Does anybody know why most of my music covers is a weird picture Rihanna? I'm currently using Google Play Music.. It's so creepy and embarrassing when my friends use my phone and see this. Every time I download new music, this picture shows, so I was wondering if there's a music folder in my phone's memory that makes this the default picture cover for my songs.

It's embedded into the MP3 tags. I'm assuming you're probably downloading these songs from pirate sites? Usually they tags the songs with stupid pictures like that, or even ads sometimes.
Really? Ew wth why this picture
it's for all of my songs tho, except 4 who have proper songs covers. They all thought of embedding this one? THEY'RE TROLLING ME
its not from that. Its cuz the songs u have don't have pictures. So the available picture gets "synced" withstand he others. Used to happen to me but ton my HTC phones

Do you know how I can change this? =]
Or there's a hidden file that's a picture of that album art and it'll be the image for songs that have no image themselves.

nope. its if he downloads not from real places, the file extensions wont be the same. so like the genres will be alike or the theres no specific album name with no album picture, the one that does, will transfer on to the others.
I think you should just come to terms that you are obsessed with Rihanna. Its alright man. Her music ain't all that bad.

Are all your mp3s in one folder? If so then separate them and problem solved. You are having this problem cause in your root music directory you have a jpeg that might say album art or something

WHAT? I don't even have a song that's Rihanna! :'( I only have one featured by herrr. Do you guys know where this picture is, so that I can replace it?
I use an app called iTag. It basically lets you edit every single album/song cover for every one of your songs, it's really useful. I have troubles with album art until I found the app.

Can anyone recommend a good podcast downloader and player for the evo?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I really like DoggCatcher.

I use a separate player and downloader, because I haven't found one solution that meets all my needs. For downloader, I use Dpod. It's functional without being overly complicated. It has a player built in, but I prefer Mortplayer. Astro Player is also very good, possibly better than Mortplayer, but it's buggy and the UI is hideous.

Thanks for the info guys =D

doggcatcher is the best.
Beyondpod for sure. Easy sorting and lots of options. Well worth the 7 dollars.

'tuna
you can use NewsRob and/or Google Listen
I've been using Google Listen for my podcast-listening nees but I'm not happy with it and didn't even think to see if there was better (since Listen is directly from Google.)
Seeing how few people use listen, I think I'll try some others, starting with DoggCatcher.
Listen is a Labs app, pretty much meaning beta. I always get errors and it never remembers my place in the podcast and makes me re-download the entire episode. So frustrating!
Good thread.
True. Still havent decided on one. The market has a few to choose from. Im going to try out doggcatcher next and see what its like.

From what I have gathered the SGS supports a lot more video/audio formats than Nexus S out of the box (correct me if I am wrong). Will it be possible to port these codecs from the SGS over to the NS?
Video Player Nexus S
Helps. Need a video player for Nexus S. I switched from my G2 to this. With the G2, i used ArcMedia and it played pretty much anything without any conversion. Now all i get is FCs on the Nexus S. Sad panda i am right now.

[Q] How to play vidoes/movies on Nexus S?
So i was thinking about watching a movie this afternoon on my brand new Nexus S and started looking for some sort of video player under the appications. Is it true that the phone doesnt come with any kind of Video Player? How do i watch movies? What format to use for the movies? I download all my movies and they're all .avi. All the help, comments and suggestions are highly appreciated.
AVI is just a container. It can hold any kind of codec inside. I heard people reccomend rockplayer is good though. Try that and report back on how it works.
Rockplayer doesn't work. Lots of players crashes on the Nexus S right now. They all need to be updated.

You're right. Nothing works at the moment. Is it true our nexus came with absolutely no video player?

When I try to open a video file from astro, among the choices of program given to me is one called "movies"; this uses the same icon as the "gallery" proram, comes preloaded on the phone, and also fails to open most video formats.
Playing M4P via Meridian and it works great.

