Hi, just installed team EOS 4.0.4 nightly on MZ601, it works fine but flash drive access on OTG cable via Astro file manager is not yet? How can I do it? Thanks!
OK, I did it and for those have the same issue, plz do the followings:
(0) make sure the xoom is rooted with EOS 4.0.4 by default
(1) get the USB mass storage watcher OTG from Google play,
(2) use the emulated terminal to "su" and "mkdir /mnt/usbotg"
(3) plug in the flash then run USB watcher then mount it to /mnt/usbotg
(4) in astro manger, change the usb directory to /mnt/usbotg
now u can access the flash drive in astro!

I am not sure if i connect a 500 gb usb external hard disk to my xoom through micro usb otg cable. Can anyone answer this? IF positive, I will buy a 500 gb instantly.

I am running Tiamat manta ray 2.0.1 on UK MZ601 3g xoom and I can mount an external WD usb powered 500Gb drive over otg with no problems.For stock 3.01which I came from it didn't work.
I use usb otg watcher (available in market place) to mount and es filemanager to move, and copy and browse etc

I have a new WD Passport Essential 750GB HDD that works fine with the Moto OTG adaptor and the USB Mass storage Watcher OTG app. My Xoom's configuration is in my sig.

You could try but that app I mentioned requires root and I'm not sure if stock 3.2 provides usb host mode support.
I'm still on Tiamat 1.0 and can read my WD 1TB HDD (NTFS) without issue.
I'm still in stock 3.0.1 uk and I can use my 500, 750 and 1T WD passports fine by mounting through terminal emulator.

Here's the problem that I have.
After upgrading my Xoom (US 3G) to Tiamat 2.1 Hammerhead USBOTG stopped to work. When I try to connect flashdrive via this cable it blinks only once and that's all. The folder USBOtg is empty -> nothing is shown (but I know that there are files). I tried to format flashdrive to various filesystems (NTFS, FAT32) -> no result.
Another strange thing after upgrade is with MicroSD folder. It shows me only old data. All new one that I copied to it via PC it doesn't show at all. AND!!! PC doesn't see the content of folder with name "external" on Xoom but when I copy there files from PC then Xoom can see them.
May anyone advice any steps to return usbotg and microsd in normal working state?
I tried to re-flash Xoom with previous various versions of firmwares (mods) -> the same situation.

Two different issues--if you read the release notes with the Hammerhead Rom, Team Tiamat removed the USB Mass Storage enabling that had been in earlier Rom, due to various difficulties. So that means you can no longer use your PC to copy files into the micro sd card in the Xoom, but you can cop files directly to the sdcard using an adapter or card reader. Your Xoom should still have access to the files on your micro sd card at mnt/external1.
The usbOTG works fine for me but it needs the help of an app like USB Mass Storage Watcher OTG or Drive Mount. Both will work. It also helps to reboot with the drive plugged in the first time if you are having a hard time getting the Xoom to recognize it.

Actually, try checking the folder mnt/external1 (1) as this is HC3.2's official mount point. The Microsd mount point is an artifact of an older Rom.
i am using hammerhead rom with tachi kernel.
yup the usb otg not working.
tried both usb watcher and drive mount.

Make sure that you are using a REAL usbOTG cable.
A real USB otg cable? What needs to be special about the cable in order for it to work?

This is where I will suggest that you do some research. Start with this forum and then search elsewhere. Just today I have answered this question 3 times. Search on my name and you will see my posts with your answer.
i am using micro usb male to normal usb female.
cable is gold plated and branded.
but others have also mentioned that usbotg not working after they updated to 3.2
though i never tested on 3.1

Your cable will never work because it is not OTG. OTG has a different pin configuration to allow the Xoom to function in usb host mode. If you are handy with a soldering iron you could make one, but why not buy one, they are availble. hi there, i'm new user for MZ601 3G a few day still bussy about how to connect my usb storage to my mz601 with eos rom ics 4.0.4, i'm afraid is only me that failed to connect my usb storage to my xoom with ics from eos, cause everyone says they can connect usb storage to xoom
all thing i have done install usb storage watcher otg, install total commander until re-flash eos rom 2.0.0 or 77 build still my xoom cannot detect my usb storage already try with 3 different type of otg cable, looking under media/usb still empty folder and with usb storage watcher is say : No USB Connection..
Can someone help me with this, cause if usb storage can run normaly it will help me much for my dailly activities

My xoom cannot mount any flashdrive or external HDD, however the drive was visible in USB host controller ? device was detected but not really connected ..
btw I can use any USB hub, mouse and keyboard together, is this kernel or driver issue ?
Does anyone know where does marshmallow mounts usb otg drives?
I connect mine, I press detect so it sees it. I can browse with native document manager. Can't find the path in root explorer
Not in ANY folder.
Any guidance?
