MIUI Launcher on ICS ROMS!!! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Just saw this on the xda portal and gave it a spin.
I can confirm it does work. It is relatively smooth but not at its maximum potential due to the fact the max clock on ics is 1.18 ghz.
All themes work great and it even changes your lockscreen.
Here is the link to the rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623026
I take no credit for this just wanted to put it out there that this does work on the skyrocket.
All credits to ZACQ8.

Good deal man, thanks for the share! (I'll be thanking ZacQ8 as well)
[edit]+1 for functioning, its amazing.

Thanks for the confirmation both of you, was looking forward to trying this and hoped it would work. Off to try!

This launcher works great on my Skyrocket running SkyICS. But since my dpi is 180 and you can't change the grid size... Every thing was small and I couldn't stand it

Hello All
I know that we just got a custom recovery but it is not perfect and beleive me that i am working on getting a full rom for you guys to load but please enjoy this awesomeness in the meantime
Remember that the root method and bat script were originally made by joeykrim and noobnl. these guys have done more than an awesome job of setting us up as root users
it will be out to the public in 3-4 days.
*****Thread closed awaiting the public release of a freely available item here on XDA****
Here is what this ROM thingy does:
gives permanent root
uses my speed and battery optimized frameworks with moderate theming to rid of the ugly
transparent notification pulldown
using my default ringtones
using my default wallpaper
themed launcher
removed touchwiz and all apps associated with touchwiz launcher
removes alot of sprint/samsung bloat apps (dumb apks)
using my custom kernel which is overclocked
kernel adds 600mhx step to avoid overaggressive changes
undervolted cpu
tweaked conservative governor to scale up and down faster for better speed/battery
kernel is undervolted
slight edits to cpq for speed
circle battery indicator
added htc ime to sdcard
config edits on kernel for speed
version with andromeda kernel
problems:
with my current kernel the phone has a hard time booting. it may boot the first time everytime but it also might boot loop. I advise to try to put the phone to sleep right when the lockscreen comes up.
also with the undervolt you might notice the phone being a little bit slow to wake from sleep mode but the undervolt has helped alot on battery.
**I would still recommend this kernel as I have been running it for like 5 days and its really good. all the issues will be fixed soon
i do not beleive these problems arise on noobnl's kernel so i included his in a version.
things you need:
windows
adb drivers for the epic
the zip file of the version you want
recommended:
i strongly. i mean very strongly recommend you start from scratch. meaning use odin to restore back to the stock phone.
SCREENSHOTS:

[ROM-AOSP][02-23-2012] Evervolv | GRJ90/Android 2.3.5 | v1.2.0a3 | Updated Links

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I am glad to finally bring you the Evervolv series of ROM's.
First thing I would like to say is that this rom would not be possible without the CyanogenMod team. I am merely here to bring you how I like my phone setup and give you more options over a base build of the gingerbread genre. My qualifications are inferior to what is required on some of the fixes that were made. Thus I rely on the CyanogenMod Team for their expertise in these fields.
The current team of Evervolv constists of:
preludedrew - Droid Incredible, Evo 4G, Evo Shift 4G & Nexus one maintainer; overall support & development
mwielgosz - Liberty, Evo 4G, Evo 3D maintainer; Java development
cocide - Evo 4G; Web; Linux and overall support & development; Viewsonic GTab maintainer/support
milesje - Evo 4G; java and overall support & development
Adhvanit - Graphics and Droid Incredible support.
RyteSyde - web and graphics development; Evo Shift 4G support
TpyoKnig - Web support and hosting.
smoothtaste - heroc support/maintainer

Q&A
Is this CM7?
No, this is a build that started from AOSP. However, some of the fixes and few features have been derived from the CyanogenMod Team, including the CM kernel.
How social is the evervolv team?
You can join us on IRC, irc.freenode.net #evervolv. Or follow preludedrew and the status of Evervolv @preludedrew on twitter.
For updates on development from mwielgosz, follow @Xbones_dev on twitter!
Sweet! May try this out soon

It's not 100% ready for mainstream use but I expect that to change in the next day or so. Also, there are a number of tweaks and modifications that were part of the Savaged-Zen ROM (my old dev team) that I wrote which I plan on bringing into Evervolv once time allows.
That said, expect some cool stuff to happen with this ROM over the next few weeks!
Very cool! Can't wait to try it out
Sleek!
Promising!
Thanks!
Tried it out. Hardware functions seem to work well. Was able to Bluetooth pair with my laptop and transfer a file (can't find my headset ATM). WiFi seems to work well, GPS lock was quick indoors. I don't know if it's just the weather or what, but GPS seems better than CM7. That is, if I exit Maps and do some other stuff for a few mins, CM7 would always try (and struggle) to locate me again, even if I haven't moved. This ROM seems to retain that info better, if that makes any sense.
Status bar notifications seem to be working. My wifi icon turned green when connecting to Google services, but not the signal bars--don't know if that is by design.
Power widgets are nice and work well.
Sent and received an SMS without problems.
Really like the slide up dock tray in the launcher!
Forgot to test hotspot...
hope this helps some
Edit: but yes, there are a ton of Google framework/Apps FCs, which you already know about.
great!waiting for more stable version soon, thank you!
phone/dialer fc's every time I open it, but other than that I love it.
Awesome. Been waiting for pure AOSP experience. I'll give this a shot later on today. Thanks for adding another ROM to the Liberty Collection!

