I just installed the Alien Rom on my Skyrocket. The thread says that a 5 icon dock has been added to the rom. I cannot seem to find out how to add the 5th icon on my dock. I only show 4. Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

You would think it would be that easy but when I drag an icon the dock disappears and the "remove Recycle bin" appears.
Hit applications drawer button then soft menu > edit. That will bring up the screen where you can drag and drop out of the tw dock. To add a fifth icon, drop the new one between two existing icons.

That worked, thank you!

If it's not using Apex Launcher, I would suggest you giving it a shot. It's the smoothest launcher I've used.

I want only two icons for my dockbar with the icons being on the opposite corners. To do this, I need to set dock icons to 5 inorder to add icons to both sides. Unlike launcher pro,adw has a weird + icon to indicate nothing is assigned to that dock column. I jus want to make it transparent. Any way to do this? Thanks in advance
You have to make a shortcut to something. In desktop visualizer you can choose to "do nothing", but I think this may only be possible for widgets, not shortcuts. Just get a transparent icon and use as the icon. You can change the icon by long pressing on the shortcut on the dock then tapping the icon to change it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there a way I can create a shortcut to do nothing?
Long press & select custom shortcut. Under activities choose desktop visualizer. At the bottom choose none (empty activity) or something like that. Then change to a transparent icon.
Of course you have to have it installed to do this, but it'll work

Desktop VisualizeR can help you to creat a shortcut to do nothing, but you can't drag it to the dockbar.

It's in the ADW launcher settings, look for the dock icons option, then just drag and drop you apps you want in the new spots.

If you want more icons to choose from, download new themes from the market or from within dock settings under themes
If you want more icons on the dock it self (eg 5 instead of 3) then you hit the soft menu key, go to more. Click adw settings. Its in there somewhere under dock icon as stated above.

So I went to ADW settings, General Behavior and this is all I see. SENSE PREVIEWS, CLOSING FOLDER, SHOW NOTIFICATION, BUBBLE FONT SIZE, HOME BUTTON BINDING, SWIPE DOWN ACTIONS, SWIPE UP ACTIONS AND DOUBLE TAP ACTIONS.
This is really frustrating.
Do you mean as a shortcut icon, lets say if you click the icon the app drawer is launched?
The instructions I gave were for ADW Launcher EX. Sorry about that. Should've asked which version.

OK, I give up...............
How do I change DOCK icons in the Sony Ericsson launcher on Captivate.......I trying to avoid doing "firmware" mods.....Something on the screen, I'm missing?
It looks like it cannot be done, but then what do I know
Open the app drawer, press the settings soft key and go to options or edit I believe. You should be able to drag and drop new icons.

Hold the dock icon you want to change and then drag to trash bin. Then go to app drawer and hold the icon and drag to the dock.
Hope this helps

dock options
If you like the stock TW Launcher you can change the email icon by going into your app drawer and tap your menu button thats at the bottom of your phone. Then click edit, you'll see your dock at the bottom zoom out and move to the middle. Now you can long press on the mail icon once you feel the vibrate you can move it back to the app section. Then you can move another app you want down to the dock.
If you don't like the TW Launcher you should try Go Launcher EX , its free in the android market, and its very customizable.
Hope that helps
Use downloaded icon packs meant for third-party launchers, on the LG UI from the Google Playstore.
First and foremost, a thank you goes to @mgbotoe for previously posting how to change each individual icon within the LG interface/UI.
Specific Post HERE
Tutorial:
1. Download the app "ThemeX - Theme Extractor" from Play Store.
This app extracts and saves icons and wallpapers from installed third-party launchers apk's. (I.E.: Go Launcher, Adw launcher, Apex Launcher, Nova Launcher and Go Locker)
2. Download and install your favorite theme/icon pack (from any launcher) from the Play Store. (No need to have that actual launcher installed.)
3. In the app, select your newly installed theme/icon pack and select which icons you would like to use. Then click on the save button on the top right. (Diskette icon) To save them to a newly created folder inside the ThemeX data folder.
The images will be available/accessible in your gallery.
4. To use your new icons, long press on any icon. Once you see the mini paint brush icon, remove your finger and tap the icon again , click on add new and complete action with Gallery.
Browse your Gallery for the icon of your choice. (Will be listed in a new album labeled 'icons')
**Once the icon has been added it will remain in LG's 'Icon Change' menu. Even if the icon image is deleted in your gallery. **
( I guess we will have to wait for Root in order to delete them from there)
Now repeat these steps for each app.
Omg, I had completely forgotten about this app! Thank you for the reminder. I had used this back when I had my g3.
Thank you very much!
Nice work @gerry_753 I complete forgot about themeX when I originally answered!
Can you still use a custom launcher? I just want to change the icons for my second screen. I'm following instructions but don't see the paint icon when long pressing.

I personally love the LG Launcher so much, I have not bothered with any other. With Tweakbox...its out of this wooooorld
I saved the icon. Found it in gallery, but when I long press the icon through the gallery I don't see the paint icon. Tried it also on the home page. What am I doing wrong?

Long press on the icon you currently wish to change. Like if you want to change the Phone icon long press on Phone and it will show you the paint brush.

Hrmm, from what you said I'm assuming you're trying to change your Gallery icon and you are clicking on the replacement icon image? So you need to have the shortcut you want to change on your home screen/desktop. (In your case the Gallery shortcut) Can't change them in your app drawer. And click and hold on the home screen/desktop icon (the app icon you want to change) for a second and the brush will appear. Release and press on it again.
Thanks for the tip on ThemeX, and for the instructions in general.
I was able to get the icons fine, but every one of them has a black background that doesn't turn transparent when I add them as icons on my home screen. Does anyone know a way to bypass this?
I use an icon pack called Materialistik. It themes the entire devices icons. Lock screen, second screen, app drawer, qslide, and home screen of course. If you install it go to home screen themes and select 'materialistik' and apply. The screen will appear blank, but trust me hit apply and it will work.

This is what is see. Trying to change my Gmail icon, which is nova already, but want it to be in the second display. If I long press it gives me the option to remove it. That's why I was wondering if it works with nova launcher.
Works with stock launcher, but it didn't change in second screen yet, trying a reboot.

I'm assuming it is theme dependant. It's just the way the themer decided to create them. Unless you transfer them to your computer and use like photoshop to make the black transparent, your stuck with it unfortunately. (If there are less than 20 that you really want to use, you can PM me the theme and I can do it for you)

Yeah, Nova Launcher is a completely different animal. With it's own rules and setup. (I know adw launcher allows you to change each individual icon ontop of any theme.)
This tutorial is only for people who want to change the homescreen icons in the stock LG UI.
***And also, this only changes the icons on the homescreen. Not the second display and not the app drawer. ***
Thank you and thanks @mgbotoe for these helpful tips.
I'm pretty certain that you could just add this line to the android_manifest in any decompiled icon pack and then compile it, sign and install the apk and it would work. Seems a lot quicker if you ask me and a hell of a lot less painful!

There are some icon packs in playstore that support the LG home Launcher. Just search for them.
They change all icons that the icon pack supports.
I like the moonrise icon pack most.
