can't use ADB because I forgot to leave USB Debugging on, and I can't seem to get CWM to do anything (it's just a black screen).
There are solutions to all of these problems individually, I know, but each solution relies on at least one of the others to be working. I've been surfing this forum and others like it hoping that someone else would have this problem and would have a solution for me, but I've come up dry.
I used attn1's Ace Hack to root my phone, and then I used Rom Manager to install CM7. Then I hit the loop. Also, my CWM was working prior to CM7.
Does anyone know what I should do?
Thank you in advance,
JW
Inspire 4g
P.S. - I'm new to this forum and don't really know the rules perfectly, so if I did something wrong, then please just let me know what I did and what I should've done. Thank you.
But you can still get in hboot right?
It sounds like you did not choose to wipe data and cache. You always need to do this when changing roms. Best way is to enter cwm yourself and select wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvik then flash Rom.
Pull you battery for a little bit then try and get into recovery again. If you still can't get in then you will have to reflash your recovery through bootloader.
If all else fails you can use the tool in this link to return to stock. Then re root you phone. genes tool

No, I didn't think to. To be honest, I saw Rom Manager and thought I would just be able to click on what I wanted and have it ready to play with in a few minutes. I never read what to do before the installation, which was my huge mistake.
Anyhow, I don't think I can get into HBoot. When I turn the phone on with power button and volume button, it vibrates three times, but then it goes to a black screen. I read about this problem with CWM, but the only solutions I saw involved getting into your phone - which I can't do.
So I'm wondering if CWM still works but that it just doesn't show what it's doing. If that's the case, then maybe I could still manage to fix my phone with CWM. Does anyone know if such is the case?
Thank you!

Sounds like you're holding the vol+ button. You need to be holding vol- when you press power to get to HBOOT. From there you can get into Recovery.

this is correct, but you may want to pull out your sd card first. if it still has the pd98img on there,,, its just gonna loop ya. so pull it out before trying, you can always stick it back in once you get to recovery, then select mount> sd card
GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks for joining us hear at xda. I would get familiar with the search button on this site. It will come in handy.
Your not the first nor last to have their phone stuck in boot loop. We could all explain how to fix this problem. But you would have no idea what we are talking about if you don't do some research.
So start with searching "stuck in bootloop HTC inspire4g or HTC desire HD" and do some reading. Get familiar with the lingo and ask your questions on one of the 8 topic posts already covering this issue.

Pull the battery, go to bootloader, ensure that you are S-OFF, then go to recovery and flash a new ROM after a full wipe.

1)yes.
2)yes its volume down and power
3)we use it interchangeably
4) you'll see on top pvt ship off, though if it was rooted chances are he didn't put it back son.
So boot into hboot(power and volume down) select recovery. Once in recovery full wipe and reflash a rom.

nice! so once in recovery, how do i full wipe? and i need a rom to flash because i delted everything in his SD card, cause i thought that was the problem
Download a rom from the inspire4g android development forum to your computer. Hook up phone with micro USB to computer put downloaded file on sd card of your phone. (I personally use cyanogen7.1 dhd but there are tons in that section of the forum.)
Once you do that you will be able to upload the Rom in bootloader from your sd card.

To do a full factory wipe you can either chose factory wipe. Or choose wipe cache, then scroll down to advanced and chose to wipe delvic seperatly. Once wiped you can proceed to add new rom as I stated above.
Sent from Soundwave aboard Nemesis.
If you still have issues or need a full walkthough. Read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20382889. Just remember if you choose to use stock roms you should use the roms for the 4g not the dhd

But to do a full wipe u have to do factory reset AND wipe cache partition & dalvik cache. It's not an either/or deal.

Your correct... my bad wrote that up wrong. But it looks like he already did the factory and cache wipes. So he just needs to do the dalvik wipe and he'll be good.

Can you go into hboot by turning phone on hloding volume down and power button at same time if so see if at top it says s-off.
If yes and its s-off place this zip in root of sd card may need sd adapter to move zip to card go to hboot by powering up with volume down and power button method. Phone will recognize zip volume up for yes and let it do its thing. When done will ask to hit power button to reboot vloume up for yes. Done ATT rooted stock gingerbread rom and radio installed.
Then visit any rom page you want to try and follow their instructions on flashing rom.
PS: I dont mess with radios and kernels no matter what the rom recommends but thats just me.

Can not root??

I successfully rooted my phone initially. Upgraded from Froyo to GB by flashing this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507658.
I want to install the new Z-tr, but I can not get root access again. SOC keeps getting stuck on "running psneuter". I also tried this method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqzbsVjOYVU form qbking77. No superuser app.....I need yalls help please. I need to be rooted to install ztr. I also noticed that when I connect my usb cable, although debugging has been enabled, it doesnt show debugging as active while plugged in.

Try using this method and try diff usb port....

I was able to flash back to stock using the method you gave me, but after it finished I was still unable to get debug to work when I plugged the usb cable in. I have deleted and re installed all drivers. I don't know what else to do.