For an alpha this is very stable and snappy.
Just a constructive remark: the choice of the font needs to be re-evaluated, it makes certain things very hard to read...not very "ergonomic" to the eyes...
Keep up the good work !

I agree with the change of font and we've talked internally about this matter. I'm going to post flashable zips with stock and good looking fonts soon. The default font included won't change but I will offer options soon.
There is a thread in the evo4g forums that offer over 300 flashable fonts. They work with this rom and are worth looking into. Personally, I prefer the Ubuntu 10.10 font offered in that thread.

I haven't flashed this yet, but see if replacing DroidSans.tff & DroidSans-Bold.tff in /system/fonts does the trick. You could pickup the CM7 fonts, or try any other True-Type font.
EDIT: Type Fresh, created by XDA member openback, also lets you change fonts. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/type-fresh-change-fonts-on-your-rooted-android-device/
Just tried it, pretty smooth. A few things that bug me: 1, the colorized icons, maybe make a flashable zip that make them stock again? 2, the font, already been covered so I ain't gonna say much except that when I flash the Ubuntu font, some letters are boxes, happens in other ROMs too. Fixable? And that's all I gotta say, otherwise I really like it, good job!

[ROM] DJ ICS Plus V2.0 OC 1.728ghz (02/09/2012)

What is DJ ICS?
DJ ICS is a mix of a great theme and an arguably the best ROM for the i727.
This is what you get when you mix Sky Ice Cream Sandwich with ICS Perfection. There are two different versions. DJ ICS (based on stock skyice) and DJ ICS Plus (based on speed sky ice).
Antutu score of 7144
Special thanks to:
seanzscreams & wali01x for all their hard work with Sky Ice and ICS Perfection.
Code:
[B]Change Log:
Fixed battery
Fixed Haptic Feedback & Vibration
A few other small fixes[/B]
Code:
[B][COLOR="Red"]Known Bugs:[/COLOR][/B]
Force close of ICS Laucher on boot
Once it the launcher restarts it doesn't happen again
There is an issue with Faux Clock
Run it to set your clock speed, but do not let it set on bootup
When this happens your second core goes into sleep mode.
I have done testing with System Tweaks and have moved to that for my overclocking needs
I will leave Faux in there for now but if I don't find a fix it may be replaced in the next version
Install Guide:
Use Clockwork Mod
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
install zip from SD Card
Restart phone and wait for everything to settle and the media card scanner to complete before touching anything.

Please note I have been having trouble with my Dev Host account the files say they are 0 bytes but are there if you click the download link. I have tested flashing to make sure they work

Took it for a quick spin:
First thing I noticed, the Charging Battery Icon is not scaled properly - it blinks from Fat battery (w/charge symbol) to skinny plain battery (no symbol). Flashing one of Seanz battery mods reverts the theme back to the original SkyceCream theme.
I like the the pop-up boxes and grey treatment, although they appeared a little dark compared to the ICS build my GF's Nexus runs. One of the things I did not like about Seanz theme are the blue borders and the 'thinking' swirl, I like the basic look. Other than that, was quick and speedy just like Seanz build... which I have reverted back to for now.
What I was really hoping for was a UI that could be scaled correctly with a DPI change, without various UI elements losing their formatting.
Whoah, where did haptic feedback go?
Good rom, just one think. Why did you remove at&t visual voice mail ? This is great addition if you have at&t.

Yeah I see haptic feed back isn't working on the speed not sure about stock so I will take a look. I broke it along the way some where, but will should be able to find it pretty quickly and fix it.
As for the battery, I will fix that tonight.
Any interest in a circle battery?
I am more of a stock battery kinda guy but I know some people just love that circle battery.

