is virtuous Inquisition 4.0 a good stable rom? - HTC Sensation

Hi, I'm running virtuous 3.0 and I was thinking of upgrading to 4.0, are there any known issues, ? How stable is it? Does wifi, camera, tethering ect.still work on 4.0? All opinions are welcome. Thank you

It's stable & wifi, camera, tethering, ect. work on 4.0.1! v4.0.2beta was released yesterday and is rocken for me also!!

I keep coming back to this from. Very stable and smooth. Go for it.

I loved it for a week... Then force closes started appearing and phone would freeze and had to pull battery, battery life, so so. Nothing helped, now I've been on hyper nonsense for quite some time and is just awesome and smooth, and battery life is quite good, I'm pulling 16 t0 20 hours on heavy usage and wifi on all day with brightness set to around 60%

[Q] Best and Fastest ROM + Kernel

What is the Fastest ROM and Kernel out there for the Desire S ?
-Sense Rom and
- CM7 Rom
This question has been asked too many times
But to answer the question, go for oxygen or cyanogenmod if you want speed
Use tiamat for overclocking or just stick with the cm kernel. I found it didn't really make a difference
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
I am very pleased with my current combination of Tiamat and Miui, its very fast and smooth with zero glitches or crashes.
i only found a Desire Version of the Oxygen Rom, can i take this version ?
No you cannot. Do not try it.
Here is the link for oxygen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235864
There is still one issue but if that bothers you try out cyanogenmod.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
here the link, if u want to try cyanogen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297575
IMO, stock sense 3.0 and android 2.3.5 is fast and smooth as cyanogenmod and miui but the difference is only used heavier resource.
I'm using Endymion V2.2, its fast and stable
I'm using stock gingerbread launcher and cm7.1 and tiamat kernel 1.1.5 fast and stable
im not sure of kernals but, felt oxygen is slightly more faster than cyanogenmod nightly build 52 during my use...
I'm using the Virtuous Rom for my Desire S. Works smooth and ist also stable with a CPU underclocked to 100mhz. Cause I'm new to the Forum I cant post the Link but the domain is: virtuousrom.com
Ok, i will try first the Virtuos ROM ad then the CM7 Stable and Nightly
CM7 all the way its so fast and great battery life
I am using CM7 for a while now. I think it's pretty good. Also, flashed Tiamat kernel an hour ago. Seen some YT videos saying that this kernel is fast and gives battery a good run. Well, I'll hope it's all true.
Of you decide to go with sense, I recommend sense 3.5 ROM as they are significantly faster than sense 3.0 ROMs

Are there any sense 3.5 Roms with working Bluetooth? I have had a few issues so far and use bluetooth in my car very often

Strange. I get +36hours with heavy use. Thats at least 3 to 4 hours with screen on (set on auto), loads of sync, calls, texts, music ecy.
I think it's okay batterylife isn't it?

[Q] Virtous Inquision or HyperNonSense?

I am very confused. What should i chose?
HyperNonSense has AOKP apps, but Inquisition has the ability to install a live wallpaper, unlike HyperNonSense.
Any thoughts?
I've used both. I like hypernonsense cuz its lighter with less Google crap. But I think Inquisition is a bit more stable and faster. So I stuck with that. So I am happy. I just hate sense roms lol

ditto, i'm sure once ICS dev matures a bit the differences will probably come down to features. Right now I like what the virtuous team has done with their rom. i used hypersensation for a looooong time before now so i may migrate later on. for now, i'm really liking virtuous
does virtuous support bluetooth calling? last time i tried, i can only listen to music, not making phone call.
also, just yesterday someone post a patch for live wallpaper in hypersensation thread. dunno if it works.
Love the HNS quick and stable. Kristof is really fast when it comes to update and bugfixes.
live wallpaper patch indeed works. i used virtous previously and tested the latest build, but i prefer hypernonsense.
i've been on HNS since v0.8 and the builds have been great. stable, fast, and everything works. i like the fact that HNS is a very lean rom and there's practically no remnants of sense/htc apps.
anyone experiencing clock drift issues with virtous inquisition ? im running VI4.0.2 and the clock loses 1min every hour.. why is that ? does HNS have the same issue ?

Which Rom are you running ?

I was wondering which Rom are you guys running ?
Which gives you guys the best battery life ?

Seconding VI 4.0.1
Running on a day and a half of battery life and only down to 30% w/ an Anker 1900.
I tried to get into ARHD
Really, I tried. But...
HTC Sense.. just ... ugh. I'm disgusted with it.
I've used ARHD before ICS and after, in my opinion, it's the most stable.
But I'm currently running OrDroid with Sense 4, I think Sense 4 is way better than 3.6.
I'm running Ordroid v.1.8.7 (sense 4) and I'm loving it ! using a power saving kernel too, called Anthrax!
Ya I'm running arhd

Android Revolution 6.5.5
I use the gears of war battery mod and nova launcher.
It's a great combination of speed and stability. Android Revolution has proven the most stable in my uses.

using ARHD 6.6.0 currently, have been using ARHD versions mostly since getting my sensation last June. have tried cyanogen mod 7.1 as well as a couple of others without sticking with them for long.
this virtous inquisition doesnt have the phone unlock issue on receiving a call anymore right? been thinking of going for a closest to vanilla ICS experience for a bit.
Another ARHD user here
For me its the most stable. I can get 2 days battery too !
i love the modded stock look so for me its a winner.