Ok, did you go into settings....applications...go into development...check usb debugging....
also...makes sure you check "unknown sources"
this will allow you to copy to the internal sd your rom that you want to install...but to get CWM go back to qkster thread and flash the kernal required...
RECOVERY:
After you have flashed the UCLB3, some of you may want to have Red ClockWorkMod (CWM) recovery to flash another ROM.
Put your phone back into DOWNLOAD mode after your phone has booted up.
Flash this package. It is Entropy512's DD kernel. It will boot your phone completely.
Once the phone has booted into stock ROM, use the three fingers technique to get into recovery.
When in CWM:
I recommend the following to get the cleanest flash that has not failed me.
1. Wipe data/factory reset.
2. Wipe Cache.
3. Go to Advance: wipe dalvik cache.
4 Go back and into Mount and Storage: format system, format data, format cache.
5. Go back to main and flash your ROM. After flashing the ROM, I suggest going into advance and wipe dalvik and fix permissions - unless specifically said not to do so in the OP of the ROM.
Recovery Mode: Power off, hold both volume buttons and the power button at the same time. Samsung logo should come on. Let go only the power button, Keep holding the volumes buttons for 12-15 seconds and let go.
I know you want to flash ztr as you stated in the first post...but the dev has moved on, there are lots of roms that being supported by dev themers that are still around...take a look at he ROMs in the development thread lots of screens posted and the themes & apps thread...the home posting thread.... look around
I only say this because of the support you may need, will be around with the current Dev, but it is totally up to you...
Thanks. Your the man! now running Z-TR. I will admit..... I bout shat a brick when my phone started talking to me during Entropy application lol

[Q] someone help i bricked my g2x

well i didnt know clockwork isnt compatible with the g2x so i had that and so i downloaded a rom through it and it asked me to reboot and know its stuck on the lg screen but its a different lg logo it could be the cyngamod one that i downloaded i try to factory reset it but it doesnt allow me to pick it the android system recovery <3e> and only 4 options come out reboot system now, apply sdcard:update.zip, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partitionand none can be selected some one helped if looked around but cant really figure it out
Wait, slow down,
Can you get into clockworkmod recovery? But ti doesn't let you pick anything?
You may have disabled the power/select button. To re-enable it, scroll up over everything 4-5 times (just keep on hitting volume up until you go over everything 5 times)
If that doesn't work, follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1180331
just realized the post above said exactly what i was thinking. NVM
So you used rommanager to flash a rom and it screwed up your phone and recovery....

Stuck in boot, have cwm

Hi there. I had a stock S4g, had froyo 2.2.1. I Rooted the phone. That went fine. I went to install a new kernel (baliSGS4G) The instal got interrupted, second reboot had the android logo flashing while the normal galaxy s logo was on, so I knew from there it was screwed up...
It booted up fine actually, and i was able to operate around in on the phone, altho the home button didnt work... I went ahead and tried a restart to see what it would do and it would stick at the galaxy s boot screen and the voice would say "restore operation" and just reboot and be stuck on a boot loop...
I CANNOT get into recovery mode UNLESS I remove my sdcard... if I do I CAN... BUT it seems as tho the cwm recover is somewhat useless to me now that the sdcard isnt in.... If I boot into recovery and THEN put the card in, it saws E: Can't mount /sdcard..
Ive tried wipe cache partition, wipe data/factory reset... nothing..
Any suggestions? THankyou!
use any one of the "one clicks".
p.s. gb is a better os

sorry, i've very novice, what do you mean by the one clicks? Like a one click flash program or something?
And yeah, I actually have a galaxy SIII.....the reason i grabbed this one out is i have a little go pro style project im going to do with it and dont want to risk breaking my new phone.
I will try the newer os If i can get this fixed.. Hopefully!

Ok Lumin, I did what you said and I am getting to the command promt and it is not seeing my phone, It still shows the phone is disconnected... I have CWM recovery, is that an issue?? That opens when i hold the up,down,up button combo, not the stock download mode screen.
Very well written tutorial btw.

Try One-Click Gremlin Remover to flash and fix. Found this to be easier than Heimdall for the uninitiated: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500427
1 Open Gremlin remover on PC
2. Remove battery from phone
3. Hold down both the Up and Down on the Volume Rocker
4. Plug Phone into USB (without battery)
5. Insert battery into phone and replace cover
The phone should automatically boot into Download mode, and Gremlin Remover should recognize the phone. This should wipe it back to stock but leave it rooted. Then you can start again. I recommend the SGS Kernel Flasher App to flash new kernels in the future. Much less prone to error.

You might refrain from recommending a different flashing utility (ODIN) when somebody has already started using Heimdall and is just asking for help to finish the process. All you are doing is inviting more problems with driver and USB port issues by doing so. You gave him a simple set of instructions that mentioned nothing about drivers.
And SGS Kernel Flasher is great but it only works properly on our GB ROMs.
