[APP] [5.0+] Garble (Send Private Messages) V5.0 (10/09/2021) - Android Apps and Games

[APP] Garble (Send Private Messages) V4.0 (24/01/2020)
Updated 24/01/2020
Want to send private messages to family and friends? Don't want governments watching what you're saying? Then Garble is for you
Garble encrypts a string with a passcode of your choice, and then encodes the encrypted string with base64. The only way someone can decrypt it, is by using this app and and knowing the pass phrase you used.
Usage is very simple - decide upon a pass phrase with the person your going to be sending the message to before using
1) Enter some text
2) Type a pass phrase (or select a person from the 'Lock' icon)
3) Garble it
4) Share it
You can grab it from here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.minooch.garble
or support me and buy the paid version - just removes the please buy link, Ads have been completely removed.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.minooch.garble_premium
If you want any improvements - please let me know

Any Feedback?

Downloading. Will test and report.

Thanks

Gonna try it.

Feedback
Perfectly working. No issues.
But a suggestion:
Save passwords in profiles. Like person A with password xxx, person B with password aaa

Thanks to all for the feedback.
I have a look at saving the passwords against people's names - would make it much easier to remember. Thanks

Another suggestion:
Can you add a string to the code that recognizes that text is garbled with your app and automatically opens app and copy text to garble if I click on the text. I just have to type in the passphrase or choose it from a list (suggest in previous post).

That's a great idea - Will have a look on how to implement that.

That's now implemented & I believe it's working quite well - saving pass phrases is next

I've managed to get time to add this yesterday & it appears to be fully functional.
Although......
I can't update the app on the market because Admob banned me (no idea why & they won't say), so I've gone to a new ad provider & am waiting for approval. Hopefully I can release it soon

Version 2
Added the ability to save pass phrases by people's name - Click the KEY icon to use
On an existing item, a normal press will select & place the pass phrase on the main page. A long press will ask if you want to remove the item.
Also cleared the input field after Garble/unGarble

downloading!!!!

Works nice and I feel secure sending sensitive messages with this, but could you add built-in SMS abilities? I don't mind sharing with my SMS app, but the wifey won't use this app because she feels that sharing with the SMS app takes too long and is a pain in her ass.

Brilliant Idea!
Would test it but im the only android in my house and only a few mates have androids and they wont bother downloading the app for me to test it

be great if you could implement this kind of security into the built in sms app in some way that makes it simple to use without the person on other end having to be on android for it to work or having to input much if blackberry users can have this sort of security with not having to do anything be cool if we could do same

This is really cool! but I wish I had a secure way to tell them the password! with wiretaps and all everywhere... -paranoid-

Text Messenger - The Text Message Away Message

Hey all, I'm new here but was looking for an outlet to announce applications. I have just finished up my first Android App and was hoping for some reviews/comments/suggestions. Criticism Encouraged!
Text Messenger is a simple away message application for your Android phone. There is a full version for $1, and a DEMO version (where you cannot change the default away message) for FREE.
Give it a try, then give it a Buy!
EDIT: updated barcodes to go directly to Android Market, rather than through AndroidZoom.
Just checking in to see if anyone had a chance to review my app, and had any comments/suggestions/criticism?
To make it easier to find I will post some barcodes (DEMO and Full Version) for the apps.
Thanks.

I'll check out the demo version real quick and tell you my thoughts =P

Thank You.
Don't mean to be mean, but don't people take a non-reply to mean that the recipient is away/busy ?
I can't test this because I use gvoice for texting.

