I have Samsung GT B7510. When i had froyo rom, there were some themes for mms.apk . But after updating gingerbread , the themes have gone. There is no option to choose different themes. When i look at the res fonder in the app i see the different pictures for theme but we can't use it. Is there any way to edit the apk to use this themes? I don't like other messeging apps. Stock app is so simple, and i generaly use swiping right and left to message or call someone who text me. Does all gingerbread roms lost message app theme, or just our phones rom does?

Ok Ive been searching for a while to see how to restore the stock icons in froyo sense? I dl and installed jb's new sense theme with icons and I would like to change my icons back to the standard froyo icons. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If your'e wanting to change how the icons show up in your app drawer, you would have to go into each app's framework-res.apk and change the icons from there. If your wanting to change how the icons show up on your home screens, you could use BetterCut to create shortcuts that allow you to choose the icon.
if you re-install the rom youre using, it'll revert everything back to stock. I posted a few different versions with and without icons
As the title says I have looked and have now decided to resort to posting.
Please be kind IF I missed icons which work with this ROM.
I'm useing the Fresh 2.3.3 and am rooted.
I had the Elcair, hope that's correct spelling, update.zip before for the newer icons. The ones with the green message icon!
Anyway this will not work with this ROM.
Any help would be great....sorry as I always like newer icons than the same old same old.

icons Are usually not high on a themers to do list because most people have just used better cut and icons are just a pita. But no I don't think you missed icon packs.
Another option is to download adw launcher and use a theme with icons.

Hey everyone,
I have a really nice dark MIUI theme running on my CM7.1 RC1 and I really like the notification icon that is displayed for the stock messaging app when i get SMS/MMS. However, i also use ChompSMS and for some strange reason, the CM7 theme doesn't display the same notification icon for ChompSMS. The stock ChompSMS icons look really bad (no offense) and almost ruin my theme. Anyway, I have the latest ChompSMS apk (5.15) and the png file of the desired notification icon. My question is, can anyone either:
1. Teach me how to customize the notification icon for ChompSMS.
2. Or at least do it for me
The first is more preferable but hey, both will do just fine.
I have uploaded both the files, hopefully i won't get any trouble beacuse ChompSMS is free!

Well i search in this forum for a 2.3 Mms.apk with Bubbles Spech option but i dont find anyone :S searching google i find a Mms.apk with emoji emerge integrated (need the font instaled to see) and nice bubbles spech option!
If anyone can change the color of the sender bubble (not the white) to a gray or black, and supress the emoji integration for a lite version will be batter!

You could get the GOSMS app. from the market and change it yourself in about two seconds. Also, the emoji plugin specific to that is downloadable and usually listed right bleow it.
GOSMS has a ton of themeing options built right into it. If you have not checked it you might want to. It inherintly has the ability to do what you need. Hope this helps at all.

Ok!!! So i wanted all dark phone, contacts app and messaging app.
Now for phone and contacts i downloaded and sorted it out with ExDialer & contacts app which is totally dark themed.
But for mms.apk i tried the many inverted themed apks here in XDA ... But none of them seem to work for me just like the mms.apk which came with alien rom, even though in mms.apk > setting > quick reply > use dark theme, is always always checked, nothing really happens.
Hence i tried changing the apk but the result is the same no matter which mms.apk i use. I would totally appretiate a solution to this...
I am also running xposed framework but i have not found any solution to this with its modules either.
also i would like to know now i am sitting with 2 phone dialer apps and 2 contact apps in my xperia j .
Would it be possible for me to remove the Exdialer and contacts app and just use some some kind of modded phone & contacts apks to get the desired dark theme effect which will be just like the rest of my phone. Or would i encounter just the same kind of problem with them, that i encountered with mms.apk ?
try pushing those modded apks into system/app without Xposed Framework
