Modern Combat 3 - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

Wow is it just me or are the touchpads horrible for this game? I just can't get the sensitivity right and they just feel sluggish. At times it will keep my character turning in a certain direction without my finger even on the touchpad. Blah...makes trying to play multiplayer not possible.

r u saying that the touchpads r working for you in mc3?
But i would suggest using only the left touchpad right thumb on the screen. its better to have one thumb on the screen then two!

Yes touchpads are working (if you can call it that) I got the game from the WAP Store from gameloft.

Same story here :\
Terrible gaming experience because of the controls.

I'm gonna try to get the PS3 dualshock controller working with it using the sixxaxis pairtool. At least then I would be able to enjoy the game. Just hope I can get the key mapping done right.

It does not have any gamepad support yet except xperia play. the only way you can use a ps3 pad with it is with sixaxis app on market and you will need to map the buttons and sticks with touch profiles. Tip if want to get it playing nice with that make sure MC3 in game controller settings and pick sticks. Been playing this like that on my Xperia S with HDMI works ok.

Yeh I have the sixxaxis app but can't figure out how to get it to work with the xperia play and MC3. The analog sticks don't move the player. You got MC3 working on the Xperia S or are you referring to other games?

I have the older MC3 apk, where the controls didnt suck as bad and everytime I load up the game I always decline the update......... I think to some extent the controls are better then MC2......

Yeah got it running on S but it had to be modded. Just wish gameloft just sorted it out and support the products they sell.

Yes, played online 4 games last night 3 and today.. plays good no lag and smooth as butter... the version I use is the 1.0.1, the newer version that screwed up the controls and gave it major lag is 1.1.1.

I used to have Modern Combat 3, I hated the controls so much, I was expecting them to feel like how they do on Minecraft Pocket, which feel amazing!

The original market version is the best one
Controls work great and you dont loose progress when online

how can i get the version 1.0.1? im on 1.1.1 and ive paid for it from the google play store, ive tried emailing gameloft but as usual their customer service is absolutely terrible

Would it be better to buy this from Gameloft's store or from Google Play?
I know you guys are all saying that 1.0.1 is the better one to get but Ive had trouble finding (aarrrr) it hehe.

Hm... I was kinda getting pissed that the Gameloft Wapshop version hasn't been updated.
...but if the update's just gonna make everything ****ty, maybe I should be glad I didn't buy from the Google Play Store.
OR, OR, OOOOR!!... Gameloft could stop ****in around and make all their Xperia Play games work like Dead Space. Shadowgun's controls went from **** to sugar... and Gameloft has far more resources to work with opposed to Madfinger.

You should try FPSE instead of PSX4Droid.

fpse is nice when it comes to its engine, but psx4droid has better on screen controls and landscape/portriat options.. combine the 2 and youd have one bad ass ps1 emu app.

FPSE automatically rotates from portrait to landscape and it has on screen control. Plus it'll work without the bin file.

I tried it yesterday with 2.3.4 aswell and it did not work.
I have not tried it with the play but could not get it to work with the inspire. I would love yo see it optimized for the play.

will all games old psx games work

will all the old psx games work on xperia play. so if i did get a file for a psx game that i have somewhere in my loft would i be able to use it on my play
No, unfortunately not all old psx games will run correctly. There are a large number that will though, and as far as how to run them, it breaks down into 2 camps.
1) PSXperia: Uses a trick to repackage psx files into apks that the built in emulator can use. Just do a forum search for find out more about it.
2) FPSE: An app in the App store that uses a more traditional approach to emulation imo. There is setup involved, and you will need a psx bios, but you can run iso's straight off the memory card, and it has a pretty large compatibility base.
The only game I can't get to work on fpse is x files. All the rpg's I tried work. Unfortunately there is no analog support for fpse unless your using ics Rom.

Ahh mate, you are lucky then. I have yet to get SaGa Frontier to work, or anyone else I have talked to. You can go the openGL plugin, but then the lag eats you up.
I wish I knew enough about driver optimization, because I am sure that with a little work the plugin could be kicking on our device. Yes we are weak in horsepower, but I think we are far from wringing out all the performance from the XPlay.

Onlive gamepad controls on ICS roms

Hi--I've been using markpython's rom (and xdarkmario before)...most of the games work, but I haven't been able to get onlive 1.3 working with the controls in ICS roms. Has anyone found a workaround to get it working? Would USB/BT joystick or gamekeyboard work (gk 2.50 locked up on me when I started using the root options/onlive options)
Thanks.
No, unfortunately Onlive controls will only work on Gingerbread.
The strange thing about the onlive controls in ics is only the touchpads work.

Lol can't the physical controls be mapped then? I remember that could be done from the settings of onlive
This is the main reason why I have not updated to ics. I bought a few games on OnLive and without being able to play them it would feel like a waste of money.
Im guessing the only way to fix this controls issue is if you'd ask OnLive to support ics.

Onlive Relaunch - Cloudlift (XPO)

Onlive just relaunched it's service's with improvements, new features like the new cloudlift service which enables you to upload digitally owned PC (e.g Steam) games to onlive to stream and best of all MORE ONLIVE GAMES.
Read all about it here - http://www.gamespot.com/articles/cloud-gaming-company-onlive-returns-in-a-big-way/1100-6418122/
It appears that Onlive have updated the android app and now only Supports 4.0+. BUT if still have the last 2.3 supported apk with Xperia Play Optimized controls it still works. As it's a cloud service all the new features are on Onlive end
When get to my PC at some point I will update this with some more info
Awesome. Thanks or sharing poo-tang! :good:
I completely forgot about this Thx for the news update, I still have a v1.3 apk laying around somewhere, now just to remember my account info and log in
Thought I would share this link, found it online.

Its been modded to work with all types of controllers going to test it now on my nexus 5 with my moga hero

Edit - I have also attached the apk to this post.
Wow! Someone should really try playing a steam game like skyrim on the play, maybe filming it. Too bad it requires subscription, but at least I'd love to see how it works.
I didnt play skyrim, but i have tried the dirt 3 demo. It ran flawless on what looked like max gfx, and was XPO. Great service if you don't mind the subscription.
