I'm having some troubles with my GPS on my HTC Sensation.
Sometimes it locks on to me, but around 80km (close to Sveg, Sweden) from my actual location.
Sometimes it doesn't lock on at all and one time, I was using RunKeeper and it was jittering all over the map.
The faulty location (as stated earlier) happened one time before and it was the exact same spot as the first time (close to Sveg).
So, is this a hardware or software related issue? (this is with aGPS turned off, to test the GPS signal)
I've never had any problems before (the phone is approx. 1 year old)

try this soluiton (method 2)
it fixed my gps problem...which is similar to yours
GPS FIX GUIDE
the method 2 in the guide might mess up your splash screen...so just splash the HTC original splash screen or any other after trying the fix

first check your gps problem is resolved or not...
then we can look for splash screen
EDIT:
get any splash screen.img from this thread
to flash a splash screen
"fastboot flash splash1 splash.img"
EDIT2:
if you are lazy to search for original splash screen
here it is

its pyramid.zip i think

Anyone who recently got a phone with the good screen on the latest batch of phone have the same problem as mine?
It shows 5 satellites on GPS status but I've been unable to get a lock in GMap or Navigation.
It didn't take this long on my last phoe with the crappy screen.
GPS on my old "crappy" screen and my new "Superior" screen works flawlessly.
no issues here...
Just got a phone end of last week.
Good screen, made in china, no GPS issues.
~30 sec to 1min gps lock on GMAP
My third one.
just got my wife a new mt4g, how do i check where the screen is made from?

Read the screen thread. You can check via terminal without rooting or flashing hboot, but there's still a few steps to follow.

Hi, My problem is that sometime stuff get's bruned into the screen. If i reboot my device the problem is solved but what happends if i don't do a reboot?
Thanks in advance, P.S i will try to get a img so i can show you guys what i mean.
Hi.
I made a thread about it some time ago, but apparently not many of us have this problem. Anyway, I also had it, but it goes away after some time with screen off. Also I've disabled auto brightness (left 25%) and I haven't noticed it coming back for quite a while.
I have started noticing a little bit of screen burning, mainly with the clock, but that's about it.
havent faced such problem, It would be great if you post a screenshot

I wonder if you try using the fast reboot application from the market whether that would be a faster and simpler way to resolve the problem than a full device reboot (saver battery too)

Okay i will try to take a SS but it really hard to see it on the camera because i failed at the gym and dropped my ds on the floor and the screen cracked

Hi all!
Is it a rom (actually running IC 4.2.3) or a Sensation issue about my GPS?
It doesn't seem very accurate, at least having an eratic behaviour...Screenshot below shows my last run on Runkeeper, I can assure i wasn't drunk...!!
What's wrong?
Its linked to you running slowely I have the same problen with Map my run, on the Sensation, Desire S and HTC HD2 on droid 2.2 froyo
As you only move a small distance between updates the phone is looking to provide a new location
Try slowing down the updates
I didn't have the problem on my ex-iPhone...
How do I slow the updates? I can't see any option like that...
I've started having a similar problem. It's saying I've ran twice as far as I know I have. Didnt have the issue before, just started.
I've installed a new rom and firmware and still doing it.
Any answers?
Anyone else getting this or found a fix?

try this method
(believe me even though its of different device ..its used to be mentioned in ARHD ..FAQ thread ..and i myself used this ..to fix my gps on sensation )
btw i used method 2 ..as method 1 failed for me
and method2 screws up your splash screen ..but can be easily changed...
fastboot flash splash1 splash.img
Also it is very important to get a proper fix before you start moving, GPS fixes are harder to get when an object is moving. Turn on your app a minute before you start an activiy. I for example, also use the 20 second countdown of Endomondo, it gives me some time to put away my phone before I start my work out, but also gives me 20 seconds to stand still .
The fixes look a little beyond my capabilities to be honest.
It's just so frustrating that the Sensation has these problems. I've installed Faster Fix and GPS status. Will try again tomorrow.
Cheers!
Sorry, I guess you misunderstood. With "A proper fix" I meant "a proper GPS location fix" which means your GPS device knows where it is. To get this "fix" your GPS device must know its distance from the GPS satellites. To be certain about this position it is easier for your device if you stand still for a small period of time.

