Ringke G2x Case Review

Hey guys, I just got a new case and I LOVE it. It is a Ringke G2x Case from here: http://www.rearthusa.com/LG-G2x_p_255.html
I've bought plenty of cases before from Amazon for $.01 + $4.99 shipping and all of them were lackluster. All were made from cheap materials that weren't cut right or fit properly. They usually arrive in a cheap plastic bag in an envelope or other cheap packaging. You get what you pay for. But at the end of the day I would be forced to remove the crap I had on my phone from the aggravation and nuisance.
This time I took the high road and looked into something less "cheap". I found a Ringke review and gave it a shot.
Wow am I impressed.
At first it looks like a TPU case, which my GF has... which is a thick, hard rubber. TPU cases are often so thick that they add a lot of thickness to the phone. While hers has stood up well, her white case is now almost like a dingy white/brown color (sick). The Ringke Case I picked up is a weird material. The high polymer coating has a soft touch to it but I'm not sure it is rubber... almost feels like a firm solid foam. It is porous for a nice grip, not slippery like TPU cases, but not sticky like the gel cases. Nice balance. Easily slips into the pocket yet has a good grip in your hands.
The case itself if very well made and fits like a glove. The speakers, camera, hdmi port, and headphone jacks are all cut out with pretty good precision. Volume and Power buttons still respond perfectly through the case.
The only bad thing is that I wish I had gotten their headphone plug accessories with the phone, as mine already has dust and lent in there.
Overall it is a good case and I'm not itching to take it off like others. I got the Lime color as for some reason it just pops. They have 11 colors to choose from but the florescent ones appealed to me this time around (Lime, Mint, and Orange)
$16.99 for the case plus $1.99 for the headphone plugs (recommended) and ships for free.

How does the lime look? I feel like it would make the phone look unprofessional

crap.
As far as professional... eh its just a case. I work with lots of professionals with cases and I don't think it is a big deal. It doesn't have a pot leaf or a Mario logo on it. Solid lime isn't bad at all.
I noticed that it does help while on a call, with the G2x's sharp corner at the top that slices your ear.

I've been looking for a Mario/pot leaf case for weeks with no luck...

They fit mine just fine. You have to turn them so they're flush.

Any one elses Ringke case have sides that aren't really flush/tight? I notice on mine it kind of makes the phone look oval.

yea those pics I took was from the G2x. It does have a VERY high contrast camera. I took some pictures of my kid in the pool and the blues and pinks and greens are very vivid.
On topic, are the headphone plugs actual jacks that plug into the phone's headphone port, or is it just a rubber button like thing?

I'm not impressed. I thought it was going to be an actual headphone plug with a rubber tip on the end. I guess whatever works.
My hole needs pluggin' (no homo)

I would definetely buy this if they didn't have that corner exposed.

Leather case that isn't a belt holster?

Is there a leather case our there that is just for the phone and not some little belt holster/pocket? I think it would look pretty sexy on the Sensation.

I think he meant a "fitted" leather case, kinda like a TPU case but made out of leather. I would REALLY want one as well. I know there is one made for the SGS2 by zenus but I don't think there is one for the sensation

I do like the looks of these! I just wish the little cover flipped up instead of down. I still might have to check it out, though.

I like this case but without the flip. Could you tell me for the phone portion of the case (the part that holds the phone), is it ALL made out of leather as well? or is the inside of the case made if hard plastic that could possibly scratch the phone?

Not sure yet. I'll post some pics when the case will arrive.

wanna buy something like that,it look nice,and phone is fully protected..

Ok, today I have gotten the case. It feels sturdy, fits on the sides perfectly. Despite of the site being registered in US, it arrived from "Jacky Chan" in Hong Kong (lold at that one) Took ~10 days per airmail.
The cut-outs for camera and flash + back speaker are fitting perfectly aswell, along with volume and microusb cut-out.
Only thing that was a bit weird at first was that the covering didn't fit perfectly "at once", but I guess after a while and stretching it'll fit. The cover holds though, while also giving access to power button.
I am in work atm, but I will post pictures once I get home. Stay tuned.
For ~24 USD it seems fairly usable and good-looking case, in my opinion.

THIS is the bomb! 60$ but worth it ! I have used this company's similar case for my HD2, Desire HD, AND now for the Sensation!

I think it is possible, but I am not sure whether it then wouldn't be prone to further ripping. The hard plastic ends on the bottom from where the leather-only hinge starts and there you should be able to perform a cut, while having it still stylish.
Maybe if you would finish the cut part with some sort of superglue mixed with black ink, it would fix the ripping issue.

