best online deal to get a sprint gs2 with 2 year contract? - General Questions and Answers

Got a friend that wants to know.

If he's a new customer, he can get it for a cent at Amazon.

If he's upgrading, Amazon's still got it for $149.99.
I just checked Letstalk.com (Walmart) and it's $159.99 on upgrade. You can't beat Amazon's price for new contracts.

Price?

Well I have read numerous sources saying it will be 199.99 with 2 Year Contract.. Now I am seeing receipts for 149.99 with contract or 299.99 without contract. I truly want this phone and the 50$ wont stop me, but hey it is 50$ more dollars for apps and accessories. Does anyone know if they price was changed or if I should bring in a picture of the receipts to get a 50$ off or will I just end up paying 200$?
AT&T and Samsung posted on their twitter that it is $199 with a contract, and $350 without a contract.
I'm hoping it is $350, cause that's how much money i got for it! haha.
Yah, but how are people getting it for 300 or 150?
I have no idea. I haven't seen any receipts and such.

Now I'm jealous. I hope it is $300 but i'll settle for $350!
haha yah I mean, paying an extra 50 really won't stop me. But hey, thats 50$'s I can use on accessories etc
I guarantee that it's 349.99 without a contract and 199.99 with a 2 year contract.
The people that are getting 50 or 100 dollars off the prices of the phone is because of the AT&T upgrade advantage.

If the primary line on your account is over $100 then that line will be upgrade eligible every year.
I believe they have three ways of paying.
1. upgrade elligable its $199 with a 2 year contract and USE your elligability.
2. Not elligable for an upgrade its $350. with a 2 year extension on your contract but not using your future upgrade.
3. No contract $499.
I just called and thats what two local stores told me.
I was just told 500 off contract from an AT&T store.

Woa, that'd be completely new for att. I've never seen any signs or ads anywhere for previous phones that describe option 2, always just 1 or 3 (renew your contract or just no contract pricing - no inbetween). If I'm wrong, I apologise, but I haven't heard of that before.
I called a store from one of the recepits that people have posted, and they told me that there was no way some of the pricing, nor sales have happened. I was told $500 dollars from a store that was $300.
I was also told $199 from a store that sold one for $149 and that I was reading the receipt wrong and instead of the "samsung i897" like the receipt says, it was really a 3gs 32 gb phone. Basically, I was told that I am an idiot and it wasn't really that price.
what the hell is going on?
Now I'm just more mad than anxious.

I agree. This whole pricing war is becoming insane, not to mention differen't prices for different people is not right.

That makes a lot more sense. So I think that actually clears up everything. Stores don't sell them at different prices, you may just be eligible for an additional discount. But I will still call several places when it is out to try to pick it up for 150$
So since my phone line is $150 a month, but i just upgraded last month, I am able to get this phone for $350 or $500?
wait... I want to get this phone but no data plan... as an att customer already which pricing would fit me

Honestly, I don't think think you are eligible for any of the 50 or 100$ off. Now I still haven't quite found out why some stores are charging 350 or 500 so I would simply suggest calling around.

Well I don't think you can purchase the phone without a data plan. Maybe off contract, but if you want the 2 year agreement price, you HAVE to get a data plan. As for the 50 and 100$ off, you NEED a 2 year agreement and that means you NEED a data plan.

every retail store I've called is selling for 500 dollars, or they do not have any pricing information yet.

Cheapest out of contract price?

Just sold my iPhone a good hefty amount Wheres the best place to get out of contract pricing? 400 isnt much, but I've heard of people getting it for 300? Anyone know where?
Also, my two year ends 02/26/2011, do I qualify for the upgrade pricing from Costco which is 79.99 or do I have to wait until that date?
Alex
Yeah, go to Costco and ask them if you qualify for the early upgrade right now. If not, wait until the 26th... its a great price. ($79) I tried yesterday but they turned me down for an early upgrade, told me to go to the corporate store, and I can get it there. Try your luck!
Would love to know where I can buy one online at a reasonable price with no service contract.
att.com don't sell them without a service contract so that is out
AT&T stores have it retailed for 399.99 without commitment. They probably need more than a few in stock to sell it to you but that's the cheapest I have seen.
Just got mine today from ATT off contract $399 seems to be the cheapest right now anywhere. Seems kinda odd that they wouldn't sell u one.