I totally understood, I was referring to the comment above yours. Sorry!
Sorry for the mix up then, good luck!
I'm having this SAME problem. It seems not as bad using the 11.69A radio but still on occasion has issues. It is really frustrating because i've used runkeeper for years with issue on g1, g2 and sensation, it's something with the new radios or ROMs doing it it seems like but I don't know enough about GPS radios and whatnot to know for sure.
Sometimes, after I wake up my phone from sleep the screen shows a wierd colorful pixely noise as shown in the picture, and it doesn't respond to anything besides the power button turning off the screen.
cannot post link, i(dot)imgur(dot)com/TrI3w(dot)jpg
Replace (dot) with . but I hope you understood that
(Sorry for the bad quality, only camara besides my phone was this crappy old digital cam, but it gets the point across)
Sometimes it gets back to my normal lock screen after leaving it to be for a few seconds, but more often than not does it kinda 'lock up' in this mode with me unable to do anything with my phone. Sometimes pulling the battery and starting my phone works and will allow me to continue work/browsing as usual. Other times (right now) it goes back into the 'lock up' right away. Aand it just popped back to normal, this took around 5 minutes, give or take.
I know that when the screen locks up my music continues, for I have listened to music with the screen locked up. I am not sure if my alarm will continue to work as I have not tested it. I can also turn the ringtone volume up/down.
It seems to 'lock up' after long periods of inactivity as I have previously put my phone to sleep and woke it without the issue arising. This was whilst I was chatting. I have not been able to recreate the 'lock up' on demand, aside for just leaving it asleep for extended periods of time.
I hope there is a solution to this problem, and I'd preferably not wipe my contacts etc. I have no idea how I can keep my data through a reinstall, so if I'd have to reinstall then if someone could link me to a thread that explains how to keep data would be awesome.
The phone is a HTC Sensation, 8 years old. This is what it says in the 'about phone' tab.
Code:
Model number
HTC Sensation Z710e
Android version
4.0.3
Baseband version
11.65.3504.00U_11.19.3504.29_2
Kernel version
3.0.16-v1.30.2
SebastianFM#1
Build number
HyperNonSense v1.5 (3.32.401.5)
As you can tell, the ROM isn't the regular HTC Sense ROM, so that might cause issues. I am currently unsure whether the kernel is custom or not.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated! I hope I can fix this problem.
PS I'm sorry if this topic is a repost of any kinds, I've done a quick search for some terms that came to mind but couldn't find a thread that fit my problem.

Well for starters, Google syncs all your contacts online so once you restore your phone you'll get your contacts back. To me, it reminds me of the same issue I used to have with my Motorola Cliq: systematic hardware failure. The touch screen is starting to go. Which is why only your power button works.
But before we announce the end of your phone, why don't you do this so I can try to help:
Download "GO Backup" and back everything up.
Reboot into recovery and create a backup from there.
Wipe data, cache, and system
Install Virtuous Inquisition (I'm familiar with the ROM and it can help eliminate the possibility that it's the ROM doing the damage)
Set up your phone and restore using go backup. Then Try to induce the problem one you reload all your things
After that, let me know what the end result is

I will do this as soon as I regain control over my phone. It has been stuck on this screen for 10 minutes straight now. It really feels like standard electronics failure, starting off small and only on minor occasion and ending in a big endless failure. ****.
There is no wipe system option in my recovery ?
EDIT: Found it, got the ROM working. Screen issue still arises.

Replying since I'm not sure you'd read my EDIT
Display issue still arises, which means it's an internal hardware issue isn't it?
Does anyone have any experience with opening it up and seeing whether there's a connector loose or something? As I think installing a custom ROM kinda voids the warranty so I wouldn't be able to send it to HTC for repairs right?
Any Updates?
My phone started doing this this week and is now in what seems to be a permanent state of evil pixel screen. Have you had any luck fixing yours? If so, how? Thanks

It was a hardware issue, contact HTC support and they'll hook you up with a pickup and return service. If your warranty still covers that at least.

I'm having the same problem here
Since yesterday my HTC Sensation shows only a screen with colored dots - it seems to be some kind of physical problem, as removing the battery and rebooting does not help. Has anybody experienced such problems in the past or has a clue what's wrong with it?

I don't think so, actually I believe I've always been good to my phone. Can't even remember it falling down once and should also not have been in contact with water. That's why I'm posting here, I was mainly interested if anybody has seen such problems in the past (and especially if he/she knows a reason for them).
It practically happened all of a sudden - well, actually I had the problem already for two or three times about one month ago, but at that time only for a second, not reproducible (first even thought about a software problem). Now it suddenly changed to a constant problem.

Had they flashed your phone after fix?
