Hi guys,
I emailed 3c, system tuners author, to request an app/add-on allowing notification CPU Temps, Not Battery Temps, as I have Anker with no temperature sensor, it will warn you at user defined temperatures and incorporate a widget, see below:
-----------------------
---------- Forwarded message ----------From: "Oliver Davis" Date: May 1, 2012 12:34 PM Subject: RE: System Tuner CPU Temp App To: "Cedric Counotte"
Yes that would be perfect, the only current way I can tell if my phone is overheating while playing full screen games is if it burns my right thumb on the screen, which isn't exactly as accurate as I would like haha,
also, could it pop up with 'toast' notifications at user defined temperatures without a sound but vibrations, so you can find out if your overheating while in a full screen app without alarm bells blazing, I work in a quiet office lol,
Many thanks, hope to see this up soon

Hello Oliver,
System Tuner can indeed read CPU Temperature and show it in the widget. I have to build an icon pack for it to display the CPU temp in notification bar. So that should cover it well.
Now an app only reading CPU temp at a user-defined rate, displaying it in the notification and raising an alarm on certain user-defined limit could be possible. Though if I do it, I’ll make sure it works as-is, but won’t do much maintenance on it, except bug fixes.
I’ll check if I can do both the notification icon and an app to od that Or maybe add the temperature alarm mechanism in the notification icon
Though within System Tuner, notification icons are only updated on screen-on, but I suppose temperature should not be an issue while screen is off, right?
Gonna start on this right now. The CPU temperature alarm within the notification app might be paid-only through Google in-app purchase.
How does that sounds to you? Reasonable?
Rgds,
Cedric.

Hi, I noticed System Tuner can read CPU Temperature, this is important for me as I have an Anker battery, so it has no built in temperature sensor,
My question is, could you make and publish an app that shows CPU Temp in notification bar, with a widget too, and be able to have temperature alerts,
My self and others on XDA Developers would be happy to pay £1-£2 for this,
I have a HTC Sensation that's clocked to 1.86ghz on both cores, so the temperature is important to me, so I don't fry it,
A bonus feature could be GPU temperature if you could read it, as that's overclocked too,
Email me for any more ideas or questions, and please let me know if you will or won't work on this,
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you zalaros for the feedback happy to see that you like it
For your request, I think that I did it in a better way:
1- Go to "Parameters" -> set "Shaking Intensity" to "Very small"
2- Set "Stop mode" of the alarm to "shake"
When the alarm goes on, all what you need is to take quickly the mobile in your hand (and if you want flip it quickly if it doesn't snooze) and it will snooze (or stop if there is no remaining repeats or you check "Direct stop after shaking" in "Parameters")
Give it a try and tell me what do you think
Don't forget to rate and commente the app please, when you have some free time
Thanks again,
Any other idea?

Any other idea of features ? , someone had tested the app on a tablette?
Thank you in advance for your great feedback
this seems to be a promising alarm application. I am using spb time for years and still think this is the king to beat.
It has every detail perfect including beautiful UI. one feature I missing from all the alarms is "auto snooze"
The alarm will play the sound for a given times and goes into snooze mode automatically.
For not that important alarm, I don't bother to flip or even touch the phone.
It also includes calendar/world clock/stop watch/count down. Imaging the calendar also includes the iso week number which
is missing even for some dedicated calendar app.
You can copy pate the alarm, which is a much better idea than alarm profile as every alarm you created can act as a profile.

Hello henrik.dk,
Thank you for the very interesting feedback, you know that SPB is like a legend on Play Store with there best seller SPB Shell 3D, but for their SPB Time app, i think that it isn't a real succes, as you can see the users don't realy like it (rating 3.1 and a lot of complaints) and there is no free version, so if you compare it to my paid app Alarm Plus Millenium, yes SPB time have features that mine don't have but Alarm Plus Millenium, have also other features that SPB time don't have and is cheaper so according to the features that you want you can choose one, you can see that all users of my paid app (41 users) are very satisfied cause they know that the app can do the work of 4 apps for a price of one.
I don't know if you tried my app, if yes you must see that it includes "auto snooze" , you choose the alarm duration and the number of repeats, so when the alarm goes on it will automatically snooze after the selected alarm duration time until the last repeat where it will stop
I agree with you and I really want to add all these features that you are talking about, but as i am not a super developer this will not be possible for now, but when the app will be a succes (I hope) with your help and encouragement I am sure that i will beat the king
Thanks again and i promise you to do my best to add the features you're talking about and improve the UI in the next updates
yes. you app is really good. I did give your app a try but just for a short of time. sorry I didn't notice how you archive auto snooze.
the reason of low rating of spb time is compatibility I would guess.

