Have you dropped the scaling down. And shut off the higher oc values? Typically that kind of thing is result of pushing the phone too high.

I agree with eollie, only time I've seen what you described is when I tried overclocking to 2ghz!

i used tegrak OC back when it didn't have the run for a minute and see whether stable option. And I had set on boot, OC to 1.65 just to see what happened. It turned on and then blurry freeze. Had to clear cache, and dalvik. Surprisingly, it worked.

Issue with nexus s 4g

I'm having an issue with my nexus s 4g. When I'm on stock Tom non rooted eeverything works fine. When I root and put on different roms my phone acts weird. When I have a different rom on when I'm charging my phone everything is fine. As soon as I take the phone off and let the screen turn off for about 15+ seconds the screen won't turn back. The only way to turn the screen back on is removing the batteru and reinserting it. I've tried different roms but I'm having the same problem. I went back to stock in the meantime while I try to figure this out. Thanks in advance

R u using a different kernal that has deep idle...try turning that off...also...what roms r u trying??

I don't change any kernels. I do a lot of underclocking. I keep it at 1000 Max and 100 low on demand mode but when my screen is off I keep it at 100 max and low. I've tried different gingerbread roms. Today I tried the aosp rom and it did the same thing so I'm assuming its something with my phone

It's not the roms or the phone. You can't clock the processor down that low when screen is off. It will never wake up.

alright. Ill change it tomorrow and see wat happens. I was enjoying aosp rom. How low do you recoomend?

It's better to ask the kernel dev about clock speeds
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
I figured out that its set CPU which is affecting my phone. I'm on aosp ics from and its working great without it. As soon as I enable set CPU my phone starts acting weird.

Yeah, because you clocked it too low. When your remove setcpu, it returns to the kernels stock clock speeds. Don't blame the program....it's works just fine for everyone else.

when I did the adjustments to the setting it made my phone constantly reboot. I got rid of the app and my phone is fine. I never had an issue with it when I had it on my HTC evo 4g

Because you clocked it too low. I think anything below 800 while sleeping well prevent it from waking. You can't clock it at 100 max.

What is this screen...

And how do i keep it from coming up? It shows up randomly while plugged in and it goes to it everytime i hit the home button. Ive tried resetting all defaults on any launchers and any accuweather apps. The only way i can get rid of it is to either hit the back button all the way to the home screen or reset the phone

I think that is your dock screen. I had that problem with a powerskin battery. The phone thought it was in a dock. I replaced the powerskin and it went away.

I guess i should mention im running sky ice rc7. Not sure if this is something specific to the rom or not.

[Q] multitouch problems?

I'm running seans SKYICS 12.5
I used to use alot of emulators, such as gameboid. And I never had a problem playing games like super marios world. But now I can't seem to hold in A to run, and the D pad to move at the same time so I can actually run. Any suggestions on how to fix this? With using the emulator and noticing that problem, I'm now seeing it elsewhere, like when I type on the keyboard. I recently switched to swiftkey over swype and I thought it was just the new keyboard wasn't as quick as swype.. So I switched back to swype for a minute and it seems to be a multi touch problem..
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I would try going to the latest update, I'm running the 13ish update with no multi touch problems.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Its a non wipe update just clear cache, install zip and reboot let cache build up and fix permissions.

You can update without base 5 several people have done it and confirmed its working fine, just update as usual. If you want his new base you could always flash, the only downside is if you update base you need to wipe, Happy flashing.

I just updated. Problem persists. I guess I should rephrase. Multitouch works, but not very well. Like I have a delay before what I'm second pressing will kick in. It might as well not work. Idk. I never had this problem on GB. Might be a ICS thing since seans roms are basically perfect.

Phone slow? GET SEEDER!

Alright so I was browsing droid life and looks like someone that hated the lag on their phone decided to get to the bottom of it and fix the issue so along came this awesome fix. Try it I'm sure you will notice this speed boost.
* There is an app you can download but for me the app doesn't work so its a safer bet to just download the zip file and flash in recovery, make sure after you flash that you wipe cache/dalvik.

Yea when you turn on the app and click to enable, don't press the back button this will go to your previous spot which was before you enabled the mod. Pressing the home button keeps it enabled.

Jcase says it is a placebo along with many other devs so I'm not buying that it helps.
This does keep the entropy buffer a lot higher then it would be stock with minimal usuage. I did notice a little difference but not much. If you wanted to keep the entropy topped out at 4096 you can simply "echo 1366 > /proc/sys/kernel/random/read_wakeup_threshold"

Also a Google Dalvik engineer has said that it's a placebo, which is pretty damn authoritative. Sure it'll keep the entropy numbers up but it shouldn't matter...

App that helps battery?

Are there any apps out there that LEGITIMATELY help save/prolong battery life? I have memory booster running but that just helps my phone run smoother by killing cached app processes. Anything you guys can recommend?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
This phone requires it's own nuclear power plant lol.
Seriously though, don't use memory boosters. They kill battery.
My setup is, CPU Tuner with timeriffic to set display brightness. With Maz's latest kernel I can get by... mind you I live in a very bad signal area (2 bars if I am lucky).
I set cpu to 216 when screen off with performance governor. Also I turn off data and Wi-Fi when screen turns off.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
I have mazs latest beta kernel as well. Don't really see a difference in battery life from his previous oc kernel. Ill try CPU tuner though

Sure, but be careful with it. I once it accidentally to low enough power to where I could not get out of screen off (kept going back to screen off). Also using one cpu does not work.

Does CPU tuner even work with a kernel that not over clockable?

Would, but only two cpu states will be accessible... fairly useless.
Edit: you need voltage states for intermediate voltages, then it should work. But I have never seen a non OC kernel with granular voltage definition.

Antutu battery saver is genius. on the pulldown notification it gives battery % (+battery added)
so like 100%((+30)
also clean master (which is a memory booster) doesn't run in background so it doesn't deplete battery as much as some others
Sent from my LG-P999
i installed android booster, but also procured a brand new stock battery, and i actually am enjoying about 50-60% increase in battery life... although it still is not a lot (as far as i'm concerned!) after draining it, recharging to 100%, and then calibrating, i went 7 hrs 47 mins from 100% to 50% with normal use - calling, texting, some video, some gaming. not to bad considering my old battery would only last about 3 hours or less with the same kind of usage!!!

Check out DS Battery saver. I use it on my N7, catch is, to save battery it turns off all wireless signals. It also forces the device into deep sleep as well.

Yea, if you get the paid version you can create custom profiles. It's a nice app for a tablet, but only so nice for a phone.

I'm using Trinity ELP file "ELP-G2x-06022012.zip", which has worked best for me as my G2X doesn't work that well with faux-based kernels. I'm also running dual boot with Maz's awesome JB rom with hardware acceleration - this is where I install games and experimental apps.
