Got my TD a week ago & almost gotten used to the onscreen keyboard, coming off a QWERTY hard button Curve, Treo 680 and Moto Q9h... But still miss the typing speed on hard buttons...
Anybody else wants something like this? Get a company like KiDiGi to make it for me/us?

Hi there everyone !
I like to share this with everyone reading this page .
I have for a long time used the original Htc leather case to slot into the driver's side on the top blinder's flap with the Htc x7510 attached to it whereby you can use the pda anyway you like and it is very useful indeed as an alternative to using a bluetooth device / speaker phone . Here is how :-
1) take out the magnetic keyboard & store inside glove compartment temporary ,
2) flip the blinder's flap downwards & adjust to your preference not to hinder your eyesight of the road in front ,
3) slot in the x7510 with the leather case attached to it without the keyboard ,
4) slot it in all the way until the case touches the flap , leaning on it , if you touch behind the blinder's flap , you can feel the other half of the leather cover fully extended out - this is ok , your x7510 should be only in horizontal position & is upside down btw ,
5) power on your x7510 , go to settings , go to screen , tap screen orientation to landscape ( left-handed ) or tap until the screen is normal that you will see & not upside down ,
6) now you have to adjust the flap either push a bit forward or backwards to suit your eyesight because it depends on how tall you are and how far or deep you sit in the driver's seat , make sure the case with pda does not flaps and move too much during your drive - adjust backwards a bit normally for me ,
7) you now can use your device to make hands free speaker phone calls , better with all windows wound up , or you can use your gps display , or you can play movies for your friends - put the device in the passenger side then , it all depends on your liking , as for me i use it to receive and make calls with windows up and hifi down all the time because when you speak to the device , your voice actually bounced up the ceiling of your car and into the mic , the stereo speakers of x7510 is quite audible when your windows is up , you can always adjust the pda volume , the phone volume and the volume while you are speaking , and the blinder's flap will hold the device in place firmly , rather than putting it on your dashboard or some other pockets around the front of your car .
Thank you for reading , if you like to share your experience & suggestions , pls feel free to reply & quote on this subject - jimmunsw
My Arrangement
this is how i did it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3295584&postcount=16
Hi there ! Thanks for some very good & clear photos . However , i also did thought of putting our x7510 that way via the pda holder that suck on the windscreen , and put it somewhere near what you have positioned - i cared for my x7510 too much that i am afraid of the cool air of my car aircondition will blow cool moist water into my device and may corrode my set or it's battery ! It happened before to my watch on while i am driving without realising after a while of not even direct air condition blow , my watch have vapours on the inside of the watch face ! Therefore , i always put metal things or electronic devices away from aircond' blow duct . But anyway if you have used it with Ok then it is a good way to display your device because that's where it is best located - just like bmw and mercedes benz , they too display their center control & gps in the best place possible for the driver's first then for the others as second priority .
Thanks & regards - jimmunsw
Hi friends, I bought a HTC FUZE but I have some problems with my device....
1) the buzzer speaker didn't work but I send the FUZE to a repair center....they told me that the problem was the FLEX....they repair the flex and now the speaker works again....I'm happy with the result....but
2) After the reparation, the keys in front of the hone doesn't work propperly.....I mean the left, rigth, up, down keys and Home key, back key, send and end key......and the scroll whell doesn´t work frecuntly.....I will explain....when I press left key for example it goes to home screen when I press rigth key is like I press the end key...all keys are really wear....my question is....
Is this a flex problem????? I'm wondering if the people in rpair center damaged the flex...Thanks for your answers.
Sounds like they hav damaged the navicap, you will need to send it bk get it replaced
whats the navicap??? so the problem is not the flex??? Thanks for your answer.
The navi cap is the panel underneath the screen, it sounds like they have damaged it during the repair as you said it is registering but not the correct buttons, i sugest you contact them and ask them to replace it, or you could buy a new one online and replace it yourself, its quite a simple procedure, take a look at the wiki
Hi,
I've bought a new keypad for my fox, and I know the maintenance-file in Vox-Wiki, but I hope to change keypad without totally disassembly of the housing of my mobile. Has anybody changed his numeric keypad yet? And if yes - can you explain how you did this ?
Regards Odiad
The numeric keypad is glued to the keys-PBA and the upper part of it needs to be inserted underneath the LCD afaik. With some force you may be able to remove the old keypad from the keys-PBA, but it is very difficult to put back the new keypad to the device. It is already hard to do it right when having the phone taken apart. Also do the replacement keypads usually not have the glue included to attach it to the PBA. If you ommit the glue however, then pushing the D-pad up button will lift the rest of the keypad. It will never be as good as it was original and it gets worse when you do it without dis-assembly of the device.
hi Tobbie,
thanks for the discription. Sounds that it makes no sense to try at the moment. My keypad looks bad, but phone works. And I still want to use it. And before I will break it completly I accept the bad look.
So I will change only if current keypad don't work and I have to repair.
Regards Odiad
If the keypad does no longer work, then replacing just the rubber+keys above the PBA will not help you. What I say is that you may not get a perfect optical result and you need good skills to do that. Contrary to previous HTC devices (Typhoon, Hurricane, Tornado) where the parts are well separate and only screws keep the parts together - the VOX has this very bad construction of the numeric keypad in the front. Also the key-PBA is glued to the frame, so removing it will destroy it. If you can get hold of a complete new front including the already assembled keys-PBA, keyboard all together then a replacement is rather easy and the results are satisfactory. Sometimes they sell such items on ebay, but is always mandatory to ask if the keys-PBA (sometimes called "membrane") is also in the offer - often it is not!
