just looking to get it back to factory to hopefully get the mms working again.

yeah i've found plenty threads about it, but all are dead links with either MU or FS or whatnot.
I see well you could nvflash the stock rom gimme a min and I'll get the link

The rom is already rooted if i remember correctly
it's the same method I used to upgrade from froyo
and no prob dude.
P.S if you don't know TMO is pushing out an OTA so if ur with them u get a new baseband and 2.3.4 rom and I've heard it solves a lot of issues but beware if u do update u won't be able to make calls on any other roms than stock because of.the new baseband

ok so basically i can nvflash to get back to lg stock rom, not worry about unrooting, update to 2.3.4 ota, and profit?
If you want to send multimedia.. just use Go SMS - with go u can send anything and it wont be send as an MMS, instead it is sent through the network. I dont have an MMS plan and I can send them easily.

doesn't work. for a while it would only work if a pic was sent to that phone first. but now that has stopped.

Right, I assumed that would probably be the case. I was talking about the other stuff kernals/basebands or anything at all that could possibly be different which would actually fix this phone.
A friend is downloading it now (he was still on froyo) we will compare and let you guys know if anything appears to have been updated over the first "update/fix".

What if your not on tmobiles network anymore? I'm in between phones right now and just using my g2x as a mini tab until I decide what my next device will be. Do I need to be a current T-Mobile customer in order to receive the ota thru wifi?

Make a backup of your messaging app, then replace it with this one. Will take about 5 minutes to know if it works, rather than waiting for an answer.
When u Try to download it says it downloads successfully but i can't find it any where on my phone, If i click on open after the dl it says file type not supported?

Because it's a .zip. Unzip it and it'll be in there.

I have no issues sending and receiving mms. Just tried it and it works just fine. Do you have your APN setup correctly? Is your RIL matching your baseband?

I had the same issue too, backed up old mms reinstalled and MMS works again, im on the phone with tmobile as I type to see if they can get it working with the updated black .apk if not its back to stock for me

How did you guys installed the Black MMS? Did you flash it under Recovery or did you just replaced the apk file? Did you clean the cache, Dalvik cache and fix permissions?
Hello guys I've a problem with the Dialer, when I want to call a company and they gave me some options like press 1 to sales and press 2 to help or press # to go back etc... before I made update for a custom rom was working but now it's not working I press and I hear the button pressed but doesn't go anywhere. can any one help me on that.
Views: 61 and no one helped me out.
What rom are you running? I had this problem when i was running the Indian rom. Give some more info on the rom that you are on and i might be able to help you.

Well I use MERetail-MEARET rom.
I have not flashed this rom yet. To tell you the truth i did not know it was available to flash until a minute ago. I had not been checking that part of the dev section lately. I'm downloading that rom now and i will flash it later this evening when i get some free time to see what is going on with the dialer, plus i haven't tried that rom yet and it will give me a new toy to play with for a little bit. Like i said before i had this problem with the Indian rom and it bugged the hell out of me. Give me some time and ill get back to you on this later tonight or tomorrow.

Not going to flash today. I got busy with life and good weather outside. If you are having that big of issues with it go back to stock or maybe someone else can help. Sorry i couldn't help just got to busy and don't have the time to flash a rom right now. Once i do i will work on it then post it if i figure out anything.

Alright it's fine I just hoped you can do it today and tell me what you've done on the Indian rom maybe it's same issue. untill you flash that rom and have some time for this.
Tried to get the dialer problem fixed and this is above my knowledge. Since no one else has replied your best bet would be to go back to stock or flash another rom where the dial pad is not a problem. Sorry i tried, it's just beyond me.

what's news about this problem?
Have you tried flashing a different ROM, as suggested? Seems like something went awry with your download and/or flashing. Searched this ROM in the forum for like or otehr issues users have found?

it's a bug of that rom. Try another. no fix unless you know how to replace the dialer.

Is it just an issue with the dialer .apk file, and if so why not mod the rom by using another rom's dialer. apk? I'm not even sure if the dialer and phone. apk's are able to be swapped, as they may be too deeply integrated within the A2's framework. Sorta beyond my knowledge base.

ESPT works perfect on newSense . Just checked it. Oh and in order to check if it's working just tap in ##3282# on the Dial Pad. That will pop up a Menu that says View, or Edit. If you choose Edit your going to need your MSL. If you don't have it you can get it by DL'ing MSL Reader Free in the Play Store .

You just described my rom I have rom manger.. is that what your talking about? I told you that on talk but I thought you wanted "stock" "stock" so that's why I linked you to the ruu. If you want to keep root and just activate it over the phone basicly with sprint then the rom on rom manager is the one you want.

Just rooted using the root 66 method. Worked great. Debloated a little bit but wanna try a custom Rom. I've read but can't seem to grasp how to flash roms yet. Can anyone offer some tips? Do you need adb or can you flash wherever ?

Read the instructions on the rom you are flashing. Most times you use Clockworkmod Recovery i don't know if you go to clockworkmod with 3 button combo on galaxy S3 but yeah

If you want a kernel you have to use certain recoveries. So you can use kexec. There's more on that in original development.

Get ez-recovery, makes flashing different recoveries super easy. After flashing rom and setting up, go back to recovery and flash the kernal. That's what I did on synergy and imo's kernal. Beans v5 flashes it all at once. So far both run great with very good battery life.

Oh ok. So I just flash Rom then I'm good. On rezound you had to flash Rom, then the boot img. So it was two processes which is why I ask

Yup. You should give imo's kernal a shot, works great. Its a 2 step on synergy, but still no problem. Just passed my rezound down to the wife. And of course as soon as I did, seems like new roms started crawling out of the woodwork. I put viper res on it, now she wont let me try out any of the others, no fun.

If you flash any CM10 based ROM's you will have to do some extra steps. IMO you should just start off with Touch Wiz based ROMS so all you need to do is flash from your SD once and reboot.

I noticed that too, soon as the GS3 came out rezound ROMs starting popping up like crazy. They even have working aokp now.
