I have this tablet and Im thinking of takin the L and paying the shipping to send it back for a refund. If I cant find a rom I would at least like to root it but from research Im not quite sure which tablet I have. I dont want to brick it.
Can anyone tell me which tablet I have??

You have a superpad III/ fake fly touch that is actually a mercury.
You have no custom roms and you may or may not be able to root.
Use superoneclick, available from shortfuse.org. if that doesn't work Google search an old exploit called gingerbreak, and that MAY get u root. Don't get ur hopes up though
Ive seen a youtube vid of someone claiming this is the ibex Flytouch 4 apad. I was able to root is using RZroot or something like that but now I would like to transfer files from Sidekick 4g via USB but Im having problems. If you know of an app that would help that would be appreciated. Thanks for replying tho

Tiamat Rom 2.0 Manta Ray is great. For me, stock rom is boring. With Tiamat you get all the functions stock 3.2 still doesn't have.
If so could u help me to have Tiamat rom on mine? I think i have the stock rom rooted now.. .not sure tho cuz i dont know much about this stuff.. step by step guidance will be very helpful, thanks alot
You do need to know whether you are rooted and what rom you are currently running. This information will determine what method you use to flash the Tiamat rom.Have you tested to see if you have root? That will make things easier.
thanks okantomi for your advice, the guy who sold this xoom to me told me it's rooted. i even downloaded a few apk apps and they work fine. i am sure it's rooted but i don't know what type of rom its running. could you be able to tell what rom it's running by looking at the info? thanks..Here is info on my xoom

I have a Craig 7 inch tablet. It is supposedly based off of Rockchip.
I'm only posting specs to avoid confusion.
Specs:
Model #: CMP738A
Android Version: 2.2.1
Kernel Version: 2.6.5 YT200-700-004600000000000000 #3
Build #: froyo1.00 MASTER.eng.gump.20110331.162508
------------------------------------------------------
Like I said I have this Craig 7 inch tablet and I was just wondering; Why wouldn't I simply be able to flash android 2.3.3/.4 or android 3.2 to this device via Odin?Android is Android isn't it? I have read that it can be rooted and that there are two custom roms for this device but it seems difficult. I am not new to rooting and flashing via Odin, Super One Click, and Clockwork Mod. Just wondering what it would take to flash either of these roms to this device and if not why?

Could this be redirected to another area to where I may possibly stand a better chance for an answer?

So I bought this new phone from (what I think) is a new company, O+ (O plus, whatever).
I've tried lots of possible methods to root their Oplus 8.7 Android phone but alas, that's not happening.
I'm a bit inexperienced when it comes to ROM and builds, etc, but if it would be any help, here are the details that I can find when I checked Settings > About Phone.
System updates: Oplus_A100ALPS.GB2.MP.V2
Model number: O+_8.7_Android
Android Version: 2.3.6
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7
Build number: Oplus_A100ALPS.GB2.MP.V2
I really hope someone can help me here. Thank you.
I also have this phone. Tried using different Rooting software to no avail. The farthest I have gone to "semi-rooting" it is to change the default installation of apps and games to directly go to the SD. This phone has really bad internal memory size. Anyway, let me know if you discover a way to root this. Cheers

rooting
yep, have the same phone with same problems as with you guys.. though i found a different way to boot up the phone towards its "factory s
et-up" : turn off your phone, then after a while, simultaneously press volume down key and power button, it should bring you to the set-up i mentioned..im quite hesitant to tweak at the settings for it might break my phone, though i never found the "download" setting which ive seen in other phones has that setup which you could upload certain files in relation to rooting the phone.. Again i turned off the phone, this time i pressed volume key up and power button, and the Triangle sign with the exclamation point inside it (most known as the warning sign) with the android mascot beside the warning sign appearing on the screen, may be this leads to that "rooting" enigma we have.. hope this helps, im not a hacker but hope this leads to something.. keep me posted you guys.. thanks