Translating strings and arrays in res.zip:
All who help with translations will be acknowledged in the app. The res/values directory contains the files strings_localizable.xml and arrays_localizable.xml with the English (US) words and phrases that would need to translated. As an example here is how the translation to Brazilian Portuguese worked:
Step 1) Copy the strings_localizable.xml and arrays_localizable.xml files from res/values to another location.
Step 2) Complete the translation of the words and phrases inside the xml tags.
Example 1:
<string name="app_name">Weather Station</string>
becomes
<string name="app_name">Estação Meteorológica</string>
Example 2:
<string-array name="pref_notifications_when_entries">

Rising

Falling

</string-array>
becomes
<string-array name="pref_notifications_when_entries">

Subindo

Caindo

</string-array>
Step 3) The translated files are placed into a new directory inside the res directory called values-pt (or values-pt-rBR). I can take care of this last step I just need to know what language it is and if it is limited to a regional dialect.

The pressure will work on any device that has a barometer (e.g. Nexus 4, Galaxy S3, etc). The temp and humidity will only work on a Galaxy S4 b/c it is the only device right now with a ambient thermometer and hygrometer.

As I explain in the Google Play listing, the auto start permission is to run a very short service to re-set the alarm so background readings can be taken. The service only runs for a split second and then kills itself. If you disable background readings the service won't run on restart.
I am very interested in knowing how accurate the temperate sensor is working on the S4. Can someone test this out with a dedicated temperature reader and tell me how accurate it is or how off it is in Fahrenheit? Thanks.
if u can add a temp warning notification , then it will be perfect...
like i am able to set it to warn if the temp goes over xx degree..
Oh thanks mate! I got these readings, first is in my home and second is from outside. That second is littlebit weird because internet shows that there is only +4 celsius.

How long were you outside for? Perhaps the phone needed to stay outside longer in order to read the temperature correctly (away from other heat sources like yourself or the sun)?? Or worst case scenario is that the S4 temp sensor is not that accurate (we would need to find some specs on the sensors that Samsung is using).
Adjust Temperature
Is there any way to calibrate the temp sensor.?
Currently most readying are way higher than actual readings
I spent half an hour trying to find out why the thank you button is not available for me but couldn't find out why.

This was debated by me when I was making the app and I decided not to include it (but may put it in a future release if it is greatly demanded). The logic is that the temperature sensors are supposed to be calibrated to high accuracy at the factory and should not lose accuracy over time. Thus the "actual reading" you are referring to IS the actual reading that the thermometer on the phone is reporting. If it is higher than another thermometer nearby, it is higher for a reason (probably because of your body temperature heating the sensor, or the sun, or some other reason). The question is why fudge that?
i guess your mobile must be in your pocket.. try expose it to the weather..

This will be in the next release.
I've noticed that the temperature on the S4 is always higher. The reason is probably that the S4 is a heat source in itself! Unless the temperature sensor is incredibly well insulated from the rest of the phone then it will always be affected. I might test this and take a reading but only after having left the phone off for some time like 30 minutes (to let it cool sufficiently) then switch it on and take the reading before too much heat has built up in the device.

If you want to translate this application into your language, here you have, what you need.
Some points from development:
Development took me more that 200 hours.
Development of component monitoring without UI took about 10 hours.
No 3rd party library was used.
Size of APK is only 103kB.
APK contains only application icon and 9-patch image for shadow, everything else are drawn into canvas.
I developed this app more for fun that I really need it.
Project was created in March 17, 2014 in Eclipse.
Application was tested on 7 android phones and 2 tablets before public release.
Application is written in Java in 7013 lines of code.
Known issues:
When you use same monitor twice (ex. RAM), in first one maximum is set at 2GB and in second one maximum is set max from all values, you will get unpredicted behaviour of second one.

Do you mean android widget? Why do you need it? What do you want to show on homescreen?
That's what I meant, widgets >.< (confusing).
For example, If I have 3 pages of homescreen, I can have one for extra apps, middle one for main used apps and third one for widgets, if I could see how my phone is doing just by swipping to the side instead of opening an app, it would be amazing.
(This app is great, if it were a widget to place on homescreen it would be really amazing, since most of those that exist are not very useful and very buggy).

