Ok so I used the juopuntbear bear method to get s-off but now my Sd cards don't work. I know it wipes the Sd card but it doesn't work with my other one either. I tried using the adapter and the red light came on but the only thing that came up is that the USB mass storage device is safe to eject. Is it the room on my phone or the hboot etc ?

But the computer only picks it up as a temporary file thing and the only option is to eject it and nothing else. In the phone there's an option to format it but that just stays formatting for ages and does nothing.

OK here is what is happening, i have one sd card plugged into the computer using a sd card adapter but the computer ( running microsoft windows vista) only has the option to eject it, it does not pick it up in my computer and ive tried downloadnig some drivers but the same. The other sd card is in my phone plugged into the computer but it only says blank sd card, ive tried swapping around the sd cards but yet the same problems.
Can somebody please tell me what to do? I have no idea anymore.

No, I don't think it will. It should work. You can try re-formatting your SD card in a Linux Virtual Machine, though

Ok, so I had a HTC Thunderbolt with Verizon. I have had my 16GB Micro SD card for awhile. We switched to TMobile, placed my card into a LG G2X and WHAM! NOTHING! No phone will read it, my laptop or desktop won't read it. However the phones (old and new) and computers read the 2GB card T-Mobile sent with my Sensation.
I have photos and videos of my kids on the 16gb card and I am just beside myself that I have lost them....or so I think. Any advice or help someone can give me? Thanks!!
Also this card doesn't work in ANY phones and the computer doesnt even say there is a card...like it doesn't exist?

Sorry but i think your card is fu....up. Next time you better make a backup before you take out the card of your phone. Sometimes they die when you take them out. Don't know why it is like that but you are not the only one with this problem. There are some threads about this maybe somebody found a way to get your data back. Make a search here in XDA about "sd card problem" maybe you find something.
Good luck

If you have a custom recovery on your phone you can try this:
Put the card in your phone and boot into recovery.
Connect phone to PC open a command promt and type:
adb shell (press enter)
mount /sdcard (press enter)
cd sdcard (press enter)
ls (press enter)
If you can see the data on the card type:
exit (press enter)
Open a new command prompt and type:
adb pull /sdcard/ C:\sdcard\ (press enter)
Hope it works. If it doesn't work and you realy need your data back try to contact a data recovery company.

Did you encrypted your SD card using your phone? Setting>>security>>encrypted sc card
If yes, then that is the reason why other device can not read it. Its already locked to your device only.

It's not the original Sensation card (looks like 2GB) that's the issue. It's the 16GB that looks like it has the issue. Guessing it's a separate purchase.
@ryansgirl101302, Have you got a microSD card reader, if so what happens when you use that directly, ignoring any phones. If nothing else it should come back (on a PC) and say something like corrupted, Format Now ? DON'T DO THAT YET.
I had an issue on a SD card in the Sensation, that needed a full re-format, only switched the dammed phone off :-(( I've also had two other microSD cards that worked fine then complete and utter failure, PC/Linux/Phone all found it impossible to fix.
BTW was the 16GB, partitioned with an additional ext or just a single FAT partition.
Nothing reads it. It's like it doesn't exist. It's not the card reader because other ad cards read fine. The first time I put it in the gx2 from that point on not the g2x or anything could read it. It doesn't do anything. When in the phone the phone doesn't even know its in there.

As a previous post said, FU'd by the looks of it. The big microSD card failures i had were catastrophic failures, the mini one I had needed a reformat, which I did through CWM, and added a ext partition at the same time.
Sorry but I don't think I can help from here, others might but I'm out.

I have tried:
*Formatting
*Formatting to NTFS then back to FAT32
*Run through Memory scanner to check bad blocks. None
*Disabled all my startup programs and restarted on my pc to avoid files being used by them
*Use a different cable for data transferring from my phones micro sd to pc
*Format the SD on my phone
*Use alternative file copiers to copy files
Result:
After a format to ntfs and back to fat32 the first lot of files copy fine. after a while (3-4 hours) what happens is whatever file is copied onto my SD, it either dissapears or is corrupted once it is remounted on my Phone. Mounting it back onto the PC confirms this. Really frustrating me.
Any files copied through making my PC a local mediaserver also corrupt files after a few minutes.
Any suggestions as to what i can do as it really is bugging me a lot!
Thanks

It wont work on the sensation but it worked for me on an old phone about 5 years old minimum. Its worked for my friends as well..... otherwise if you couldn't do it this way or via computer then it wont be able to format, must be something else wrong with it, a good excuse to order a larger one as I see it

connect your phone to computer, Toggle USB mode in 4EXT Recovery, and your phone will act as a microSD card reader. You can do anything you want from there. =)

If the card cannot be mounted, both of these won't work.
Your best bet is to use a card reader & try different methods of connecting.
First put the SD Card in & then connect card reader, first connect card reader then put SD Card in, etc.
Usually, even a corrupted SD Card shows up on a PC.
If it does, use the format option. If "Windows was unable to format the drive", then go to Disk Management & format it from there.
If the PC is unable to detect it, then it's some kind of hardware fault & to the best of my knowledge, nothing will be able to fix that. All you can do is try wiping the contacts if they are dirty, but I doubt that would cause such a problem.
it will still work even if SD card cannot be mount.
Juopunutbear's S-OFF method sort of corrupted my SD card and i used Toggle USB mode method to format my SD card

A corrupted SD Card can still be mounted.
If the SD Card cannot be mounted in recovery, there is no question of trying to Toggle USB Storage or formatting it.
His case seems different.
wow i recover my files
hi guys, i had same problem, but then i set this sandisk ultra to my nokia xpress music and there was everything,,, my arc s cant open it anymore but nokia opens... try to reset your sd s to others phone...
I use 4EXT for my loader. If you have another loader you can try on that as well, boot into Recovery Mode and try to format the SD Card for there. 4EXT formatted my SD Card even though it couldn't mount it. Then it worked just fine.

Hi,
Yes, you will!
First copy all the sd card info onto your PC.
Format to FAT 32.
Put back your music,photos,saves,and backups(titanium,clockworkmod,etc.)
Then, put the card in the phone, and Android will put on the files it needs.
Could someone please explain how to do this process. Thanks!!!

I assume you mean how to copy all the files....
I think you are using 4EXT recovery from other posts (correct me if I'm wrong).
Boot into recovery (because the USB transfer speeds are faster than CM10 that I think you are using)
connect your phone to your computer via USB
mount USB storage, create a new folder on your computer desk top
select all files and folders from the SD card and drag and drop them into the new folder on your desk top that you just created
wait about 10-15 minutes for it to complete
format SD card from the computer
Copy all your files back to the SD card the same way
wait another 10-15 minutes
boot the phone and your apps should find all their related data right where they left it
So basically if I was to format my sd card without backing up or saving anything I would just lose all my downloads that are on my sd card and my sd card will be completely clean. Is this all correct.and I will lose everything that I have backed up on titanium back up as well? Thanks in advance!!!

Yes sadly you will loose everything! I just went through this process myself with a new 64 sd card.I wish you the best. I simply formatted in recovery but I had to pull battery to get to recovery otherwise it said sd card needed to get to recovery.until I formatted it wouldn't recognize my sd card. Once I formatted it was recognized .

I have this same annoying problem. Some post I read suggested going back to S-on again (because he postulates that the problem is as a result of improperly executing S-off). I am using the Stock ICS (OS 2.3 and firmware 3.0) and I would love to update to the latest one but this SD card problem won't let me (because the phone won't download without the sd card).
