Issues after installing Supercharged ROM - Motorola Atrix 2

So i installed Supercharged ROM correctly i had all the pre reqs:
root access
clockworkmodrecovery
flashed zip from downloaded file..
I noticed after i installed super charged rom i rebooted the phone and it did not boot into clockworkmod so i can install the update 2...so ok, what happened to my clockworkmod its still on my sd card when i connect it to my computer
also i rebooted into supercharged, i re downloaded titanium back up and when i opened up the program it said i had no root access, that's funny i thought i did, maybe it removed root access when i installed the supercharged mod, but i would think it would come with it. I can see the backup i did on all my apps on my sd card when i have the phone connected to the computer.
Any ideas what is wrong, regardless of these issues the phone is working and i'm getting used to the super charged atrix and having a blast

[Q] thunderbolt bootloader

when i try to get to the bootloader by holding the power and volume down it automatically takes me into hboot and starts loading PG05IMG.zip. I had previously gained root access with s off and downloaded superuser and rom manager. etc. i saved my old rom on rom manager and attempted to flash a new one, but now it says that i dont have root access when i install superuser. i was trying to factory reset but like i said it automatically goes to hboot when i try to get into the bootloader. in the bootloader it still says i have s-off
1. Change the name of PG051MG.zip to something like PG051MG-1.zip so it doesnt try to update every time.
2. Did you download BusyBox onto your phone?
yeah it still shows that superuser and busybox are on my phone when its mounted in disk drive mode. i had full root access im not quite sure how i ****ed it up
Always remove the pg05 file when done. Did you let it complete the update? That can screw up root.
i let it complete the update yes. but i also let it complete the update after i had already rooted and forgot to take it off, when it had gone into hboot
Ok so maybe I dont fully understand your problem. You are able to boot up your phone normally correct? When is your phone telling you that you dont have root access, when you try to access Rom Manager?
yes it boots up normally and when i try to access rom manager, and when i used root checker it says that it cannot find the superuser file where it is supposed to be. but i can see the superuser file when i mount the phone in disk drive. would changing the location of the su zip file do anything? or should i unroot my phone and start the process all over again. the problem with the bootloader was that i was trying to do a factory reset and it kept going into hboot and loading pg05img.zip. i changed the name of the file so it is no longer doing that and i did a factory reset from the bootloader but i am still having the problem of it saying i have no root access. the problem arose when i backed up my current rom on rom manger and attempted to flash a new rom from the ones on the list of the app
Ok well Superuser and BusyBox are not supposed to be just zip files sitting on your SD card, they are supposed to appear just as normal apps do in your app drawer. I suggest finding both of them on the Market and installing them to your phone. Go to the BusyBox one first after the download and run the installation process for it. Then go to the Superuser app to make sure it opens up properly. Then try to access Rom Manager. It will ask you for superuser permission, hit yes. Make sure to pay attention cuz the request will time out after 5 seconds.
when i attempt to use the busybox app it just says that it cannot find the su binary on my phone and that it is not rooted
But if you start the phone in the bootloader it says S-OFF?
go download titanium backup in the market, then start it and hit the problems button at the bottom and let it download the newest busybox.
yupp.. and i didnt put the su zip file on my sd card. and since apparently i no longer have root access i cant "unroot" my phone and put s on, to start back over again. i feel that i most likely have done something very unintelligent while thinking i was doing everything right.? im just confused as to why all of a sudden i dont hve root access
the busybox download through titanium failed because it says i dont have root access. it said something on titanium backup though that caught my eye about the current rom i have not having root access? and since the problems started when i backed up my old rom on clockworkmod and attempted to flash a new one i feel like this is where the root of my problem is. lol
Did you install superuser from the market also and check to see if thats working?
Its not your current ROM because you can have the stock ROM and still be rooted.
i know that, i had the stock rom rooted and then backed it up and attempted to flash a new one, or what i though would flash a new one by just selecting it out of clockworkmod. but no, superuser from the market also says that i do not have root access. i have the backed up rom, from clockwork before i tried flashing the new one, saved in a folder on my sd card but i cant flash it back to that because i dont have root so clockworkmod recovery isnt working
That is weird, I guess its possible that your phone automatically flashing the radio you had left on your SD card caused some negative effects. If you want to play it super safe you can follow the instructions here to return safely to stock and try the rooting process all over again.
You may also try to redirect your question in the development section, there are much more knowledgeable people there that may not check this general section out that can help you out.
see the problem is that i cant even do that because it doesnt recognize the phone as being rooted so i am not granted the super user permissions i need to flash the misc.img in the first steps of the un root process.
sooooo i just want to return my phone to stock but im not sure how
You shouldn't need to have root to complete the first portion of the instructions to return to stock. Its basically the same as the first steps to gaining root you see here. All your doing is pushing files to your phone using ADB. The link I just posted should have the files you need to return to stock as well if you no longer have them saved on your pc.