That's alright, I know this isn't for everyone. With the current state of texting, especially with the younger crowd, I have seen many instances where people say "What the [email protected]#$ why aren't they texting me back!!!"...I guess this is more for those types.
Also, I find myself in situations where I really should not be reading/responding to text messages but I end up giving in knowing there is a message. With Text Messenger you can set your Away Message and automatically put your phone on silent at the same time. So when I am driving, in class, or anywhere else where I shouldn't be answering a text I do not feel the urge.
Pretty cool - few suggestions
Hey, just checked out the demo version of the app. I'm a brand new Android user. Coming from windows mobile I needed an app like this. Just a few thoughts as to what would make this an even better app. These are just suggestions and ways that I would like to be able to use the app.
1. Allow for profiles to be set up. Such as during certain user defined times, the app automatically sets an away status.
2. Allow for away statuses to be enable for specific contacts, like a black/white list.
3. Set up a quick reply list so I can select from some predefined messages such as "Call if it's an emergency", "In class"...
Keep us updated...
Nice app by the way

I do not know why you would not be able to find my app? Did you try scanning the barcodes I supplied? Do you have Android 2.2?
Anyways, I attached the apk for the DEMO Version of the app. In this version you can not change the away message, but if you purchase the full version for $1 USD the away message is completely customizable.
Thank you for the interest in my app!

Thanks for trying out my app.
I plan on adding a customizable list of away messages, so you can easily set "In class" etc...look for that update soon.
The Black List & Scheduled away messages are a great idea, although the initial decision creating the app was to make it as simple and quick as possible. Adding these features would be great, but also add more complication. I suppose there is no harm in adding these as optional features though, since if people wanted a quick easy solution they could simply not enable them.
I will keep you updated on the changes coming, look for your #1 to definitely be added with the possibility of #2 and/or #3.
Thanks again for trying my app, and leaving feedback!
P.S. Anyone else that has tried the app it would be great if you could rate it on the Android Market. Only a few people have rated it/commented, and I know many more have given it a try.
I like the demo app. I would like to try the full version but don't see it on the Market. I tried the posted barcode and it never loads the link in the browser.
Thanks,
I downloaded the donation version to be able to say what I want. What an awesome application. I can easily say one of my top 5 most useful. I set it when I'm driving, in a meeting, flying (in the air force) or when I'm busy with a million other things. Here is my list of features I would love to see, forgive me for any duplicates from any other post;
1. A widget! One that when pressed will turn on the auto reply AND have a drop down list of saves/pre-made responses.
2. Option to turn off notification bar icon, I hate that big green booger on my minimalist bar.
3. Option to save messages for future use through a quicky list
4. Option to have messages be contact specific (I would love to see this and would justify a higher price as it would make this an essential app, on par with SetCPU!)
5. Lastly, some notification of auto reply being sent, I'm currently not seeing one on my phone.

I'm using Android 1.6 on my HTC Tattoo. I scanned the barcode but I think i cant find it because my resolution (240 x 320) might not be supported.
I would like to buy the app, but i live in Belgium, and payd apps can not be bought from the market.
I just tried to install the app using the apk-file, but it doesn't works. Can u make a version for 1.6 plz, i really like it.

Thanks for giving it a try. If you press the menu button when in the DEMO Version there should be an option for "More Apps" this will bring you to the Android Market where you can see the FULL Version. I also attached a different barcode, this should link directly to the market rather than through AndroidZoom...let me know if that works for you? Otherwise just search "Robott Creations" or "Text Messenger" on the Android Market.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have heard more than once the need for customizable preset messages & option to turn off the notification "booger". I look to add those features this week. The rest of the suggestions I also agree with, and will hopefully work them in. I was looking to keep the app extremely simple, but the feedback so far has made it sound like the app is "too simple".

I am not too familiar with the Belgium Android Community, but it sounded like you said you are unable to buy any apps? If so, I do not know what I can do about that. But I will look into comparability for Android 1.6.
Thanks everyone, the feedback I have been getting has been excellent. I look to add some of these features shortly and supply you with exactly what you are looking for.
Version 1.5 Released
I read all the suggestions, and am trying to get them in ASAP.
Here are some features to hold you over until the next Update.
New to Version 1.5
------------------
* Custom preset Away Messages
- Easy interaction via Context Menu
* Enable/Disable Notifications
* Text Forwarding (Currently only supports other Phone #s)
* Minor Cosmetic Fixes
More Updates Coming Soon!
I hope the Android 1.6 support will be there soon. Such a lovely app ...

