[Q] When charging G2X the touchscreen doesn't react properly to my fingers - T-Mobile LG G2x

People on here suck ass at titling threads properly, thus making finding relevant topics a pain in my ****. I hate you people who type "HURR DURR MY PHONES BROKE".
Anyways, whenever I have my G2X (P999DW) on a charger, whether USB or wall, the touchscreen doesn't follow a constant finger press and dragging for very long. It will dodge off in random directions at random times. Needless to say, this makes typing or even unlocking my phone a rather tedious process.
I was wondering if this was a known issue or not. At first I thought it was because I had before ran CM7 with the Trinity 1.5ghz kernel from DerKernel.com
I had tried running mine at 1.5ghz, but it wouldn't take. I managed to run it at 1.2ghz with a slight overvolt, and it ran stable.
Well, I've recently been forced to reinstall a new Android version on it, and went with a MIUI variant, and decided to run it only at the stock 1.0ghz now, but it's still being wonky when I plug it in to charge it.
Gingerbread 2.3.7 MIUI on it now. CM7 before. It never did this with the stock rom, I could play games on it for hours when it was plugged into my laptop.

Are you charging it with the original USB Cable?

Indeed, the cable that came in the box. It's got a sexy matte finish that I like. :/

I had this problem when I was using a different charger, but I'm not sure why this would happen on the original. It was very strange indeed... Maybe just try a different charger and see if you have the same problem.

My G2X did that with almost all chargers except the original LG charger and a BlackBerry charger. My Atrix 2 does it with all chargers, including the included Moto charger.

My old iphone did this with a really cheap charger.
I'd just try another cable.

It's RF interference disrupting the display hardware. A different charger or cable might help. Otherwise you might try for a warranty replacement.

Warranty replacement sounds fun. Thanks for the info, guys.

Wife's Infuse quit charging via A/C...

...but the USB is charging fine. If I charge via USB for a bit, it will then allow AC charging (indicator changes to charging) for a limited amount of plugins (so far just 2 or 3). Power cycling and swapping batteries had no effect. Anybody else seen this yet?
I've got my own Infuse and it's not affected in the same way. Pretty sure I'll take hers back and trade it for a new one. I suspect this is just a fluke hardware issue, but being as we're all on the bleeding edge wih the Infuse it wouldn't hurt to share/ask.

true, good thinking. also, he could try charging his infuse on her charger
Tried it on my A/C adapter with same results.
Kept the cord in the phone and just moved the big usb end to the computer and same results.
At least it's reproduceable on her phone... I'll be swapping it out later today.

Did you ever sort this out or just swap it?
i had a similar issue, but my phone also though it was connected to a computer. i did a factory reset and flashed to stock to bring it back tothe store and te phone stopped giving me trouble. now it seems the usb connector may be the problem and the factory reset seeming to fix it was maybe just a coincidence. if i plus some usb cords into it it will go into usb debugging connected mode if it is not lined up strait.
I swapped it out. New one has been fine.

[Q] Thunderbolt slow when plugged in?

Has anyone else noticed this. I have 4 friends with the TB and all of our phones are noticeably laggy when plugged in and it gets worse as the charge gets more full. If I plug my phone in at 90%+ I have to unplug it just to respond to a text message, other wise I am stuck typing a letter every 2-3 seconds.
I have experienced this on stock ROM, BAMF Remix 1.6 and the GB BAMF I am currently on. Of my friends one is still on stock and sees this. The other two are on GB BAMF.
As an experiment I plugged it into my car charger and when the phone is above 75%ish, it starts to interfere with AM radio signals while charging on the car charger; unplug it, and the radio works fine.
I have had cell phones since 1997 and this is the first I have ever seen of this. Anyone else experiencing this?
Yes, I have this problem as well..I heard it was from using non OEM chargers but I could be wrong

I am using the charger that came with my phone but a 3rd party USB cable (because it is longer). ::shrug:: I can try the original cable when I get home.
thought it was just me...Have same problem when the phone hits around 90 it gets real sluggish and then I have to take it off the charger to get it back to normal. I am on stock and using the charger that came with the phone.

Plugged my USB cable into my Belkin brand iPhone charger and it runs just fine. Did HTC make their chargers out of spec? I don't have the equipmnt to test.
I use the stock equipment HTC boxed with the phone as well as a Verizon car charger and I've never experienced this... I have a rooted friend who uses a 3rd party USB cord, let me cross-reference with him and test a couple different cord/charger configurations to see what happens. But basically I should see my TB start to lock up more and more relative to the charge?