I'm not exactly sure what you did however just follow the manual method and you'll be ok. there is not a problem with doing it over again. of course this will give you root then from there you can do whatever you like. just be sure after you flash each of the ruu's which you name PG05IMG.zip as soon as you flash them delete them off the SD card. or it will keep prompting you to flash it again any time you go into your bootloader.

Yes you are correct as he will be stock. only problem is he will be stock with the downgrade. Don't think that is what he has in mind.

[TUTORIAL] D2G for noobs, 1 step root, & 1 step Recovery: Post MegaUpload demise

Just got my Droid 2 Global.
It looks like there have been a lot of the "File share sites" files taken down.
Here is what I found worked for my D2G (Droid 2 Global).
I started with version 4.5.608...
To be sure that this is your phones current version
go to settings>about phone and look at the number below System Version. If your phone does not say 4.5.608 I cant promise that this will work.
If you are at system version4.5.608 then first go here and follow these instructions.
Part one- ROOT:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1240130
I know it says for droid 3 but trust me it worked for my D2G.
Part Two-install Recovery:
Once you have achieved root open the market and download the $2.99 app "droid 2 bootstrapper".
or if you can find the file here free, then side load it.
Run the app. if you get an error then you may want to retry the first step
Dont remove the app, because you need it to boot into rcovery mode to back up your phone with Nandroid and flash your favorite Rom.
worked for me. hope this helps.
Yeah, you could check the wiki or the sticky threads for this info.
I'm pretty sure once you have bootstraped, CWR will install a permanent CWR now. I haven't had bootstrap loaded for months. Good to have an up to date guide though.
You cannot install CWM permanently on a D2G, period.
It's just included in MIUI and CM7 (and often in other custom ROMs as well).

The bootstrap is to initially allow you to load a custom rom. After that, the bootstrap app isn't needed and flashing clockwork mod through rom manager will do.
Btw, the cwm is saved to your sd card, so while it doesn't stay on the phone, if you load rom manager, it will generally say you have cwm flashed already.
beepea206, I'm not really sure what you are talking about as, first, CWM doesn't install itself to the SD card. All the SD card has is, settings, backups, and the install script.
CWM can't run from the SD card because during its startup, the card is not even mounted.
Second, as I already mentioned CWM is included in most of currently supported custom ROMs. Using ROM Manager to flash it might even force your device into a bootloop.
Right, the backup is on the sd card. My point is, if you had a recovery flashed, when you open rom manager for the first time on a new install, it will show cwm as already flashed. And even when I've wiped data and flashed a new rom, like cm7, I was able to boot into recovery, without ever opening rom manager or flashing cwm in the new rom, so it must access the backup on the sd card.
beepea206, I don't know why I should repeat this again, but CM7 includes CWM.
In Froyo times there still were CM7 builds without CWM included, and you had to use Droid2 Bootstrap Recovery like on stock.
Not every rom comes with cwm or rom manager, yet if you install rom manager on those roms, it will show you have cwm already flashed. I used cm7 purely as an example.
DO NOT USE DROID 2 BOOTSTRAP!!!! it doesnt work on the droid 2 global. you will not be able to format system and therefor will not be able to flash any roms or restore any nandroids. You must use DROID X bootstrap!!!
DROID2 Bootstrap works fine on my D2G. I'm not quite sure what are you on about.
Droid 2 bootstrap works fine

[Q] [CWM] Recovery backups not working?