Both depend on the support of the project. Currently I have been hearing good feedback, but the number of downloads does not assure me it would be worth the time of creating an Android 1.6 version and/or porting to Windows Mobile.
I am currently working towards Version 2.0, and after that I will investigate porting and 1.6 support.
Thank you both for showing interest.
Any way of choosing which Apps this works with, as just had it in a weird loop on my facebook status. As I have fb notifacations sent to my mobile via texts, its put all away messages on my facebook, then as I had a new post, got sent a new text, which then triggered another away message...... Turned it off for now, but really good and usefull app, if you can have it only work with chosen apps. Like Handcent only.

[app] pgp sms

PGP SMS
PGP SMS lite
- write and get secure messages with pgp encryption
- totaly over sms
- public-key infrastructure (PKI)
If you want to share sensitive data with someone, others should not be able to spy the data. To reach this goal we created this app.
With this app, an attacker, who probably intercepted the sms to get its content, cannot get any information from the content because the message is encrypted.
Functionality:
A Keypair is created.
With the Public Key you encrypt a message.
With the Private Key you decrypt an encrypted message.
You send your Public Key to the person which wants to send you an encrypted message. The person encrypts the message with your Public Key and sends the encrypted Message to you. ONLY YOU can decrypt the encrypted Message with your Private Key.
Instruction to send encrypted messages:
- your friend shares you his public key
- now you can send him an encrypted message
Instruction to get encrypted messages
- you share your public key to the person which wants to send you an encrypted message.
If you have suggestions, feel free to contact us.
coming features:
- choose keysize
- revoke old shared public key
keywords: privacy, encryption, private, public, keys, secure, sms, pgp, gpg, message, crypted, encrypted, secret, encoded, decoded.
Thanks for sharing

No Problem
So are you actually using PGP for the backend encryption? Or are you just using the name because it's popular?
Yes, sure.
PGP for transmitting the messages encrypted over the air to another device and then decrypting it... like in the white "how does it work"-picture mentioned above.
PGP just for the name, would be a strange

OK, the question I actually asked, which you seem to either not understand or have intentionally not answered, is whether you're actually using PGP technology for the message encryption and transmission. PGP isn't a generic term for "public key infrastructure", it's a specific technology (and, coincidentally, PGP is also a copyrighted/trademarked word that's owned by Symantec).
History of PGP: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pretty_Good_Privacy
Now, there IS an OpenPGP standard, RFC 4880, but you've made no indication in your post (which appears to just be copypasta from your market description) that you're following this RFC, either.

some details...
yes, we used this rfc from openpgp as "pattern".
but we changed and, imho, improved some things for not only the reason of maximum sms size.
So, if you want, the word PGP is inaccurate and overall chosen, but it should just say, what the programm is about.
I don't know, which expression we could use instead, i think Pretty Good Privacy is a nice name, and at least some people know what openPGP means.
It works similar too... on the mathematical problem - factorization of big numbers.
but... the detail how the encrypting sequence exactly works, is anyway not interesting for an ordinary user.
It's safe and mathematically there is no effective way to break the encryption, with the current keysize.
i hope i could give you some satisfying information.
greetings
I was alerted to this app and was asked to write a review about it.

the design will surely be improved ^^
i shoud study design instead of informatics....
but the functionality should work perfect, in lite too... you wrote:
Let me explain. I managed to successfully add my friend's PGP public key to the app so I could send him an encrypted text, however we soon discoverd that this was some kind of bizarre fluke. Try as we might, we could absolutely not get my public PGP key into my friend's copy of PGP SMS Lite, rendering him completely incapable of replying to the message I'd been able to send him via a stroke of fortune thus that I feel if I play half a line of numbers on the lottery I'll win anyway.

