Will PayPal $10. It's not much but it's something. Sitting here at 2:30am, rolling around on my exercise ball and unable to sleep because of this lol

D'aw man... you're such a tease. An hour later and nothing lol
Time for a smoke and off to bed. Gotta get up early and see if you've uploaded that recovery image lol

What's wrong with your One XL! I loaded the CWM recovery and stuck in the bootloader, however as long as I don't go to recovery my one x works perfectly fine.
Keep me posted on how it goes. If it's possible to get the stock recovery back and I will go for it or have to wait for the development of the recovery for XL

Oh, seriously?
Only thing different that I had done was used Leedroids boot.img flasher in the process. But when my device boots, it sticks at the HTC boot screen. I'll give it another try now.

Once I know the recovery doesn't work and I stopped from there.
But now I see some problems with my one x include I can't open the camera app and also I can't use erase setting on the phone since it will boot to recovery. I understand your pain especially when we unlock the bootloader we void the warranty and there's no way to turn around except for an expensive paperweight.

WTF is wrong with you people? Any ROMs / custome recoveries that are out are for the One X, not the One XL. No wonder you're bricking your phones.

I would have thought that the fact we have two different processors would be enough of a clue not to use Rom's from the X forums.

yes one would, but it's not a perfect world. you must understand though, some people will see that they bought a h1x and in doing so, will go to that forum and start flashing whatever like idiots without reading first. there is not actually a h1xl out yet but we have two different phones out that can't be crossed.

My opinion is that if someone is not smart enough to know the difference between the One X on AT&T and the international One X, they are clearly not smart enough to be flashing their phone.

The blame is on the carriers for branding the XL with LTE as the X. It might be wise to rename this forum 'HTC One X North America' or something similar.

Yes I can. Flashing roms is inherently risky. If you aren't doing all the research, then you deserve to have a brick.

Agreed with you even I flashed the wrong recovery but the name just get confused. I am not as bad as the others since I am still using my One X for now just patiently for the recovery. The name of One XL sounds like a completely different model to me.
Sent from my HTC One X

and what about those like peterhtc or devs that have both. i doubt they would make the mistake but it must be confusing sometimes to know which rom goes to which phone.

Ah.. cut them some slack lol, hopefully a lesson well learned and hopefully an example for others not to follow suit

[Q] One X ROMs on AT&T One X...

Does anyone know if you could flash the gsm One X ROMs on the AT&T version? Not trying to have a bricked phone... Not a n00b either, been flashing ROMs since WM5. Just left Verizon and my Droid Inc(1) and its just one version so I'm just being curious.

Thanks man. Appreciate the quick answer. I should've known that. Multi-core vs dual. That would def. leave my phone as a nice paperweight. Great.... Now I have to use CleanRom instead of ARHD. I'd prefer the one I can't use... =/

I mean, you'll either get a soft or hard brick. I recall someone here flashing an int'l one x build of CM9 and I think it soft bricked him.
Either way though, bricking is bricking and isn't fun.

[Q] Bricked HOX after flashing JellyBean.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and unfortunately after a week of having my HOX, and it broke, after unlock and try many roms without any I liked, I found a call icecold jellybean in this forum, and after installation my phone is not on again, nothing, no HBOOT, no charge, no LED lights, nothing, totally dead, I'm pretty sure that it is junk, I'll have to buy a new one, but if anyone knows any solution hear suggestions, I am of Costa Rica, so the warranty does not work here HTC ... Here there is no technical service for HTC ..:crying:

You flashed a rom for the international one x... If you have the S4 version, you now most probably have a paper weight.

