Android Ported To C# - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Here's a slashdot link to the story.

Lets hope some hotshot devs give this a thought. I really think this could be the evolution of android for all devices.

Agreed
I am very interested in hearing what the Cyanogenmod people could do with this.
If Android official moved to this...

Cm9?

I saw a very early version of cm9 over on the Milestone 2 forums. Could we ever see it on this device?

Who are the developers and where is the thread that discusses this? Or are you referring to Isaac & Tickerguy (who sold his Triumph) over at AndroidForums? It'd be more helpful to point the project so other new people (lurking) could contribute to help, rather than have a bunch of people duplicating the same effort, it may go faster if everyone collaborates.
I read that cm9 for MT would be ics 4.0 based can't wait!

I thought both those guys are off the triumph. I'd like to know who's doing further dev work off 4.0, too.

TickerGuy sold his MT, Isaac is still updating the repo for other new builders (his MT won't charge, but may be getting a replacement), he mentioned that he wants to wind down development for the MT. It's discussed more actively on another forum (I guess I won't post link here, but if you do a search for "Motorola Triumph ICS" you'll probably find it.

#JDR0iD# **RECRUITING A TEAM NOW**SEE 4 DETAILS

Hi all
I will be looking for a team to work under JDR0iD Development Team (JDDT) to release high quality roms to the community. Anyone interested please.pm me with what skills /experience you can bring to team. Ideally we will be looking to release sense, aosp, cm9 and miui based roms to the community so you should be expected to build from source and will be managing and leading each campaign individually. For example I will be managing the sense project as I am more famililar with this work.
how ever I am no official dev but have a minor understanding and have created few roms in the past on sensation and desire which is why this opportunity is open to all.
I am Doing this to help people be part of potentially something big and to allow them to utilize their hidden skills and share their work to the Android community this could include work that's already released but re branding to a team that will have work across all bases.
REQUIRED
- An experienced dev to work with and manage the MiUI project
-An experienced dev to work with and manage the cm9 and/or aosp project
-An experienced themer to theme all roms including framework, icons, m10 hacks smalli etc to visually look and feel the same across all projects.
- Possibly a .mtz themer. If the miui coodinater would benefit from a custom themer.
-A designer to assist theming icons etc specific to JDR0iD but primarily to brand the team including logo / headers / signitures and so on.
-Somebody who can help with hosting/creating a site to share our work as I am not in a position to pay at the moment.
All credits will be given as a team under the JDDT and feel this would be really beneficial to the community and I am looking to recruit asap to start working on releasing the roms asap.
Send me a pm with why you want to join and maybe linking me to any previous work you have made and selections will.be made by Sunday 26th Feb 2012.
This is an idea I think will.be beneficial, any feedback appreciated.

In my dream world this will make it into the real Android...
My understanding of building an OS is extremely limited, I'm just a user. But based on the article, it implies that this OS was run on two different devices (HTC Flyer and Acer Iconia Tab) with improvements noted... and the team that developed XobotOS isn't working on this anymore, but released their work to the public... does this mean that in theory, developers could take this and build for other platforms at this point? Would it even be worth developers looking into this?

Not really, because most/all apps are coded for Java, so would stop working

I am a big fan of .NET (and off course Mono), I was thinking of starting a similar project myself, but unless Google approves this project and merges it with AOSP it's kinda pointless...
If there will be a high-level translator integrated into the OS, I will surely try to port it over to my device (Acer Liquid Metal).
Hey all... don't be so sure! Check this from xda news:

Will anyone be porting Open WebOS to the Inspire?

Just wondering if anyone is going to be working on WebOS once it becomes open source to port it to the Inspire.

Don't get your hopes up. It will be a beast of a job to port WebOS, and it will only happen on our phone if a very dedicated developer decides to work on it.
if you are interested in owOS I am part of a group that will be developing the OS and looking into manufacturing a phone to go along with it. If you are interested you can find a little more information at our site phxdevices[DOT]com
I'd like to see this too. I'm a full blown flashaholic android junkie now, but was a WebOS fan before I discovered my love for android.