Haha, I consider myself a moderate user...
Wifi on always - overclocked to 1.6ghz (on demand) min freq 328ghz
I guess im just lucky lol
I dont use auto brigtness, I select my own and leave it... Auto brightness for me was the biggest battery drain, It did not adjust properly and screen was using over 65% of battery
Now its down to about 25% ish

Virtuous Inquisition >> I like it senseless. Battery life is decent on moderate use, yet to try a different kernel to see if I can squeeze more.
ARHD is solid. very stable and good battery life.
Ofcourse battery life depends on how you use. I have not been lucky with battery since me HD2 days, but adjusting the brightness helps as stater.
VI v4.0.1 nosense 99% aosp and it's rocken!
Opensation ICS 4.0.4
I am a big fan of CyanogemMod 9 thought it has some minor bugs. For me its 98 percent stabl and 100 percent ics vanilla. I get 14 to 15 hours on a single charge with my 5 months old stock battery. I
Ordroid 1.9.0

[Q] T-Mobile ICS Upgrade: Loss of Free Tethering

Hi,
I haven't really posted here but I do follow up on major threads.
Due to t-mobile's bogus update requiring we pay $15/mo for tethering which i use maybe once a month I will be installing ICS myself. I'm looking for a ROM that is pure vanilla Android that has everything working including bluetooth, tethering, and the camera. Any advise to which ROM i should install and a link on how to install would be great. (There is so much info here reading it all would take hours)
My goal here is to get vanilla ICS that has all the features working and I only want to do this once.
Thank you in advance!
hi,I use Virtuous Inquisition 4.0.2 everything
ALL WORKS! However, it is a sence-less rom, which I personally love but its not for everyone. I tell you its smooth, fast, super great battery life, I even get a better network signal, and I love the fact that everything works! Wi-Fi, hotspots, tethering, Bluetooth, it all works!
You also might like this rom, take a look at the specs see what you think

You can find the rom here in developers area. They are all there and you can check out the specs for each rom their.

[POLL] Which ROM are you using?

Seeing that there are many options to choose from, I guess than a poll may help us decide. Which ROM are you using now. Are you happy with it and would you suggest it to others?
i'm using the stock one as it shows in my signature.i'm very happy with it
there is no need to suggest it to every one else because everybody has seen it:silly:

it's ok man.don't worry
I am using bruces CM10 ROM. Working great!
I'm on DragunKorr's Paranoid Android 2.11.
Buttery as hell and i love the hybrid modes. It's not 100% working yet, but the missing elements are so minor that they don't affect me for how I use my phone.
If I weren't using this, I'd be on Bruce's CM10. He really set the standard there with that one and it's only cos I love the hybrid modes that I'm not using it.
Both ROMs have breathed new life into my phone - finally, the full power of the sensation has been realised!!!
pyromod CM9 here, pretty stable and fast. Good battery life too. I would definitely suggest it.
On Bruce's cmx and enjoying it very much very pleased that the CRT animations are fully functioning and the stock SMS app had pop ups now like hand cent does ^^ once they manage to get the front facing camera functioning I will never leave it I have also used berserk mode on by memnoc which I thought was very nice but the fact that I couldn't use wii remotes through Bluetooth on my emulators pushed me to full aosp not too sure where I am going with this aside from Bruce's cmX is highly recommended by me  front facing camera and usbotg is all we need now
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium
What about battery life, how is it?
I've tried several different roms. Virtuous Inquisition is good but it was giving me wrong battery reading, kept jumping up and down and I couldn't tell how much battery I had. CM9 is nice but the front facing camera doesn't work (at least on the versions I've tried). CM10 Jelly Bean by Bruce is great but it's unfinished, a couple of things are not working (front facing camera for 1).
I'm on ViperS 1.2.1 right now and I LOVE it. The rom is pretty fast and stable. I enjoy the tweaks the devs have put on it a lot. Battery life is pretty decent. I got around 18 hours on average use.
I think if you want speed and smoothness, go for the CM or AOSP builds, they beat all other in that department. I personally enjoy Sense 4 so I go with Viper S.
I used HyperNonSense for 5 months and just flashed Android Revolution HD an hour ago, no reason other than trying new rom
you have not forgotten anything? smartdroid daemon sense 4? I do not see
Used OpenSensation for some time and was very satisfied except that many icons and fonts are just too small for me. Switched to Anroid Revolution HD 6.7.2 and I love it.
Battery life is just average I think. Since I disabled Wifi, I can live with it.

Hi there, I'm using Viper Rom. I am happy with it! The update had made it much better I do have some weird issues sometimes like Bluetooth turning on by itself but for me that's about the only negative issue I'm experiencing. I do like the customization and really like sense 4.1. I would like to see better battery life from the Rom.but I'm now using sebastian kernel with mod and a slight under volt plus a new mugen battery and I've actually managed to stay on 100% for three hours! Thank God! So hopefully the battery issue is solved. But all in all for the people who like sense roms, yes I would recommend viper. Hope this information helps some how and I wish you the best!
sent from HTC sensation, soff, 3.33 firmware, viper Rom, sense 4.1, mugen battery. please press thanks if I helped in anyway.
I've been between hypernonsense and miui...love the jellybean roms but it hard for me to get over no flashplayer support

I use Viper 1.3.0
Major categories of custom ROM according to me are -
Sense based - sense 4.0 based or
Sense 3.6 based
sense 4 based
Eg viper, insertcoin, ordroid etc
Sense 3.6 based -
Eg arhd, elegancia, etc
IPhone look - MIUI
Samsung look - cyanogen mod
Plain android - AOKP/AOSP Based
I have very less experience on these. I prefer sense based.

Rom is pretty good. There's not front facing camera, but that's about the only bad point I've found really.
hi guys...
Thanks for this poll...and result...i am trying to flash custom ROM to my sensation 4g...it is very informative to select the right one...once again thanks....