So, I just did a backup of my Glorious Overdose setup using the voodoo recovery it comes with and I got MD5 errors while trying to restore...
Anyone else have this issue?
I never restored from a cwm successfully, I think its not fully functional. Red nor orange... luckily I saved my apps & settings using mybackup
I have also had this problem. if anyone knows why, please let us know. I was able to restore data, but a couple funny things happened. when restoring, i get error restoring boot image or md5 sum mismatch. when restoring data, my phone stuck at restoring android_secure. i pulled the battery and rebooted. luckily that didnt brick my phone.
fiveseven808, did you flash cwm through rom manager? if so, i think that might be the problem. i flashed through rom manager and was having problems backing up/restoring. i went to this thread: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124453 and downloaded the update.zip file in the first post, saved in my download folder. i then went to the root of my sd card and deleted the update.zip file that was there. i moved the other update.zip from my download folder to the root of my sd card. rebooted into cwm and took a backup no problem.

I did! But I was unable to use it... or something really strange happened..
Before Glorious Overdose, I could boot into CWM 3 using the recovery boot method. After Glorious Overdose, I realized I could boot into CWM Voodoo with the three button method getting around the stock recovery, and boot into a VERY broken CWM 4 via ROM manager.
Will your advice fix whatever I did wrong?
I have no idea, but you could try it and see. if it doesnt, your no worse off than you were to start with.
Update: I now know for sure that having the right update.zip file will fix the issue. I had to restore my phone today due to issues caused by unknown sources. I tried to fix the issues before doing a restore, but no luck. so I booted into cwm and hit restore. it worked without a single hitch. So the problem (for me at least) was definitely having the wrong update.zip file.
I have never had this issue, with VooDoo or regular CWM... Bad update.zip sounds like it would be the problem, as you said
i believe the issue is in the update.zip file. when flashing cwm through rom manager, i was unable to properly backup and restore. after switching the update.zip with the one found in the dev thread, i can backup and restore to my hearts content. i am very glad to have fully functional cwm on this device, as i had it on my last phone, the tmobile comet. the comet was my first android device. i was not entirely happy with it, but it gave me enough of a taste of android to figure out i wasnt going back to blackberry. prior to android, the best phone i had ever owned was a blackberry pearl. now, the sk4g is the best phone i have ever had, even better than the blackberry pearl. for me, this keyboard has no parallel, and the setup and ui is nowhere near as tough to get used to as people had been saying it was on the forums. but i digress. cwm is the best alternative to the stock recovery, and its good to have it working on this phone.

[Q] Verizon Galaxy S4 SS 3.63 can't create ROM Slot

I have rooted and ROMmed many devices but none have given me as much of a fit as this i545! I did go to mi1 and have successfully rooted it using the vega exploit and have even installed SS 3.63 (although I downloaded what it said was 3.62, it shows 3.63. Anyway, I went into SS, rebooted the phone into recovery, but I can't create a slot. Even if I go to install and list files available, it doesn't show the Hyperdrive zip that I downloaded. I put it on the internal memory as well as the SD card, did it with the SD in and SD out. It just shows there is 0mb of memory available to do anything. I have searched and searched in the forum for an answer, but can't find anyone having the problem! Any possible solutions out there? I have completely wiped the phone with Odin and redid it, including a NAND wipe and repartition and started fresh and the same result. UGH! Help me oh wise wizards of XDA!
Similar issue
I am on the MI1 build and have successfully rooted by device as well. I downloaded a couple of ROMs to my SD card, including HyperDrive and CM10. Whenever I reboot into recovery, it says E:signature verification failed and reboots me back into stock ROM. I installed Safestrap 3.63. It installs but will not reboot me into recovery. When I make that selection on Safestrap, it just power cycles my phone. I have to use CWM to get into recovery. I will follow your thread to see if there are any suggestions that might help me as well. Best of luck

