Chatting with miui about the one s miui development they stated it was possible! So hopefully soon we will have the option to have miui. Who here likes the plans

Anything is possible with Android. Not to piss on your parade. And I'm sure we'll see MIUI make it to the One S.
Just saying that when they say it's possible, that doesn't mean much.
Agreed, it's possible but it's up to the whims on xiaomi. I really hope that they'll release MIUI for the One S. That's really the only ROM i'd care to flash.

Just curious: WHY? I've never had any interest in MIUI. It just seems like a cheap imitation of iOS. Sure, it looks nice, but why not just get an iOS device?
Obviously flash what you want, but I've always been curious why people like MIUI.
For me MIUI V4 is the best ROM I ever had. I hope it'll be available for 1S soon.

Honesty miui is nothing like ios... Y should give it a try, but why you asked, but well let's see, the superior customisation from the miui theme manager, fast, stable, great battery life (yes better than Cm7) and many more. I use it with golaucher and believe me, it looks good and performs great!

I saw a post over in the N1 and Droid forums for this ROM developed over in china.
It looks pretty awesome and I was just wondering if there was anyway or anyone working on porting this for us? Yes it looks a little iPhoney but it's still a nice looking ROM.
You can google MIUI to find the original website, but you'll need to translate it to be able to read all of it.
Sorry if someone already posted about this, did a search though and didn't see anything here. Thanks to anyone who helps or replies.
Just did a quick google, and come to find out it's zenulator's (Dunno who did it) rom and he's wanting everyone porting the rom to different androids to put source link and credit on their threads.
Here's the link to his code:
http://code.google.com/p/zen-droid/downloads/list
And here's the link to the post he put up about credit (and a badass vid of the ui!)
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/zenulator/84360-rom-zen-miui-v2-android-2-2-miui.html
And here's the official link *hint* use google chrome to view, so you can just hit translate to read it!!
http://www.miui.com/index.php
also.. read some of the forum. Damn those folks hatin' on us westerners/english folk (on translation anyways)
Dunno if that can be ported yet because 2.2 JUST became stable for our hero, however I can't say it's at all impossible because he has the source posted. I would be interested in seeing this myself.
Would be awesome if it could be ported. It looks nice and smooth. Something like that could perhaps convince me I don't need sense

If we had this a lot of people would be convinced they don't need sense. I've been using the wildfire port as my daily but this ROM has my mouth watering.
I would definately like to have this on my device!
Awesome ROM, hopefully we hear from Zen soon. *hint hint*
Me too I would like this on my device

its not zenulators rom..
"I enjoyed porting MIUI to my droid and sharing it with everyone else."
he ported the rom not created it..
but what i can't understand is, the hero (well android in general) is so much more diverse in what can be done with it, why make it look like an iphone??? i feel like this is a step backwards in developing.. the iphone has done this already.. why do we want to adopt this now?

Personally, I love it. I love the way the iphone look also. I just don't like the functionality of the iphone. But the cartoonish look of it can be pleasing.

Just because the main framework of the rom is similar to iPhone looks, doesn't mean it can't be themed. We want it based on functionality and speed, not looks.

Hmm, this is true. We could just get the port, and then theme it like Sense if we wanted... how badass would that be?
Miui is built for hdpi devices. You will have to build it from source and modify it for mdpi.
There is no reason this can't be done. Since its essentially a heavily modified aosp 2.2.
It runs great on my MOTO droid.
I just don't have the time to make it work on the hero.
Also its rumored cyanogen and crew is working on incorporating some of the features into cyanogenmod.

