Hey all, does anyone happen to have a copy or a link to the Virtuous oc daemon by chance? I've tried like 6 different sites I got from Google & it ends up being an expired/bad file or it just flat out won't download it so I'm hoping someone has it. I'm trying to get away from Andrev oc. I've had so many problems with Andrev not sticking but the Virtuous oc always worked fine when Andrev didn't but I need another copy of it, thanks!

It's all good, we all help when we can. That's just another reason the Inspire sub-forum is one of the best on XDA.

Guy this question has been asked a thousand times with a thousand different answers. There is no top or stable ROM, they are ALL GREAT. Only what you feel best using and your needs of it. Try a few on for size and see what works for you and feels best for you. Coredroid for a stock look or absolution 3.7 for a no sense. But then these are my favorites but watch how many more responses you get till you get closed.

Look, I use my phone as a work phone (so I need an amount of stability), and I find aospx AR28 stable enough for a daily (that said, AR26 saw fewer freezes and reboots, food for though).
However, if you need camcorder, aospx (any ICS?) isn't for you.

Well lets start with congrats man on getting an Inspire. The Inspire community is awesome and there is a constant flow of great work being done by the amazing devs here. First, please search. I don't mean to come off as a jerk but it is part of the rules you agreed to when you signed up and literally if you searched "best rom" or "stable rom" you would most likely see what we have all been telling you and that is: There is no best stable ROM. Every ROM has its issues. What one person swears by another person won't. Only you know what you're willing to live with and live without. Try some ROMs out and see what works best. Here are my recommendations but they are by no means an all inclusive list of "best ROMs", just my personal preference.
Sense 3.5 = Bindroid
Basically stock = Cleardroid
AOSP/CM = Absolution
ICS = Redemption or Melchizedek
if i could stay on one rom long enough to find out if it's stable or not would be a great thing. stupid ROM A.D.D.

Don't forget cyanogen7.2 (newest release) for a wide variaty of customization.
Like others said before there are tons of roms in the developer section of the xda/inspire4g.
Welcome to the freedom of android. The best thing about rooting is the personalization. You can find just about any theme, os, app, or widget you can imagine.
Start with the ace hack kit, read the effin manual (that's what its called) do some reading on the available roms, download from the site or open up rom manager (if available) flash from rom manager.
Which ever rom you choose remember read the first post on the dev thread back and forth up and down. Once you do that...... read it again. All the important info you need for that rom is in the first post.
If you have questions on terms or what something is. Just Google said something followed by xda htc inspire 4g and you should find exactly what your looking for.

As stated none can tell you what rom will work best or be the most stable on your device and your set up. Even stock roms have bugs. It is just something you live with or dig in and try to fix when you own a smart phone.
Just pay attention to the OP of each thread and so the proper research and you will be fine.

I'm new to development of roms and I own an inspire and we don't have too many ICS roms in our section. I've ported a CM9 rom from desire so forum but the only major issue is I can't get sound working. It's pretty stable and stock with a few kang features. I just wanted to get you guy's insight of whether you'd like me to post it or not. I'm open to any ideas or suggestions!
I would love to try a cm9. As long as I can make and receive calls I can live without the sound.

I have camera fully working not vid recording yet.

Just another port of a chinese ROM. It only really stands apart from other chinese ROMS in a couple small things.
The main difference is that it is really not very customizable(eg you cannot move the app drawer icon from the right side of the dock, or edit any options available to most launchers).
I am guessing the author of the Rom is just trying to come up with something simple and clean.

looks like a good start, ill try it out when i learn chinese
lol.. The screenshots were taken from the chinese site. It's almost fully translated. The grouping option in the launcher is not fully translated. And the custom file manager app was not translated so I replaced it with the asop file manager..
Edit: Also removed the chinese app store and added gapps.

I haven't had a chance to play with an actual motoblur rom(even though I'm trying to port it), but it seems from screenshots/vids of motoblur that this ROM may be trying to emulate it a bit.

I never meant to ignore you, sorry if it came off that way. My phone has been busted and this was my last replacement shift. Anymore broken and I would have received an "equivelant device"... I'll be uploading my updated kernel source soon. Also, I can point any of y'all in the right direction about building/compiling sense kernels. Gtalk me drob311420. Good luck! Alright guys I don't have my phone running yet as of the moment but I already got a heads up from the team I ported this ROM from So for sense lovers there. I got something for you. Matt should know what ROM it is
Also a feature packed kernel for sense ROMs is already done. And I'm confident to say that it's alot better than virtuous kernel performance and battery efficient wise. Got a normal 4hours screen on time on my stock battery while it only took 2 hours on virtuous kernel
I'm also working something AOSP related to jb 4.2 but it's still not working and got halted when my phone broke so that should be my 2nd project after I get my device up and running again.
Regarding 1080p on ICS. It has been months now since I'm slowly working on this and up to this point the most I could get on 1080p recording is a 1080p video that can record already but most of the time it becomes black screen. Plus it hangs up the camera driver where it doesn't close and causes massive battery drain/heat on your device. I know this project is moving but there's way too much time spent and I don't have any other kernel developers to ask help with. So I'm not sure if I should continue with this or probably live with having 720p recording on doubleshot. I don't really need 1080p recording anyways since I rarely use my phone as a video recorder.
I will also be updating the TWRP recovery for doubleshot.
Regarding 4ext recovery madmaxx already gave me permission to post a port of his 4ext recovery so expect it coming also soon for doubleshot.

I've seen some of that slick kernel work you do & have no doubt that what you say is true AND a sense port to go with it is phenominal!! I'm dying to get to the point where I might actually take on a Sense port & actually suceed. (I'm especially anxious to see that 4Ext Recovery)