These are classic symptoms of flashing a ROM for the International One X on the One XL. When you do that, you overwrite part of the boot partition for the phone so it cannot boot up.
This is potentially fixable if you have access to Linux computer and know what you're doing.
I have CWM, although in this particular installation I suggested installing via teamviewer will say yes, and restart the recovery, install normal success, and to give restart did not turn over, my phone is an HTC one X from at&t , my CID is 111111, reading forums I saw it was the supercid and accepted any rom ..
if I have a computer with linux, I can fix it?
... HTC One X and xl are completely different devices. It's like flashing a Vivid rom on your XL.
To be honest I have many roms on my computer, I download that the link the AOKP jellybean, the download forum HOX at&t rogers telstar, then it is assumed if I should serve, but not if it was by mistake upload another roms that I have saved, I have several of the international HOX because I thought I worked, but then I found out that no, then do not know what could have happened

Caution: I have not done this myself and do not vouch for it. But here's the explanation I've seen before:
beaups said:
when the device is bricked (qhusb mode), after pushing and holding power for ~10 seconds - in linux shortly thereafter all of the partitions will enumerate and expose themselves to linux for about 5 seconds (you'll see sdX1, sdX3, sdX8, about 30 partitions alltogether). During that quick 5 seconds you can DD whatever you feel like back to those partitions.
.
This is how I've recovered bricks. Corrupt hboot --> Brick device. DD back correct hboot while in this mode --> unbricked

Hi,
You don't change it to Evita. THAT'S the HTC One XL codename.
Instead, you change it to Endevoru. That's HTC One S.
There are also more factors, like a product_name or something similar.
Good luck!

But wow thanks you have totally cleared up the OP's old redundant request about how to edit the build.prop to change the cosmetic name.
You have also reeducated the 350million people in USA and Canada about what HTC named their phone.
Amazing skills how you hacked get.cm to work out what name was for what phone.

One X seems easy to brick.

Ive been debating on whether I should root & go to a jellybean rom on my Att One X.
Simply because Ive been scrolling through Q&A and it seems like this phone is really easy to brick..like it seems like alot of people brick their phones.
So It is cause people dont follow directions or what?
PS: I have 60 day warranty on my phone, and Im not sure if I wanna risk it.
Only stay in this forum and don't flash an international HTC one x rom when you have a dual core non international phone and make sure the Rom is compatible with your phone and you should be fine.

you wont brick if you read first... go through the Q&A section... the only REAL bricks are from these cats flashing roms that are from a totally different phone... but also notice some noobs think they "brick" when all they forgot to do is fastboot a kernel. its all about research... theres a few people on her that go on blatantly flashing whatever they see, not even knowing the difference in devices. know your phone, know your community, know your firmware.. read a little and you'll profit big time.

Well, in truth, this phone is easy to brick. All it takes is flashing IceColdJelly or some other international roms. But this is invariably the result of impatience and overconfidence, people thinking they knew what they were doing and rushing around flashing the first rom they find or one their friend told them to try without taking the time to be sure they were using the right methods.
You seem cautious and wary, and that's good. Just stay in the "AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL" forum and you'll be fine. Don't go looking for tools and roms on Google, and don't be flashing stuff you found on some random web site.
Many, many people have successfully modded their One X phones. It's the careless people who have gotten in trouble.
And you can always downgrade your hboot...like the others have said the only people hard bricking this phone are the.ignorant people who are simply to lazy to do some research with the expensive phone in their hand. I dint get why someone wouldn't check everything out but whatever floats there boat
Whatever you do please don't search HTC one x. We are the HTC one XL and stay away from a ROM called Ice Cold Jelly. Stay away. Please and thank you

Last question. If I flash to jellybean rom or something else etc. Will I lose my beats audio feature?
If you go into fastboot, you will see it as well. If you have the att version HTC one xl(l for lte) version then you have evita.
yes you will lose beats audio. It is just software. It hardly makes a difference. I dont recommend flashing an AOSP rom or CM10 rom and such as the battery life is very very bad compared to sense roms

It's the One XL firmware number. If you were on the most recent version, 2.20, there is no current fix for your predicament. If you were on anything earlier, you may be able to unbrick using the method in the Unbricking Evita thread.
If he had an att one x and it was 4.03 it has to be lower than 2.20 the 4.04 update came with 2.20