I discovered that the lite version don't work correctly if you have 3rd party sms apps - like go sms pro.
the priority of incoming sms is in the lite version lower than in pro version...
and if you have for example go sms pro, pgp sms doesnt work correctly, because "go sms pro" intercepts the sms flow.
i surely will fix this in lite version.
there is a spam protection in requesting keys. if the same number requests a public key in less than 1 hour, just the text of the request comes through - i will change this too in a text like "number xy has already requested the public key in the last hour, answering cancel'd"
if you are interested in testing\reviewing the paid version for free, let me know.

Unless you count all non AOSP SMS apps as "3rd party", the only SMS app I have installed is what came with Touchwiz.
edit: I'll gladly review the paid version, amateur journalism is a hobby of mine after all, but don't expect it to be a resounding recommendation if the paid version works flawlessly while the "lite" version remains a pile of poo.

Hi, i installed mysms and tried it.
For me everything works fine.
Could you please tell me the steps you are performing?
What are you receiving instead?
Sure thing...
2 devices: gNexus (4.2) and Nexus S (4.1.2)
1. Both have mysms and pgp sms lite installed
2. Created and shared keys on both
3. Send to each device, through your app, an encrypted sms
4. Nothing happens
User error?

Ah, now I understand. Just cleared the apps and tried again.
/4.1.2 got the message that 4.2 shared the key
/4.1.2 got request from 4.2 to share key (also shared that from 4.1.2 before), 4.1.2 responded and sent the key, however does not arrive on 4.2
My bad did not read the toast on time.
So seems to be a 4.2 issue

[APP][1.6+] Sms Replier - Need Feedback

Hey, I recently released an app to Google Play and was wondering if you guys could help me out to test it and to give me feedback!
The app is called Sms Replier and it's a tool that can be used to send texts to people who call you while you're unable to get to your phone to answer(while you're in an exam, or playing a game of soccer, etc.). I know this idea has been done before, but I want to know whether you think it's worth it for me to keep working on it so as to add features which have not been done in any other app. Please let me know how well it performs/what things I should change about it, and please rate it on Google Play!
I am excited to get some real criticism from android users so that I can continue to make this app what I originally set out for it to be!
The app is completely free! Thank you in advance.
I like it! Simple, but I would love a widget.
If you are lazy: here's a link to the download:

Hey. Can the app send sms at a specific time? For example set it to send an sms to a contact at 2pm and when the clock becomes 2pm it sends the sms. Cz I'm looking for such a feature.
Also it would be great if the above could work on whatsapp too. Thanks

Hey. Can the app send sms at a specific time? For example set it to send an sms to a contact at 2pm and when the clock becomes 2pm it sends the sms. Cz I'm looking for such a feature.
Also it would be great if the above could work on whatsapp too. Thanks

it works ace!
what would be good is to have either a widget to toggle on / off, permanent notification to enable access to the menu, or an idle / activity monitor like if phone left idle for x minutes then enable it; as soon as there's human activity then de-activate it (could be linked to the auto screen dim/off).
A very nice app, very useful for businesses. Out Of Office Reply
A great start! I would also like to add some suggestions (some may be repeats).
1. Widgets that you can add to turn on and off selected notifications.
2. Auto respond based on a pre-determined schedule.
3. Auto start on startup option (for scheduled events).
4. # appears over icon to notify user how many messages were replied to while away (like mail or missed call icon).
Keep up the great work!

Great app very helpful while driving especially. Would be nice if you could add some features to even reply to text messages automatically. Something similar to auto reply feature in GoSMS.
great work.

as bigdog said those are very essential to complete this app.
first time i installed the app.. i was really surprised to see its simplicity really awesome
i would like to add some suggestions and doubts from mine sides too even though they may be repeated
some brainstorming got me to bring up these elements
1. sometimes there can just be miss calls.. you can add up timer like (send sms before ringer, on one ring, on two rings, or like if didnt pick the call at all will send an sms)
2. a status bar indicating that the sms replier with number of sms sent. [a widget would also be helpful]
3. then you can add some templates or profiles like driving, in class or let users create their profiles or templates.
4. there is one more thing that u can get access of contacts and just disconnect the unknown numbers[ofcourse getting the notification with number at our end] and donot sent them a reply in order to maintain the privacy and not let the unknown numbers know what you are upto.
5. and if i may add a option.. a counter to be set to ring if a same person is trying to call for more than two three times or in case of emergency
i will add more when it comes ...
Would be great if it could work on whatsapp!
The difference is that you don't need to click the template to send it when you're receiving the call. It sends automatically when a missed call is recorded. Sorry to assume, but it doesn't seem like you actually tried using the app at all.