Seen eBay prices as low as $320. Could probably dip below $300 in a week. I trust eBay more than say, small obscure handset websites, because I've never had a problem bidding on a phone and getting what I wanted in a timely manner, but when it came to an actual online retailer, they would give me the run-around on shipping or send me a defective product.
sometimes http://www.wirefly.com has good deals on early upgrades.
Just got mine at BB for 324 plus tax. That was no contract price.
I got a pretty good early upgrade yesterday.
I have 2 lines, 1 shows ready for upgrade and the other addon line shows eligible on 4/24/11. Contract is up in August.
I went to a corporate store and they said 99 for the normal upgrade and 399 for the other.
I went home and called customer service and got the same story.
I then asked them what charges I would have if I cancel my account early.
They told me and after a couple of min. they gave me the retention rep.
Ended up getting 2 new Inspires, free shipping, for 79.99 each!

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.
Att store used an early upgrade for a non data enabled line for us and it was $300 and put on the data enabled line for me, but then i gave it to my wife. THEN the data stopped working for her line and we had to call and explain because there was something that needed to be enabled on her line for the 4g phone, EVEN though att was out of the 4g cards. So we have to go back to the store to get the 4g card i was supposed to get, but going to get for her line now.
Untill i buy another one. Maybe today. But that will probably be the full 400 price. Ill check bestbuy store see if its cheaper

He's a cashier there, haha. Kidding, but seriously, the BestBuy POS doesn't allow it to be rung up at that cost.

1yr contract

Is it possible to get a 1yr contract for the Thunderbolt? I bought mine at a corporate store and when she tried to do it on the computer, it didn't give her the option. So I was wondering if anyone had luck doing so before I call Verizon and try to get it fixed for 1yr.
Yeah I just got mine this morning on a 1 yr contract. It's 320.
No 1 Yr for me!!
jerks told me there was no one year. maybe because of corporate discount

I just left there with my 1 year contract using the corporate discount. Got the phone for 229.00 with $35.00 activation. If I had signed up for the 2 year contract phone would have cost 199.00 with no activation fee. Also got 25% off on accessories, but I passed on those. I know the discount on accessories and pricing on the phone is probably dependent on the number of employees eligible for the corporate discount.
To play it safe I printed off the discount details before arriving at the store and they played as if they didn't even know that the phone could be discounted.

pretty smart of you to print out corporate discount details. i was going to head to a verizon store after work today and check if i could get my online discount price in person but it didn't occur to me to make a copy of the corporate verizon store portal. i hope it works for me too and i can get a tbolt at the discount price today and not have to wait for delivery.
Ordered my TB online last night through VZW, got a 1 year contract for $229.99
I just upgraded my line on 1 year contract and corporate discount.

T-Mobile G2x with Google now for $99.99

I bought this one for $149.99 at first thinking that it was a good deal from $199 directly from T-Mobile website. But now, it costs $99.99 or about $50 less! But I still love this phone. The website I got this info from is: http://www.mythoslife.com/2011/04/t-mobile-g2x-by-google-is-now-out-for.html via mythoslife.com.

G2x free during midnight sale

Best buy is having a midnight sale and they have posted the G2X free w/ contract.
Typed on my CyanoSavaged SuperEvo.
And Amazon has it for $.01. Sucks for me because I just spent $79 on mine through Amazon yesterday, but at least I'll have it on Friday.
kind of makes me wish i didnt shell out 200 on opening day :/
yeah and i bought mine a week ago... and amazon's FAQ says...
Do you have a price guarantee?
If a price changes on an item you have already purchased, we are not able to refund the difference. We do, however, consistently work to maintaining competitive prices on everything we carry.
if it's before 30 days you can return it to tmobile
Paid $333 for mine from T-Mobile.

how does upgrades through best buy work? or amazon for that matter.
Best Buy has a price guarantee. 30 day price match. If they didn't you could just return it and get it from Amazon. It's better for best Buy to just match prices.
Anybody know how long that sale is going on for?

Does the best buy deal apply to upgrades? Just got a new 2 year contract and have an upgrade for my line available. Also, Amazon.com shows 79.99 for new plan and 119.99 for upgrades. How are you getting .01?
i was just about to purchase from costco online for 79.99. amazon wireless shows the same price as costco...

be happy i paid $500 for mine from T-Mo (but no contract) if you sign a contract your price for service per month is higher and I have found I get much better customer service with out a contract.
