[Q] Anyone how to fix calling issue with newly rooted phoen - T-Mobile LG G2x

I just rooted my phone and loaded eaglesblood 2.3.8 and now whenever i call all i hear is a clicking noise. I updated my baseband use getRIL and checked my sim card it works on other phones. What is weird is my 4g internet works and i can call using wi-fi calling but i just can't call anyone normally. My phone has essentially become a tablet.

GetRIL only updates your RIL, not your baseband. The only way to update baseband using either OTA update or LG tool/KDZ method. What is your current baseband (settings/about phone)?
It is a known issue with the latest baseband (11 March 2012), if you're on the this baseband you will only be able to use it with 2.3.4 ROM.

Currently only kwes1020 rom in dev section works with the March 2012 BB. Flash that.

Thanks for the help, and out of curiosity would an Ics rom work and if yes which one would you recommend. The one with most functionality.

He said "only" as in... no other roms

Wifi calling works in hfp 2.0 and earlier but not 2.1... Is it just me ?

I have between using various roms, and mostly no problems with wifi calling, mostly hellfire Phoenix 2.0, but when I up graded to 2.1, wifi calling stopped working, it just sticks at "Activating"
I have tried all the reboot, hard reboot, changing ril, turning wifi off before rebooting, but nothing helps.going back to 2.0 fixes it.
Now I had to replace my old Sim, which died, and it was a TM9073 Sim, and of course the new SIM is the TM9177, which is not supposed to work for wifi calling, but it is working for me.
I have tried someI'Ve rooms but wifi calling has only worked in whitehawks aokp build 28, worth the new TM9177 Sim.
So, is there some thing I should edit in the build.prop, or any thing else I can try? Wifi calling is a must for me as there is little to no signal at home or at work, but wifi is great....
I would love to try new features in 2.1, and the other ICS roms
Any ideas?
OF note:
http://support.t-mobile.com/message/58995#58995
Tmobile says the TM9177 does not work with Wifi calling -- but it works on HellfirePhoenix 2.0 (and previous).. and it works on 2.3.3 Stock GB rom.
So I have trouble beliving it is just the SIM.
I was using RIL v20c in HFP 1.9 and HFP 2.0.. when I went to HFP 2.1 it defaults to RIL v21e -- but even running v20c in HFP 2.1 does not help.
Similarlly running v21e in HFP 2.0 does not cause any different behaviore.. e.g. HFP 2.0 + v21e works just fine..
more evidence of SIM card related problems..

2.1 is still a GB rom and it worked flawlessly for me... did you just wipe cache and flash or do a full wipe and flash? That's my guess, it just needed a wipe.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
since 2.1 is supposed to be so different, I ran volk 's nullifer single pass script. Then installed hfp 2.1, so I am sure that was not it.

Did you do a titanium backup?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I do use titanium backup, but only for user apps, not system apps...
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
Then its a weird issue cause there aren't very many reports of it with 2.1 if any.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
perhaps a better question is, is anyone else able to use wifi calling with hpf 2.1 and the newer TM9177 SIM card?

The RIL was changed to 21e in the ROM.
So go get the "getRil" app from market and try changing the RIL. You will get the wi-fi calling back. Reboot once you change the RIL with 'getRil'.

whitehawkx AOKP build 29 uses v20c by default .. and that seems to work, switching to v21e makes wifi calling sporadic.
Restoring v20c.. makes wifi calling work again..
But that did not help in HFP 2.1... I'll try again..
Got it working, finally but I wiped three times and had to switch to the v20c RIL as v21e never worked ,

What account settings does it depend on?
i'm trying again in HellfireSandwhich 1.6.. and
again
v21e does not work at all
v20c allows wifi to work, allows my phone to connect to wifi calling -- but it does not allow any calls to go through.
interest com.android.phone stops if I try to use the "Tmobile My account" -- with v20c..

Network/Signal Issue

Friend says he tried to root his g2x, now it's running 2.2.2 (which is a verison of andriod i'm not familiar with) and he has no signal and is unable to connect to any wireless network.
Also, when i search for networks, it pops up with both tmobile and att, but, as far as i know, the phone is not network unlocked.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Is he running a p990 rom on a p999 or vise versa? That would cause some issues...
Pin it to Win it.
I know very little about this phone, what kernel and build should it be running stock?
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app
He just has to make sure he's running the from for the right phone. If he's running a 2x rom on a g2x that can cause problems. Also might be a baseband issue? Not sure on that one as I never even bothered with 2.2.2 or don't know if they have 2.2.2 roms lol

That baseband is the March 2012 baseband. He needs to have 2.3.4 or another rom that supports the new baseband. Try loading up the newest cm7 and see what happens.

