I see that... I'll re-host on dropbox and update the links tonight.
So...downloading the zip and flashing thru the bootloader should get me back to a stock tmobile gingerbread rom? thanks for the clarification.
I'm on inquisition with 3.32 firmware and really need my wifi calling back.
thanks!

At GROGG88 great idea, with the stupid file sharing situation like it is, it is definitely good to have other places to get files like this. I currently have to go fix my link to the Google Drivers in the HD2 NAND toolkit thread in the HD2 NAND Android forum as I just found out that I get the dreaded FBI Anti-Piracy Warning message when you click on it.

Just boot into Hboot and then run the RUU as administrator. If you want to flash it via recovery you will have to re flash the stock recovery via ADB fastboot commands. Then you can flash it with recovery.
If you would like your apps to auto Install I would suggest downloading the Google Play Store apk and put it on your SD Card and install after you setup your google account before you agree to the teams of Service in the outdated android market
So this will automatically flash the right firmware and everything and not lose S-Off correct?

Conflicting reports as to whether or not you can use the OTA with root. If it fails then delete /system/superuser.apk and /system/bin/su
I have not tried running an OTA with root so I cannot say for certain if it will fail.
Either way, you'll need to reinstall a custom recovery and either superuser or supersu after the update.
So exactly how do we do this lol ...Im S-Off with SuperCID and running 3.32 FW and ICS rom I have DL'ed both files and all I want is to be able to OTA when it comes ?

U can't just flash a ruu as simple as that.First...boot in bootlader and write everything you see there.

sorry if you have a custom recovery installed you can flash a rom.zip extracted from any 2.10.401.x ruu.then you are stock again.if this doesn t work rename the rom.zip to PG88IMG.zip and put it in the root of your sd card:boot into bootloader and wait the bootloader to flash the update.
---------- Post added at 06:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:06 PM ----------
how can you extract a rom.zip from a ruu?simple.Download the ruu you want (but i suggest you downloading this one RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.8_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_225161_signed).Run the ruu. When the window HTC ANDROID phone rom update utility appears don t click next.Open start>run and type %temp%.A window will pop up.
These are your pc's temporary files. Then search type in the search box rom.zip or sort them by date (the most recent to oldest files) then do a manual search in every folder for an archive named rom.zip.
If you think you are "too lazy" to do this i will upload a rom.zip and will give you the download link.HOPE this helped!

now I thought i could fix this since im always flashing roms but at this point ill put any rom on just to get it to work and ill leave it alone forever!
this is what i have all done already
-i already factory reset everything and download the super wipe and flashed it then flashed a rom and noting!
-ive tried using roms that are gingerbread instead of ics and nothing!
-ive tried flashing different roms, and nothing!

now here is what i think i dont have the 3.32 firmware but to be completely honest and i have gone to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618 but i dont know my cid so idk which one to download but i did try 3 and when i try to flash that zip in recovery it says "aborted" and usually when i put it on the root of the card it doesnt read it like ive read it is suppose to ask you if you want to update..
all i know is when i take the battery out its pg5100
i really need help, ive tried everything and i know its fixable i dont wanna give up!
so any help will be great! in advance thank you so much! im loosing sleep trying to fix it this!
I'm assuming you didn't flash the firmware yet right? The easiest way to flash a firmware is to get super cid (11111111). Go hereand follow step 4. Then you can flash this without worrying. The second link is just to the 3.32 firmware.

It's "PG58IMG.zip" not P"S"G58IMG.zip. If the name is incorrect, then it won't work.
You cannot do it from recovery, you must do it only from bootloader.
The reason I'm insisting on 4EXT is because it's much easier to use.
Follow my instructions properly.
And if you find all this difficult, just go to my tool, link in signature.
When it asks you to connect in HTC Sync mode with debugging enabled, just boot to recovery instead.

i made sure the spelling was correct and my phone still doesnt read it...
As the title says. I just bought a hox at&t version and did a root metod and it failed. The phone is still save and I can normally use it. Now I want to re-flash the stock firmware that the phone was runing the first time I used it. I am scared with the fact about I wouldn't update to Jelly Bean beacuse it might contains any corrupt file due the failed root.
Is there a detailed how to'' guide? I only see guys in here says about flash RUU.
please help!
If you are going to give up that easily, than maybe root is not for you.
What firmware number (1.85, 2.20, etc.) is the phone now? What root method did you try? Root method varies by firmware version, so its a common mistake to use the wrong one. Also, even with the correct method, you may need multiple attempts before its successful (not necessarily due to anything you are doing wrong).
If you truly want to return to stock, just find the RUU for your version number. Download to your computer. Connect the phone via USB. Then just run the RUU. Its an .exe, no guide needed.
Links to the RUUs are on my Index thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
thanks for the reply!! now I'm downloading the RUU, but if I do Root and want to come back stock again, only flash the correct RUU file? What about bootloaders (relock)? and kernel?

RUU flashes everything: Stock recovery, radio, kernel, and I believe hboot. It will also wipe the phone, so backup anything you want to keep. As DvineLord said, your bootloader needs to be locked. Other than that, just run the RUU, and it does the rest.

Make sure you dowload the right RUU for your firmware version. RUU will only run if the RUU is the right CID, and same version number or a later one (older RUU will not run).
So, I used to be an Android expert and knew what was wrong just by the symptoms of the problem, having had an iPhone for about 4 months has changed all that. I'm still familiar with some of the stuff, fast boot, installing a recovery, mostly basic things, so I come here to the community I uses to help in.
Here's my issue: Viper ROM was installed, and I wanted to try out Rebel ROM. Downloaded it, but wouldn't connect to my computer through the ROM, so I booted to recovery to mount the internal storage.
It wouldn't flash, stating an error, tried CleanROM, same error. Now there's no OS on the phone, so I decided to RUU so I'd have something too work with.
Its on 2.20 so I downloaded that one, and program ran fine till it told me there was an error and so I can't even have a stock ROM.
TL;DR It can boot to recovery, fast boot, but can't flash a ROM or RUU. Any ideas? Thanks guys for your replies.

Flashing boot img through fastboot...
download the file in the link which above which will include adb and fastboot....put that on your computer somewhere you can find it.. now take the boot image out of the Rom zip and place it in that folder... Boot your phone into bootloader scroll down and select fastboot and now open a command prompt with in the fastbootbadb folder on your comp and type to command without the quotes "fastboot flash boot boot.img"...now go wipe in recovery and install the Rom it doesn't matter if you keep the boot img in the Rom zip or not

S-on is a simple fastboot command.
But that way you don't get stock system.
Easiest way if you are S-off is a hboot downgrade and running a RUU.

You have a branded phone. That means, you need a backup (from yourself or maybe someone else) with the exactly same software number to get the next update. It does not help to flash a free, stock rom.