I am not into experimentation with custom roms; I want ICS rooted so to remove unneeded and unwanted apps. I would also like an assessment of apps safe to remove, and again not experimental, but safe to remove without destabilizing ICS, or removal of necessary functions. I also want to tweak some settings for safe improvements in performance.
This is what I did for Gingerbread, rooted it per instructions xda, and removed unwanted apps safe to remove. I unrooted it flashed stock rom when I decided to upgrade to ICS. These successful; now have ICS, plus the security update, and want to root it, remove some apps, do some tweaks, and reinstall some apps only run on rooted.
Did I give you relevant information about what I want and my intentions? I apologize for such if I didn't. I am in Android (though I find some similarities to other Linux)
the equivalent of Newbie.
I am 70, brain still works, I believe, and want to learn to keep it working. Understand, the obvious steps in any procedure may be necessary to include for me. I am ignorant about Android more than a bit.
Respect your elders everybody lol
If I see this correctly, you want to root ICS. Click this link if you want to

The rom has to be that Baseband. My phone is a work phone. I'm a grandpa and a writer, so no wild, though elegant and beautiful creations. I just want either root method for ICS 4.0.4 T769UVMB1 rom of that.
May have to learn how to do it myself. Any books or classes you recommend? I'm in Huntsville, AL.
Thank you for your interest in helping.
I was considering getting the Google Nexus 4, except no sd slot, and battery changed with great difficulty. I watched a battery changed; it's glued down inside. Watch is done once, you dont want to do it. Now with my Blaze I carry a solar power charger and two extra charged oem batteries. I could carry two solar power chargers instead of spare batteries, same backup. The sd slot I can do without. I stream music from my home computer anyway. The Nexus solves the app problem; the apps I dont want are put on by the carrier and handset maker. Haven't found any Google system apps I dont like. I dont need to root it. The apps for unrooted I install are few now, and most from Google. I was considering the Galaxy Note III, but it aint out yet.
Thinking out visible. Excuse, apologize.

It doesn't matter what baseband you have, the root method linked to in the first reply will work just fine.
Also it doesn't matter what rom you flash either, your base band will keep. The phone will work fine on any baseband anyways, or it can be flashed to the latest one that you have from the custom recovery if it gets changed somehow.
Guys i read a lot of threads here... including some that have same name as mine... but they don't treat the same problem i have.
I am brazilian, i have a XT925 and i am newbie on motorola devices... my last ones were LG Optimus 3D and Sony Xperia Mini. Both was rooted and i used XDA ROMS until the time to seel so i returned to the original system on both. BUT i read motorola is hard to root, and has some problems on actualization when rooted,,, and to let things wrost, i am brazilian and i'd need Brazilian Vivo system to return to Stock if i need to.
But i didn't find a way to flash a brazilian stock system here for motorola Razr HD. I have some things in Vivo system that eats the memory so i'd like to root and maybe test some roms... but i am afraid about returning to stock if i need... i read that there is CWM and another recovery salled... Safe(something... i don't remember)... and some root, rom and recoveries e=need unlocked bootloader...
Tell me, please, what do u think about me to root or not considering the things above. And if i root, what would be better way considering i have
Android 4.1.2 ,
baseband VANQUISH_U_BP_100700.220.65.33P ,

Flex GAS_LA_VANQJBVIVBRLA_P013 / GAS_LA_VANQJBVIVBRLA_A011 ,
VERSION 9.8.2Q-50 - XT925_VQLM-20 .
SOOOOOOOO....
1 - do i root or not?
2 - what recovery do i should use?
3 - would i unlock bootloader? (if yes... why?)
4 - would i be able to go back to stock if i need? if yes, how?
5 - if rooted, would i sugest me to install any ROM here? Or Kernel? If yes.... what ROM/Kernel?
thank u so much, and i'm sorry for so much questions and details. That's cause i like to know what i am doing, understand all i can, even if i am not a developer, i love your skills and habilities, and i enjoy your work, that's cause i like to know about details and try to really understand it all.