Incorrect.
If you are on the March 2012 baseband, BT CALL AUDIO does NOT work. Media audio does. This applies to ANY ROM that's not stock LG 2.3.4. There is the option to run a "modded" stock ROM such as BuRom & kewes (sp?) rooted, modded stock 2.3.4. Pair up with faux's GB specfic kernel and it's not terribly bad
You can also attempt to downgrade to an older baseband via kdz method.
As for G2Xer's question, I have not used it, I'll take a look at it, but I think it's more of a driver issue or something like that causing the problem.

What's up Jackyl. Thanks for your reply. I came up on this app thinking that it would reroute call audio into media audio. I'm going to try and downgrade my baseband soon per neowaves directions on the Hellfire forums. Just waiting for my sis to return my USB cable lol?

When you downgrade successfully post a link to the method you used. I am tired of waiting for this to be fixed.. I am running Cm7 nightly .. and Cm10 seems a dream - most devs have moved on now.. so I should at least get the best working phone I can

Update: I emailed the developer but he said there's no way to reroute the Bluetooth call into the media. He's tried but said he and others have hit a couple blocks.
Additionally, I tried again to downgrade with no avail. For some reason my XP machine does not recognize my G2x when in SW mode. I know were all awaiting for CM10 BUT Im crossing fingers that our great dapharoah will take a look at fixing Bluetooth (no he never stated anything im just assuming since he's working on cm7 still).

Let's try comparing logcats from a g2x with v21y baseband and stock gingerbread connecting to a Bluetooth device and making a call, to a cm7 device doing the same thing. We should be able to find some sort of discrepancy correlation in the logs if we look hard enough.

I don't think it will get fixed though.
The story I've always been told is LG needed to release something, maybe code, and it's something they didn't have to under open source.
Something like that.
Sent from...I can't tell you, the Nazi XDA Moderators will shut it down.
lol i have been following googles code site pertaining to this problem and it seems like even the CM team has ignored it since cm7 came out right after the v21y baseband release by LG that "fixed gps signal"....well it also broke radio usage until owain92 fixed it. but still nobody has solved the cell over bluetooth issue. media plays just fine, just not phone calls. im hoping that by mazout360 and king-nai compiling themselves and incorporating hard fixes into their rom, that they will not overlook the bluetooth issue. i have a feeling that their rom wil be phenomonal when its finished.

[Q] hellfire sandwich rom

Hello,I searched all forums but cant find a answer to my issues, hopefully someone can help.
I flashed hellfire sandwich rom to my g2x Now my issues are
picture messaging dont work-I can send regular texts but not with pics nor can I receive them
I get process at android ,com has stopped and I click ok bit it keeps coming back until I reboot
the second one is my battery bar indicates a full charge but its been on for about 6 hours now-I did install battery recalibrate but it still does it
third is that my phone number says unknown and my voicemail number is also not known I have a feeling this is related to my mms erros too.
Thats about all please help.I did have cyanogenmod 7.1 installed before and was having the messaging issue then too.I did switch to another version of hellfire after that and everything was working great except my battery indicator had ? mark in it and the phone shut down and had a hard time rebooting.I used g2x scrubber before I installed the hellsandwich rom and followed directions to the t so I dunno whats wrong
Thanksfor any help,Steve

Were you originally on 2.3.4? I don't know if it will help or not but if so try flashing the new baseband fix zip file. Its a sticky I believe in the g2x general section. I know its meant to fix problems with calls but it couldn't hurt I guess.

well it was worth a try but no go,any other suggestions?
I honestly have no idea. I'm currently running an ICS rom (eaglesblood) and have none of those issues. However my voice mail had the same "no voice mail number" error. I'm assuming you're on t-mobile...if so, just put this number in for your voice mail and it will work properly:
+18056377243 This will definitely fix your voice mail...as for your SMS messages...hopefully justjackyl comes in here and can give you some better information
I think you should try reflashing your rom. Or try a different one. You have a lot of weird issues. When you go from gb to ics or vice versa are you wiping /system?
Good call twitch. Make sure you wipe /system under mounts and storage in CWM!

under baseband in getril it say recommended march baseband. Any suggestions?
Whats the model number on the label?
We are not quite sure how you have a may baseband, the P999 basebands carry June and March months. I believe June 15 2011 and the last was March 11 2012.
I keep wondering if your not using the Wind G2x model which is an O2x P990 branded as G2x or even using a P990 in general, which this than would be incorrect ROM and could definitely cause all these issues.
In you screenshot it will say P999 because the ROM build states that, not the phone.
Check your model number sticker please.
