Its kind of difficult to understand your english. From what I understood, try putting the stock firmware in it again. Then try again

Hello Guys,
Excuse me I'm new here in the XDA forum, and I don't really know how to proceed.
Also excuse my english which is really bad and beginner
I have a Rogers - Samsung SGH -i896 which I've updated to froyo 2.2 with the AT&T firmware. the phone now appears as an AT&T i897 phone and at the rogers support they refused to help me correct it, and I have loads of problems including the impossibility to connect with Kies and back up contacts and all
I noticed that there was a 2.2 official stock and couldn't update it through the given firmware
anyone can help me through it?
thanks in advance
I wish to save my apps and my contacts in the phone also

See if that works for you. Are you using Kies or Kie's Mini??
Hi,
simple question I assume but I couldn't find an easy answer with Google:
In my family we have 2 Samsung Galaxy S2 phones, one is unbranded and the other is a locked one from Vodaphone.
On the unbranded one I installed the LiteningRom 3.2 and speedmod K19, all works perfectly and battery life is excellent.
Question is: can I also install this (or any other) custom rom on the Vodaphone branded Galaxy or will it brick the phone/make it unusable ?
Thanks in advance for your views.
Hi,
I'm fairly new to rooting, my galaxy S2 is locked to O2, I managed to root my device with no problems at all using ODIN. Just make sure u download the right rooting package for your firmware.
Yes you can! I've done it! My sg2 running a flawlessly rom now.

Thanks for the replies, I will give it a try.
Your phone being network locked, to the best of my knowledge, should have no effect whatsoever.
What you NEED to watch out for is whether or not your provider's network is GSM or CDMA. Don't try to flash a CDMA rom to a GSM phone, or vice versa.
And make sure to Nandroid Backup!(!!)
Hi I have a Galaxy SII SCH-R760. It is a non US Cellular version as I got it from my small town local phone provider. I had been reading about the SII being able to use ICS and wanted to update. However I accidentally pulled a stupid move and flashed it to the US Cellular firmware. Is there any way to get it back to stock firmware or is there at least a generic firmware I can install? The phone is not rooted and I would like to keep it that way for now if possible.
Thanks a million
Jon
not sure if i'm posting this in the correct area ... but anyways. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 portuguese vodafone and I have it unlocked and rooted.
Was thinking of upgrading the ROM to Sensation 4 but with my phone being unlocked will the flash work or just make my phone unusable??? can't really find an answer to this in the forum. If not possible witch the right Rom to be used and software necessary?
Original firmware ICS 4.0.4 - PDA I9100BULPG; CSCI9100TCLLP9.
Version Kernel:3.0.15.I9100XXLQ5-CL753921