@saredev, does your app have feature that can exclude certain numbers from auto responding but they are in the contacts list. For example, notifications banks or credit card companies. These companies don't need to receive auto-response. I think you might have to check the number when it arrives whether it's a phone number or shortcode before auto-response. Or include a list of numbers from auto-response.

[APP][1.5+] Safe N Secure Notes Notepad

Safe N Secure Notes is a simple, no fuss application which allows you to store your notes easily and securely. Ideal for storing sensitive information like email addresses/passwords, ATM Pins, Bank Account Numbers etc.
This is not just any other notes taking application, this one works smartly. Once installed and initial setup is done, the application hides itself(There is no icon to launch the application). The only way to launch the application is by entering a special pattern on your device's dialer.
Notes are stored in encrypted format using industry standard AES Encryption.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Once the application is installed, click on the application icon to launch setup.
2. Enter your secret passcode which will be used to open the application and your email address. Your passcode will be emailed to you for future reference.
3. Restart your device. The application icon will not be visible anymore.
4. Open dialer and press **[your_secret_code] to launch the application.
5. Now you can add notes using "Add Note" button. Any existing note can be deleted by long pressing on that note's row which will bring up "Delete Note".
CHANGELOG
--------------------
Version 2.0 (SafeNSecureNotes_V3.apk)
1. Included Wifi Only Devices Support! The application will appear as a normal calculator. Entering the secret code and pressing any of the non numeric buttons will launch the notes interface.
2. - Support additional pattern for launching application: **[secret_code]# <---Using this pattern will not trigger a call when incorrect secret code is entered by mistake.
3. Changed Ad placement to improve user experience. <b>Added menu option to purchase Ad Free version. </b>
Version 1.1 (SafeNSecureNotes_V2.apk)
1. Moved "Save Note" button to top on Add Note/Edit Note screens.
2. Fixed Security Flaw wherein user could launch the application without entering secret code from Application History (in case the application was started earlier). Please note, DO NOT use "Home" button to exit out of the application. If you do this, the secret code will be visible in "Dialer" App History.
3. Added Backup/Restore to/from SD Card. WARNING: Restoring data on an existing installation will completely overwrite the database.

Please rate/review the application if you find it useful.
Nice app will give it a try!
I really really like the way the app opens through the dialer, well done buddy! will definitely need this app.
Great app!
Suggestions/bug(?)reports.
It would be nice NOT to see the program in the recent apps list.
As I see, the program puts another blank "Phone" screen to the recent app list, and if I tap on this, the program starts without the code.

I am assuming by settings you are referring to changing the secret code/pin. This is not supported in the current version, but I will take note of this and implement. It should be done in a day or two.

I have this problem too. MsAppz, the dev said he will fix it. If he does this is a great 5* app.

This problem should be fixed with the latest version (v2) that I have posted. The application itself does not appear in recent app list anymore. Please note, you need to *always* exit the application using back button. If the application is exited using *Home* button, the code will remain visible on the dialer in the app history. But if you exit the application using back button, the dialer will appear as blank in the history.
Please let me know if you still face any issues.
Thank you so much ....awesome new concept liked it much ....keep it up ...