Let me look up meridian. I guess I am gonna have to convert from avi to the extension you mentioned.

Gallery is the video player.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
So is the issue that the nexus s doesn't come with an xvid codec or that apps with software decoding of the codecs like rockplayer just need to be updated ? Sorry if I'm a little dense about this.
I guess the 3rd party apps need to be updated.

So is there a specific file type that the galley plays? I just created a movie folder with 2 avi files but gallery isn't showing anything other than pictures on the same storage.

M4P is a .h264 container. Most videos on the internet or torrents for phones come in M4P format. Best quality for the size.
Most phones can play M4P right out of the box. YouTube is a big supporter of the container.

quick question regarding the camera, how do you upload videos to picasa.
I went to the gallery and hit menu to get the option to share, but I only see the option there when its photos. I thought you can upload videos also.
I could not find a way to upload on mine. I have just used "Picasa Uploader" from the market. It's free and uploads video and pictures.

BTW did you check the videos you uploaded on picasa from your nexus?
I just uploaded one using the same app you said, and it seems that the quality is not the same than that which was taken on the phone. Its a much lesser one.
Ok I found this amazing app (in my opinion lol) and I thought I might as well share it out if anyone's missed it. It's wp7 music player in beta stage but the fluidity and the looks is really good already. Not a single lag. Try it
Another music player made by the same dev has better SQ than powerAMP btw.

does this app have auto resume playback after a call? the music player in cm7 is missing this feature (or i haven't figured out where to enable it) but its driving me crazy that its missing that feature.

Yh it's Better Music EQ and it's only better in terms of SQ. What I find better with this music player's tweaks i.e. EQ, bass boost, virtualizer etc is that it doesn't distort the music sound as much as powerAMP. So it's much easier to get clearer sounds with natural deep bass with crisp treble. The virtualizer, if used properly, can widen the soundstage without affecting other sounds
I believe he's talking about zplayer which is a zune player port from the zune or Windows phone 7, I dnt believe its the one u r talking about

trying it right now, had few force closes when going back from homescreen to the player. sound quality is on par with my current mixzing player IMO.
lack settings menu. some cover art cannot be read.
overall still quite a nice option player

Please i really need this im really tired of all mixed covers :'( Thanks in advance.

Usually the covers use the IDv3 tag, may be you should fix the albums and artist in your mp3s IDv3 tag to get the right covers

You can try Cover Art Downloader from the market to fix it. It's free.

Whats the best music player out there for Android? Also is there a music player out there that shows the top 25 played songs kinda like itunes?
I myself have not found a real good high quality music player. some will say Poweramp, but to me its not the greatest. I am going to try doubleTwist and as you can see in the thread I just posted, doubletwist is supposed to be really good so give it a try
Power amp is the absolute best. But if u want an ipod look you could use btunes. But neither have top 25 most played. I think google music might have the top 25 feature though.
I like Winamp. Solid player with wifi sync.
Sent from my A500 using XDA Premium App
+1 to PowerAMP, I don't think it has top 25 played, but if you knew what those songs were you could always make a playlist of your favorite songs. It also has a built-in equalizer that can really improve the sound quality if you have any crappy sounding mp3s. My 2 cents.

I purchased them all. Mixzing premium has grown to become my favorite. I've used player pro, lithium, btunes, power amp and cubed. Lots of good choices out there.

I LOVE DoubleTwist because it now supports AirSync (Air Play) which streams to Apple TV which is great for me since I own Apple TV. Plus I just really like the UI and how it works.
i like lossless music
So for now I'm trying andLess.
It's bare bones, but it plays my Apple lossless files. Before I always had to make a separate set of .flac files. Now just one version does me in both places.
I love Google music, but I'm also on the beta.

I'd like to use their Beta with cloud storage but until they allow you to upload an iTunes playlist no thanks. I'm not going to let it upload all 6,000+ songs. Would take forever! At least the Amazon player allows you to choose playlists!