[REVIEW] Otterbox Defender (ATT/Rogers)

Fits like a glove as it is meant for the ATT/Rogers version. All holes line up. The rubber is tougher and less shiny than the normal rubber otterbox uses (which i thought thank god) The only thing i dont like/not used to yet is how the phone mounts into the belt clip. You have to slowly "wedge it out" Here are some pictures. Any questions? The temperature after playing a game for 25 min is 43c (without case it was around 39c)

Whats your opinion on the power button? Is difficult to press?

Very easy. I notice i dont have to push as hard as my ebay rubber case i had before. Volume buttons are also easily pushed. The screen protector takes a bit away from the clarity. Still debating on popping it off or not.

i have the COMMUTER and its an AWESOME case...they just released it today Monday June 4th Wouldnt use any other one...

I recommend just popping it out, especially if you already use a screen protector. It comes out rather easy and the adhesive strip can be pulled out in practically one piece. The only thing I would suggest is to use something like a small piece of duct tape to remove the left over residual adhesive from inside the frame.

Does anyone have the purple and teal otterbox? I really want one!

They have not been released anywhere yet. ATT nor Otterbox carry them yet. I was told within the next few weeks.

It depends on your area, because most ATT store here in Hawaii had both Commuter and Defender Cases, I originally went with the commuter case but felt it added too much thickness and took away the design of the phone, so bought Htcs slim case. The have improved a lot in terms of rubber material and fit, especially coming from the evo 3d case.

im interested in the commuter....may pick one up. but im usong the ballistic sg right now and i have no complaints at all...best feature is somehow this ballistic case makes my power button feel perfect :-D i hate how it feels without a case!

I'm using the Defender too. Love everything about it except the screen protector. It makes the screen look glittery, for lack of a better word.

I use this very similar to otterbox and has a kickstand.

I just got a one x and a defender case. Great combo! I love how the rubber isn't so tacky. It's easy to get in and out of my pockets.

I agree. Its more stiff and more textured it seems. Lint doesnt want to stick to it Did you get the grey/black or black/black?

Hey guys. I just want to share this case I got for my GS4. The case feels good in hand and it doesn't add that much dimension to the phone. All in all this case is effective for the external impact protection and surely your S4 would look so sexy once you dress it up with this case. For $29, I wouldn't really keep this case, but I got the case with 50% off last week at amazon. Thanks!

Is the back of the case plastic-y or it's rubber? It'd be terrible to pull out of a pocket if it's rubber.

No that was the spigen super thin TPU one which I guess is really sharp on the insides. and fits really loose and is all around a piece of crap

It looks nice, but the sharpening of the corners. Makes it look a little too much like an iPhone for my taste. That said, how's the quality and fitment? Do you feel it adequately protects the phone? I just ordered an Incipio DualPro shine. Hoping it doesn't get here before the phone does

damn that thing looks sexy. been looking at these cases but wasnt sure what they looked. those stock images and crappy user photos dont do it sometimes, but these look nice. would love to see some more shots and especially more colors!

I have no idea about the bezel chipping they are talking about. As far as I can see, there's no contact between the plastic frame and the phone, only the TPU. It probably happened due to mistake installation or he could be changing cases very often.

How is the drop protection of this case?

How are people ordering them for 50% off? I love this case.

does the back of the case attract a lot of dust/lint? and how is the fit of the case on the phone? I read some people saying they are a little loose.

I wonder if I should just order their glass cover or both the glass and this case. Shame I missed 50% sale.

Casemate carbon fibre case updated 28thmay with review

I dont know why someone didn't staelrt a thread on here about the amazing (but expensive) case. its an aluminium case with a real carbon fibre back and in my eyes it amazing.

So I've just received my casemate in the post and first impressions was that the box was beautiful

Just upon opening the box i realised how beautiful it actually is.
The carbon fibre on the back is 100% real carbon fibre.
The black plastic around the sides is a real bad fingerprint magnet. As you can see
And at the bottom of the back piece is a brushed aluminium plate with the casemate logo and bevelled edges around the back speaker but just as alot of cases the case is muffled the sound coming from the speaker when its on a flat surface but its not as bad as other cases I reviewed
What i only found out upon receiving the case that its a two piece case which is a big plus for me and it looks like theres enough of a gap between the screen and case to allow a glass screen protector.
The silver plastic buttons on the upper part of the case are really easy to press
The inside of the back piece is a nice rubbery feeling which would provide a small shock resistant and just protects the phone.
Over all the phone fits extremely well and that i would recommend everyone to get it. The only bad thing is that its a slippy case but that shouldn't stop you from buying it.

I'm thinking of getting a d30 case though. Apparently it offers exceptional impact protection while maintaining a slim form factor.

I dont own a glass screen protector yet but soon I will. I would be easy but it looks really good in person so I'd leave it the way it is