Yeah, it seems related to being close to full charge. I am on an extended battery if that matters at all. On a 3rd party charger I notice it significantly less.
I would say its the extended battery, like I said this has never been a problem for me and my friend and I can't reproduce the issue on either cord, but then again we'really both on the stock battery... Interesting!

Quick fix for this is to reboot your bolt while it's plugged in and charging. One of the new dasbamf roms has the perm fix in it.
I have the same problem on rooted thunderbolt, stock battery, using oem charger as well as 3rd party. it doesnt always happen but often enough that i usually just pull the phone off the charger now if i need to use it.

[Q] Voltage problem?

Heya,
So when my girlfriend plugs her inspire into her laptop it says the phone is using too much voltage/current than what its being provided so it wont charge... Though when i am at her house and charge my vivid with her wall plug i feel like my phone charges a lot more slowly.. Could this be a cable problem for her or an electrical problem?
She lives in a older house so that made me wonder if it could be electrical or something...
I also just recently got it back from HTC because of a dead motherboard and i charged it at my house no problem...
The phone is running WCX Sense 3.5 1.5ghz ROM if that brings any light on the subject
Edit: was a cable/wall charger problem and is fixed
Make sure that you are using the original cable. Some USB cables do not work properly...try using a different one to see what happens

Thanks for your reply
I know for sure that cheap after market chargers (like Chinese ones I know for sure) can fry your phone because of a voltage problem lol

Infuse Hardware Repair

I'm a day one infuse user. Its been a great phone. But my issue is I recently adopted a little kitty and she runs around like normal little kitties do. Well she ran by and drug my infuse off my night stand and it must have landed on the plug while it was charging. (feels sloppy and bent) Surprisingly my phone still charges fine but I'm contemplating taking the phone apart and seeing what the issue is.
So my question is the phone worth taking apart and repairing the phone myself considering it still works/charges.
A little background. I'm semi technologically advanced. I'm a system administrator in an IT department. I have no issues with soldering on the insides of my phone Anyone else had this issue and repaired their plug.
If it has not been done I will be willing to take some photos and show how i did it.
You never actually stated the problem your experiencing...only that it has some dent/bent thing near the charger...

Plugging the charger into the charge port on the phone feels loose and sloppy. With the charger plugged in the cable is actually pointed down a little bit instead of a straight in shot.

Have you tried another charger? The tip of that charger could be what's bent and not fitting into the phone right.

Yes, I have multiple chargers laying around the house and at work.
You say the phone still charges, but will it connect to a computer and loads drivers??
Just a thought...

Slow on charging

Hi,
is anyone elses Nexus 5 becoming kind of slow when it is connected to the charger? I mean it doesnt feel snappy in the menus like there is an input delay.
is this normal behaviour?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Are you charging it using an AC wall outlet or via USB on a computer? It will charge slower on USB but if plugged into a wall, should charge rather fast.
If it's not seeming snappy, perhaps try a restart first and see if that affects anything.
its on both, AC and USB and i am not referring to the speed of charging rather then to the speed of the phone.
It was on Stock and now it is on Catalysm with Franco too.
If i unplug it everything is back to normal.
A reboot doesnt fix it
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I would venture a guess that your kernel settings have messed it up. Roll back to stock and see if it resolves itself.
do you think just a flash of the stock kernel resetts those settings? i have had this Problem with the stock Rom too. (cant say how it was before unlocking and rooting, did that right away)
edit: after a bit of searching i found similar threads but on other phones.
they say it could be because of interferences from the cable with the digitizer.. ill try another charger and then flashing back to the stock kernel

Hey guys,
I just wanted to bump up this thread and see if this is a common issue or not. My Nexus 5 becomes really unresponsive and choppy while charging, especially when scrolling or pinch-zooming. I've tried different chargers (from other manufacturers because I don't have a second "original" Nexus 5 charger) as well as different sockets but it happens everytime - sometimes it's less noticeable but it's never the phone never feels as responsive as it should or as it feels while unplugged.
I've also made a little video demonstrating the problem: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/74551292/nexus5_slow_while_charging.mp4
I also read threads about this issue happening on other devices with hints to the charger being the source of error. Because of my tests with other chargers I'm not so sure. Although all of my other chargers do have a lower output (maximum of 1A) instead of the original charger's 1.2A.
So what do you guys think?