You are one lucky man to be running this.
I'd like to see Cyanogen use as much of Miui's features as he possibly can.

sense 3.0 YES!!!!
i would love a sense rom on this phone! not a fan of gb or cm7. they are good roms but sense is nice and even if takes resources the g2x has plenty to spare, wouldnt affect much on it. my hd2 ran sense beautifully and as bad ass a phone as it was it wasnt quite the powerhouse i have now. sense would be nice addition to the rom dev for those of us who enjoy that type of ui.
thanks in advance to any devs that work on a sense rom for this phone
I cant believe ya really dont want sense one this beautiful phone >_>

+1 To this. A wide range of roms for a wide range of people is what we need on a phone. Sense brings a lot of features that stock doesn't have and an ease of use that people like. I'm looking forward to sense on the g2x,and miui, and gs2 twiz, etc. bring on the variety!
i would like to test different roms on this phone. i like miui, gingerbread, aosp, and sense. You know what i dont like STOCK. so lets bring whatever roms we can get to our side. If we didnt have ANY ROMS to flash people would be complaining. Be grateful. I dont really see what the big dispute is about. If you dont like it DONT FLASH IT. Problem solved. Some builds bring different things to the device. Gingerbread doesnt cover everything. Whatever rom is posted i flash it, if i dont like it i flash back. Some of you just want to be difficult.
Heck yeah I would want sense. CM7 is nice. If they get sense ported on here, I bet it will be faster than the sensation. The sensation only gets like 1300 in quadrant. Don't give me that quadrant isn't optimized for gingerbread cause it is. I'm sure this phone would be like 2000 via quadrant with sense added

I love CM7 but when I wanna show off to my buddies I'll flash a sense rom. So 95% of the time CM7 will be installed. I just like having alot of rom options. Also as many roms/kernels as possible.
what!

whats is the bestest rom for the g2x besides cm7, i hate their roms
I find myself being annoyed by your post... Decide for your self. Sack up and flash something! If you don't like it flash something else.
What are you looking for in a rom? Speed? Stability? Peggle? LG camera? HBO2go?
There is give and take in all the roms. I like cm7 but I like the LG camera. Can't have both right now, so I stick with speed and stability and run cm nightlies most of the time... tried them all at one time or another...
I gotta know... What do you hate about cm7?

MIUI = My Android thinks it's an iPhone.
I personally don't like the iPhone UI so I would not switch to MIUI. If you like the look and feel of the iPhone UI give MIUI a try. If not, stay clear of it.

The only thing that is even remotely iPhone-esque about MIUI is that the stock launcher has no app tray. Use Go Launcher or LP if you want an application drawer. Otherwise it doesn't feel or look anything like iOS.
If you are bored with standard Android, you should absolutely try MIUI. Don't let some tool tell you not to try something. Even if you do decide you don't like it, at least you'll have made the decision yourself.
MIUI themes/lockscreens are enough reason to try it out.

Sure you have various skins etc but I am talking about right at the very core, take even the messaging app as an example iOS has a beautiful glass effect, android has a horrible box, even the menus etc don't come close to Apple, Sure this is all minor but I remember looking at my first iPod touch and thinking WOW just by its appearance, i've never said that about androids appearance, now functionality is a different story completely but this is purely about aesthetics.
Each to his own, I like the non gloss, but then I use the same windows theme that's on 98.. soo.. Just me maybe

OP, I'm not sure what you're after, but with a little work, I've gotten my Android looking much more pleasing than my jailbroken iPhone ever did. The previous suggestion of MIUI is what might be right for you. For SMS specifically, GoSMS looks fantastic, and is customizeable to boot.
That is the joy of Android. You are never stuck with what you have. You have the ability to customize everything.

It has always been like that: If you want it just working for normal use, looking sharp and staying out of trouble, take the iPhone. If you are willing to put effort in it, take Android and you can make everything just a little bit better. If you are not willing to, dont..

It's such a pet peeve when people compare MIUI to the iPhone. In no way are they even remotely the same.
The only thing that's similar about it is the fact that it has no launcher. Other than that, MIUI is more Android than anything else.
Does iOS have widgets? What about transition effects? A pull down notification tray with an array of toggles? Hundreds of themes and really nice lock screens?
The list goes on.