It looks a nice app but can you please add any alternative method for using on tablets other than opening the app via dialer trick.
I hope I will see its available for my N7

[APP][4.4+] Auto-Reply to Whatsapp, Slack, Email & more [BETA]

Hey all - been working on this off and on for a while but I've finally got it in a place where it works to how I envisioned it so I'm super excited to share it with you all!
These days people expect instant replies to their instant messages & it's not always possible to oblige.
Texting & driving is dangerous, your boss probably isn't keen on your messaging at work, you might be in a meeting, you might have left your phone to go workout.. Fortunately, in any given situation, Can't Talk will respond for you.
Let people know you're busy, you're driving, you're in a meeting, you'll get back to them later.. You set the message, you set who & via which apps to respond to & Can't Talk does the rest.
It's "out of office" but not just limited to email. Whatsapp, Slack, SMS, missed calls, Telegram, Hangouts, Allo.. any app that let's you send a quick reply via it's notification - Can't Talk can respond to.
Features of note:
- You can auto reply to sms & missed calls as well as app notifications
- You can specify which apps can be replied to
- You can specific which contacts can be auto-replied to (this includes across apps like Whatsapp etc..)
- You get to specify the message that gets sent.
Features of note to come:
- Multiple profiles - so you can create a "work profile" or a "home profile" or a "driving profile" with specific responses/settings
- Contextual Switching - the ability to automatically turn profiles on & off depending on whether you're driving, in the office, at home etc..
- Contact specific responses
At this stage I'd really love your feedback on the app so far (this is a beta so there may be bugs) & more specifically what more would you want from an app like this?
Any and all feedback/suggestions would be hugely appreciated!
Beta on the Play Store here
Huge update now on the Play Store
Added support for messaging apps such as Whatsapp, Hangouts etc..
Fixed a number of bugs
Added support for contact specific replies
Would love ANY feedback on the app! Happy Friday everyone!!
New update will be on the Play Store shortly, lots of bug fixes & a much tidier UI ??
Nice app but second reply time is 12 min after the first reply to the same person that not good. it should be the frequent reply. or is it work without the internet?

Thanks for the feedback! Was it a reply to the same message, & which app was it replying too (whatsapp, sms, etc)? There is a setting under Advanced Settings to change the reply frequency, it defaults to 15 minutes meaning it'll auto reply to any NEW messages you receive from the same contact or app after 15 minutes.
If you have a better idea about how reply frequency should work I'm all ears Maybe people want the option to reply to 1 contact 1 time ever, until the app is switched off?
New beta is up! Ton of bug fixes, some layout improvements.. Feedback as always is encourage
Messenger?
Does this (can this) work with Facebook Messenger?
Finally an extremely useful app thank you...

Interesting application buddy. Love the opening animations.
One thing I found annoying, is that for almost anything I changed, there was no "Save" button. Thus I had to first click "Back" arrow and then a prompt would ask if I want to save or discard. Could have used only a single click if there was a "Save" button.
Also, there needs to be some modification for the secondary text field, e.g. Apps Secondary or Advanced Secondary.

How would you know who had joined the beta, though? When I click the "Become a tester" button on the play store, does it send my email to the developer?
after I have enabled Notification Access, it is consuming 310MB RAM in a 3GB RAM Device, is it normal?

Hi
This looks a very interesting app but I don't seem to be able to download it. There is no Install button on the app page.
Sounds nice, gonna give it a whirl
I joined the beta program through the app in the store instead of the link in the op, is it ok? Since that was a browser redirect and sign in page, so i just took a shortcut.

That's an excellent point - tbh the app actually left beta yesterday & I'd actually forgot to remove that caption from the OP ?
However since it was mentioned in the Portal post more people have downloaded & I'm guessing that's a big part of the reason so I'll honour that commitment.
Let's say.. anyone who's commented on the thread or liked the OP I'll send a promo code to. Anyone left hanging in 2 weeks (when the trial expires) will hopefully email me & they'll get one too. Unless anyone has a better way to go about it? ?

Tbh mate I've not looked at RAM usage at all seeing as the app does nothing in the background whatsoever - until you receive a notification/SMS etc.. although judging by my other app ReadItToMe that sounds about right.
I'll do some testing but unless it's causing you an issue I wouldn't worry