Thanks to your thought, I have an idea that is easy for implementation. It is just simple 1x1 widget or some icon on homescreen for turn on monitor. So you do not have to go to the application, tap on enable and go back. You can just tap on icon on homescreen to show monitor.
I just uploaded a new version, which fixes some bugs.

Ram usage is calculated as MemTotal - (MemFree + Buffers + Cached).
3C CPU Manager (root), available on Play Store and XDA Labs, a simple CPU manager app that requires root for controlling both CPU and GPU. It allows you to set specific settings for standby to battery saving.
You can remove ads and unlock features using in-app purchases.
★ Highly Configurable UI allows you to transform the app into something you really like.
★ Shows a summary of CPU/GPU loads and frequency
★ Shows graphics of CPU/GPU loads, frequencies and temperatures *
★ Controls up-to 16-cores CPU settings
★ Configure governors settings.
★ View frequency usage table.
★ Set specific screen off configuration.
★ Creates multiple profiles that can be switched using a notification or launcher shortcut.
Depending on kernel support:
★ Set CPU/GPU frequencies, governor and voltages
★ Configure thermal configuration
★ Configure mp-decision daemons
★ Control cores separately
App can work with 3C Kernel Tweaker for tweaking SD, entropy, sysctl, gamma, sounds, etc...
Please report all your issues and feature requests in this thread.
The CPU Manager is not a new app, however I just updated it to support Android 4.0 up-to 9.0. Root is required to control CPU or GPU, not for viewing graphics and current states.
This new version has important change compared to previous:
SD tab is gone, integrated into 3C Kernel Tweaker.
New tab for defining multiple profiles allows switching easily.
Version 4.1a
Just published today, version 4.1a brings the following changes:
Full support for Qualcomm SD855 and Exynos 9820 (you will see and manage all 3 CPUs (actually there's one CPU with 3 clusters, but it's easier to name them CPU).
Add core numbers to each CPU
Add option to show/hide seconds in time table
To achieve support for unlimited multi-cluster (from little.big architecture), I had to rewrite some code, so if you have issues with cluster detection on your device, please let me know.
Hope you enjoy this update.
New notification packs
CPU Manager (package ccc71.st.cpu) has been suspended by Google while I was testing the new feature to download notification packs.
After testing Play Store on-demand features I had to revert the code, but mistakenly published (in beta) a version with XDA download mechanism, directly from my web site.
As a consequence, and because I noticed too late, the app has been suspended "permanently".
I've filled an appeal however there are very little chance that Google will let me update it to be compliant. If not, I'll have to publish the app under a new name and any previous in-app purchases will be lost.
Version 4.5.0i
Good news is Google has allowed me to update the app. So I paid particular attention to make sure new notification packs are downloaded from Play Store.
The app is being reviewed and it will take between a day to an entire week before it is available again on Play Store.
Another good news is that I've removed ads from the app (and all my apps) because too many issues where reported about them, issues with content or CPU drains.
Should you have paid for ads-free, (thanks for your support, always appreciated) you will never see ads in the app, even if I put them back (if Google ever fixes all the critical issues).

You can setup profiles in last tab on the far right. There you can setup as many profiles as you want.
If you only care for one default profile, you can tap the top-right button which shows a circle arrow and OFF/UPD/ON text inside. ON means it will be reapplied upon reboot.

If you refer to on-boot settings, you need to make sure app is excluded from Android OS battery optimizations as detailed here: https://3c71.com/optim
Hi there app using and assumably loving community,
One thing that is the bugbear of all alarm clocks is the functionality of the snooze button. This much-maligned button as it used to be back in the days of a physical alarm clock, has been detested and reviled for decades as it is the unfortunate bearer of the harsh reality for the poor sleeping soul, that one must eventually pull oneself from under the gloriously pleasant covers to face the harsh reality of the world outside.
I'm an avid user of alarm clocks on my Android (be gone iOS!) to get my life in a manageable state but find that alarms could be much better and more efficiently utilised if the snooze feature could be configurable at the time the alarm goes off instead of having to return to the specific alarm settings in the app. This could be a one off change where alarms have been set for repeat. This would make alarm usage much more versatile and save you from having to go back into the clock app and either edit the current alarm which you may not want to do as it's recurring or set another alarm.
I have searched high and low for such an app and am yet to find one. So could someone here please direct me to one that has this functionality or alternatively, I suggest that to the app coding community at large to take advantage of coding one as I think this would be a great feature that people would like that does not seem to have been recognised by alarm app coders. This is a brilliant feature that could be offered in the Pro version of an app, I'd definitely pay for it.
Thanks.
