just a FYI the SGS tools app which allows you to replace your tw launcher, email, contacts, and gallery app works for our sgs 4G. i have tried em all (upgrade stock apps) and can confirm they are all working. If you want to go back the scripts dont work, but you just need to move the stock apk back from sd>sgstools>xxx.apk into system>app> using root explorer or similar... and it will revert. also the boot up/down sounds can be disabled through the app

If I had to guess the email app on there that is made for the tab will get really buggy when used with exchange. Crazy thing is, it takes a few days to show up. You may have better luck on this device. But my vibrant didn't like it..
Lastly, make back ups of the apps your gonna try and switch using this app. Easiest way titanium backup. That way you get your app back that's optimized for 2.2.1.
Might not make a difference. But never hurts to put a back up on your external

what cool about the app is it makes the back up of your apps on the sd card

the TW home replacement works as well...

yeah i dont use the email app but i do use the gallery and the tw home replacemnet...works like a charm..and the boot sounnds

My problemw with titianium backup is that it dosn't actually backup the system apps, just it's data

I just tried to use my FFC after the camera hack & it does not work anymore, it says camera failed. I tried to restore from Titanium and copied the .apk from the sgstool back up with no luck.
Anyone else having the same issue? I just flashed the Krylon's stock + root rom and did a factory reset but the issue is still there. Do you think I can pull the files from a system dump to remedy?

Try flashing the deodexed version 1.9.. when Odin reboots you into factory recovery do the factory reset. And then reboot.

Thanks Aloneinshadow, but I had the dump from a previous post. I pushed datapattern_420sp.yuv & datapattern_front_420sp.yuv to /system/cameradata along with restoring camera.apk & camerafirmware.apk to /system/app and rebooted with no luck. BUT when I ran Tango and used the FFC it worked and fixed my issue. I do not know why but its fixed now. Im never going to use SGSTools again unless its made for KB5.

Ok thank God I was able to revert my camera back, the hacked camera didn't allow me to record videos. Quick question, why is it that our phones don't have autofocus for video recording but all over YouTube there are vibrants that have it?

Mine doesn't have autofocus, it does only for taking pictures but not video....I've tried it soo many times and while recording video the focus never changes, it just stays fixed.

Arghhh, WHERE!!! is the gallery fix in SGS Tools??

This release is release-key signed which leads me to think it could become the 'official release'
This release does NOT include an updated baseband, which will follow later (as soon as I have it, so will you)
I have repacked the ROM to update zip format and pre-rooted it, that aside, it's 100% stock
Please do not deep link or mirror / rehost the update zip
Ensure you make a backup before installing

Don't revert back to stock, BACK UP, do ALL wipes and flash assuming u have cwm recovery through nvflash!!

You should be able to just do a "full wipe" and flash.

Thanks. I will do just that in few mins once it is done downloading. I really need a good backup and restore app. Looks like each time i flash i have to RESTORE all my apps and settings....what a pain.

Best camera app for CM7 ?

Hey,
The default camera app is not that good in cm7 compared to the stock one.....is there some other camera app that is good to use?
An app that takes high quality pictures like the stock camera app?

Just download root uninstaller in the stock rom delete the original stock camera app but do a backup first the just look for the backup apk in ur phone n when u in cm7 install it. it might work.

The LG stock camera app will not work in CM7. It requires LG framework (If I'm not mistaken) and will just produce a FC. This was being worked on but there has not been any updates on it.

Question about cameras.

I am trying to get the camera that Faux uses in his AOSP. 2.3.5, to work on the Weapon rom. I pulled the apk but it won't install. It worked fine on my Cliq with a 2.3.4 rom. I like that camera because you can use volume buttons to take pic and it snaps off the pic very quickly. Any ideas? Thanks

You may have to put it in the system.app folder of the ROM zip and flash it again. Also remove the camera in the ROM zip first.

[Q] Major problemo

Heys guys.....need some urgent help. i recently got my samsung infuse rooted. now when i get calls..............i cant hear the person callin and they cant hear me. it really sucks since i'm missin alot of important calls. also i cant seam to stream vids from the internet like before. is there something i need to do. any help greatly appreciated:good::good::good:

to be honest i dont kno. i got a zip file that said infuse root.zip. and erecovery, followed the steps on youtube and i was pleased to see the superuser app on my phone. but since then till now i cant play vids off the net and when i answer my phone or make a call the other person and myself hera absolutely nothing

I checked out qbkings videos and they are all a year old I would suggest checking out this thread its got the easiest method I think to get rooted and cwm recovery included plus it will help you out if you ever get in a jam be sure to read read read