[ROM] HexperiaC-CM7.2 Stable: Updated 7/18/12

rom updated to cm7.2 stable and deodexed. nothing else changed, as the vibe i get is its pretty darn good as it sits.
this one was easy, its the cm7.2 stable base, with stuff added on top of it. i tried out ra3al's xperia home replacement, and boy was my mind blown. its just elegant, plain and simple. and it runs pretty good on our hero's too.
things added:
xperia s launcher and widgets from ra3al
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557091
xperia s boot animation
and i added the default wallpaper from ra3al's wallpaper pack available in his app's thread, and added xperia s fonts.
im not a developer, i just borrow things i think are mind blowing. if you want and see fit to, please find donate links for ra3al. he is a real dev, and is insanely talented. all praise to him and other devs.
this is cm7.2 final for our heroc's straight from cyanogenmod, so if something doesnt work that is not related to the xperia apps or theme, please ask cyanogenmod.
everything should work, except for an already known about bug with the tools widget. the brightness setting will fc, and its because i havnt had the chance to sign all of ra3al's apps and this rom with the same stuff. im looking into it.
i suggest using an app such as script manager and using a script such as v6 supercharger to supercharge rom and bulletproof launcher.
also please flash a gb gapps package after installing
now for the download link:
HexperiaC

happy flashing!
and if you have any feedback, requests, etc, please let me know
Will test tonight report back later

Thank you so much for bringing this smokin' port to the HeroC. I have tried CM 07 previously but this version seriously rocks our lowly Hero!!!!!!!!!! By far, hands down the best ROM I have run on this device...smooth and fast and I have encountered zero issues running this as my daily on Sprint!
sorry it took me so long to respond but im absolutely glad you like it nukeboy
May I ask what have you've changed/added except the launcher? I want to do a same project using the launcher, which is a great app with mind blowing animations, and porting will be time consuming instead of just making my own mod.
Cheers
hey 1ceb0x
i added the launcher and all the associated apks to a clean fresh copy of cm7.2rc3 (which by the way i need to update this so its cm7.2final)
link to launcher and widgets download: http://boekenhuis.net/xperia/xperia_s_home.html
i messed with framework-res.apk and changed out the default wallpaper also
for boot animation, i found an xperia one on google somewhere, cant remember the link off hand
and i replaced some fonts with xperia ones i found through google search (can remember link either).
hope that helps.
The smoothest rom yet!
However, programs sometimes take a long time to load: gmaps, browser, and slacker. I'm assuming these programs expect a faster phone?
I'm not sure, but it seems better than other roms.
yeah some things will be a little bit slow, the pace of android is almost starting to leave us in the dust.
glad you like this rom, and when i get a chance ill update it to cm7.2 final and reupload
Giving this Rom a go. Install and boot went well. Pretty fast 1st boot up. Started up the Market and took two or three times to get to initial screen. Been searching for a couple apps but it seems to stick in loading cycle, and rebooted a couple times but still struggling to find any apps from search as they continue to stick in Loading. Appears to be quick and responsive with touch and movement so far. OK after about five minutes the app Titanium Backup finally came up.
hey cheyennemtn,
glad you like it. those market screwups could have been the market updating, as the gapps usually offered are not exactly bleeding edge.
for titanium backup, i dont personally use it so i can attest to the speed or lack therof on hexperiac, but it could be due to the fact that the heroc is getting older by the day and many programmers are leaving us in the dust left and right.
thanks for testing! if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know. im gonna update this when i get a chance to cm7.2 final, so that might make things move a little smoother also.
Cool
Finally installed gapps!
Great Rom
Anyone who stills owns the Hero has to try this Rom. Extremely smooth once everything warms up. Use it with V6 supercharger and it is awesome for a device that is as old as ours.
as a wifi enabled device only
i love going back to the Hero and checking out new ROMs. good work on this one, fun! i primarily use it in airplane mode (with wifi on).
i'm kind of surprised no one has put out (that i've seen) a ROM that removes the radio, dialer and messaging apps. i wonder if i could remove the apps with titanium without screwing things up. no big deal but it would be nice to not see the No Service message.

Reqest Fixed app for EB ICS CM9

Hello Devs & MOD's - Specially to EaglesBlood
I newly moded my LG G2X to EaglesBlood ICS 4.0.4 ROM from the website & by all over tutorials from world wide web. ICS is working fine in my phone even I am loving the way EaglesBlood done the work. But while using the ICS I found 2 major apps getting failure (which I believe a general problem to a normal users like me, I am not so pro in this development & all).
1> Facebook App getting crashed while sharing any Image directly from the "Gallery" share button. Unable to open Facebook app.
2> Tubemate App is not working in the ICS. I getting crashed with in one second after I click the app to open.
3> Unable to rename the bootimage.zip with root explorer. It's keep saying "the file is on read only mode" so unable to update the bootimage I like.
This 3 major & essential apps I need if there is a fix version version any of them please post the link in reply (it will be so nice of you).
All of the games are running smooth, whatever the ROM seems to be laggy a bit time to time.
Fall in love with XDA Developers Forum. Thanks to all of the hardworking developers for whom I can enjoy ICS over the boring 2.3 android version of G2X.
Regards,
Dagcon™

Thanks for the info. mate. It really helps.
1 more question to you. "are you happy using using Hellfire ICS? Is it smooth & fast enough?"
Asking this before, I realy like the EB ICS's looks but it seems to be laggy & notresponding time to time or force close, so fixed my mind to get back to Stock ROM of LG. If you suggsest then I will give a try to the Hellfire's.