Trying To Put On a New ROM, Having The Worst Time

My old phone got lost so I am using my Infuse again. I decided to update it since it is still on the old version from when it first came out. I was trying forever to update through the kies software until I realized I rooted it and so this won't work. So then I found out there are roms for way better versions anyways. So I found the Cyanfox rom and I wanted to do that, but I needed to first upgrade to cm9 so I went and downloaded the cm9 file and got the clockworkrecovery, and I installed it.
Now my phone will not turn on, it sits as samsung screen. And if you try to go to recovery it is just a messed up screen with all different colors as if the screen was broken. So now my only option to bea ble to install anything on it is through odin. I can get to download mode fine.
But this damn odin software will not detect my phone for the life of me. It literally will not work. I don't understand. I have spent hours upon hours on this between the past few days. I just want to update my damn phone.
Now I have to leave for work in 30 minutes and my phone doesn't work. This is just great.
How did you install CWM?
Sent from my Asus MeMO Pad 8"
Well I tried clockworkmod through the rom manager app, but I was running the android recovery 3e and it said I needed a modified version of that to be able to install 3e. So I replaced the recovery file with the one I was given, and then I manually installed cwm by naming it update.zip and running it on the recovery
The only problem was that every time I wanted to use cwm, it would go back to android recovery 3e, and I would have to click install again to get it to go into cwm.
Either way, it doesn't work anymore and I just need the damn thing to connect to Odin so I can flash it back.
Are you using a desktop or laptop? If desktop, are you using the USB ports in the back? If laptop, have you tried different USB ports? Maybe try a different computer? I've heard that USB 3.0 doesn't play nicely with ODIN so it's good to find some 2.0 connections. What Windows version? I've heard that Win8 can cause problems. Could also try Heimdall instead of Odin.
Unless I think of anything else, is the cable in good working order (recent successful file transfer)?
Alright. I got things working somewhat. I had to use different drivers for each program for it to be able to detect it. I don't know, its annoying as hell, but it worked when I went back and forth between drivers.
Anyways, I got my device restored. But the whole point of this was that I was trying to get to the KitKat rom(Cyanfox). I am still quite a few steps away from that. I am actually further away than when I started,
This is what originally happened: I had my device rooted(from when I last used it, 1-2 years ago) and had the 3e recovery. So I found out I needed a modified 3e so I could install Clockworkmod. Got that, all was well, and the thing basically got bricked when I went to update to a new rom. It wasn't the kitkat rom, but a CM9 rom that I needed to go to first so that I could then update to kitkat.
Now I got it unbricked, and I updated it using kies. So now I am on gingerbread. So then I rooted it again. So now I have the 3e recovery again, the only problem is when I go to system/bin/ there is no file called recovery, and I can put one there but it does not affect the recovery, it still looks for signed files, meaning I cannot install Clockworkmod.
Not sure what to do...
Seems everyone follows this process (looks like you already did step one) now....
1. Either use Odin or Heimdall One-Click. Follow instruction on how to do it.
2. While phone running install sgs kernel flasher from Market/Google Play.
2a. Copy/transfer Synthesis GB Kernel to your Internal SD card.
2b. Start up sgs kernel flasher and choose it from your Internal SD card. Phone will auto-reboot after done flashing.
2c. Wait a bit while your phone convert to new partition format and activate lagfix. Your CWM recovery version should be 2.5.1.3
3. Reboot phone into CWM Recovery and DISABLE vodoo lagfix and /system lagfix. Reboot once done. Phone will convert partition to old format. If you don't turn the lagfix off the phone will hang at Samsung logo when you install new rom.
4. Prepare your flavor rom/gapp for installation by copying them to your Internal SD card.
4a. Go into CWM Recovery mode and install the rom. You will need to do this twice since the 1st time was just a warning about partition format being different.
4b. Reboot once done. You will need to REMOVE the battery to power down the booting process and put it back in.
4c. Go into the New CWM Recovery and install the rom again since the previous attempt only install the new CWM Recovery.
5. Install Gapp.
6. a. Wipe: Cache / Factory Reset <--- Probably don't need it since it's new install from stock unless you installed stuff. Just to be safe.
b. Wipe: Cache Partition
c. Wipe: Dalvik Cache
7. Reboot

I never tried step two myself, as I found a flashable download for ODIN that did this for me. But mine is a Rogers phone (not AT&T) so that would not work for you. Hope this helps.
Thanks you so much man. I know that is just copy/paste but I didn't see it, and it works. I was looking in Cyanfox thread, never looked at the Beanstalk thread.
Anyways I am in the process of doing this and it seems like it will work. Appreciate all your help!
Edit: Boom. Worked like a charm. Thanks so much. I am very happy now The funny thing is, half the reason I wanted this is cause everyone was group messaging, and I didn't have that capability anymore when I lost my phone(I was on such an old version). Again thanks so much.
