Hi all ive been looking around and haven't found an answer yet so when i turn my phone screen off and i press the volume up and down 2-3 times in a row it gives me a vibration and i can turn my screen back on and use my phone normally..
What does it do ??
Also has anyone saw a difference in battery life between gb and ics ?? I just get horrible battery life ... Standby is great but screen on time sucks..
35 min screen on time down to 65% from 100% some people have crazy battery life so far ive tried :
-Faux Kernel
- Bricked Kernel
-Sebastianfm Kernel
-Discharge Phone To 0% and charge back to 100% and wipe battery stats didn't work...
- Battery Calibrator didn't do much neither ...
-Tried many many roms from sense to ics and miui ...
- I do not Have a overheating issues..
Im Really Desperate about battery life can anyone help me out..
Thanks.

What kind of total screen on time do you get? I can get about 2.5 to 3.5 hours screen on time with either ICS or GB. Apparently, that's the norm.
Also, get an Anker or ChiChiTech 1900mAh battery. About 30% increase.

Nooo don't use 3.12 firmware... It's. Not compatible with most of custom ROMs... 3.12 is a gb firmware.. But somehow its working with ordroid... That's all if you tried to run any other custom rom with 3.12 you'll have bootloops

As for battery get an anker one... I get 4 hrs 15 min screen time and tot of 15-18 hrs time...
For better battery results you need to let rom/kernel settle a little.. For rom/kernel to settle you need to do atleast 3 complete charge cycles.. First cycle do a wipe of battery stats

I've run Cyanogen ROMS, Senseay, InsertCoin, and ARHD. I'm a pretty heavy user I would say, I get up at 6:00 in the morning, and my battery is usually dead by the afternoon if I don't charge it. To me the roms all seem the same as far as battery life is concerned. Anybody have input as to what roms have given you great battery life, any apps you have that help or what you do it improve battery life?
Thanks
Buy another battery? Im a heavy user and i get about 8/9 hrs. Lasts all day with moderate usage.

I've read a little somewhere about other batteries people buy for the sensation. Any ideas as to what those batteries are?
try miui! perfect battery life!
With light to moderate use on the newest ARHD ICS 5.0.2, I am still sitting on 55% battery life.. and i've been off the charger for 27 hours now using the anker 1900mAh battery. Make sure you match recommended radio's and rils.
Its the banker 1900 math battery. Its really good. My battery usually lasts between 12-21 hours.. i love it

Anker, Mugen, and Chichitec are the companies to buy from.
You can also buy an EVO 3D battery cause it's the same physical size but it's 1730mAH.

Any numbers on the drainage while on standby? May flash a miui rom soon if battery is really that good.

Mind telling me which MIUM ROM version you're running? I've never run MIUI and from what I see there is only one am I right? Most recent version is 1.12.23. If I run that with kernal 1.6 I should have great battery life? I'm not doubting you I'm actually really interested to try this, just want to make sure I get the same configuration as you have to see if I can get similar results. Thanks for the reply.
Also I have the normal sensation 4G not the XE, I noticed the bricked kernel V1.6 says XE, is that problematic with my phone or should I use V1.5?
I must say that ICS4.0 gave me much metter batt.life! im using ARHD 4.0.2 and using stock battery. batterylife is now better then stock ROM (android 2.3.4)
really think you should give it a try. (new firmware will give it even better i think, havent tried)
Try to wipe battery stats.

I tried most of the Rom Energy is the best for sense Rom. For no sense use miui but make sure do not install any launcher use the launcher come with miui.
If u r keen on sense Rom then make sure you have minimum widget running on home screen they r battery draining, try juice defender from market. Turn off auto update. Live wall paper will drain more battery as well.

Hit the report button on the right side.
CoreDroid, there are reports of well over 48 hours on light/medium use
Sense-o-Maniac ROMs are working great for me. Or at least the gingerbread versions.
I am still hooked on ENERGY, it is stable, fast and the battery lasts the whole day and that is good because I am a Power User and with stock ROM I was down to 25-30% battery by 11:30 in the morning.
It is Gingerbread, but the Chef is working on ICS now
the ARHD 6.2.1 use 70ma in average in idle (measured with battery monitor)
We could compare the values in idle to start à comparison between roms
its difficult to say,
it depends on your usage of your phone
and its not only the rom, with other kernels and oc/uv deamons you are able to extend the battery life more
for my self, im using elegancia 2.3 and get about 55mA in idle
but thats with set-cpu-profiles and the SebationFM#1 kernel

hey can anyone else show me their battery life with bruces cm10??
hey guys! so i have an htc sensation one year 4 months old and the battery life is kinda " crappy " .
i charge it when i'm asleep and it goes from 100 to 85 in almost 5 min .. and if i continue to use it (heavy use) it can live up to 3 hours max !!
is that normal ??
or should i buy a new stock htc sensation battery or maybe u could recommend me a good battery that last longer ?
waiting for ur answers ^_^
P.S: i live in sweden ..
no it is not normal
you should definitely get a new battery
try to buy Anker or Mugen batteries
they last quite longer
Like the guy said above; buy an Anker 1900mah battery from amazon.com. Will give you roughly 20% extra mileage on stock. Also from my experience with this phone the ROM and kernel also impacts battery life. For the best battery life use the badass governor on battery saving setting and set the cpu between 192-1086mhz. As I don't game heavily and just heavily text, call, browse it lasts me a full day with brightness on lowest.

thank you for the reply , i use bruce's cm 10 with his kernel. and i don't game at all i can say .. but it's just the battery that sucks .. one question does amazon ship to sweden ?
Edit: just bought one from uk amazon thank you guys really

I would reset the phone and buy a new an OEM battery. You can use the 1730mAh battery from a Sensation XE(check eBay). I wouldn't recommend an aftermarket battery, since they are of lower quality that HTC made batteries.

Damn Boi, I'll look into my 2450mha (said to work perfectly, and fit under original cover.) and Continue using CM.
I get 3 days easily on albino's cm10.1 aosp rom. With an banker battery.
So the ROM isn't the problem. We have hashed battery life questions to death in the ROM's development thread and the answer always comes back to user settings or faulty hardware, usually the battery is just old.
But battery life does NOT suck on all non sense ROMs. That is just bad information.

Good, Lets get You that Information then.
The device is an Fourteen month old Sensation XE, with that 17xx Battery.
I bought it two weeks ago Used but Just as new, Not even Tiny pocket scratches.
It was Pre-rooted and s-off using the Wiretrick by the Preowner.
Its now Running Albino's CM10.1, (03~05).
My CPU is Clocked at 15xxMhz and 398 Min I believe,
GPU's and stuff Aren't Changed. Its on the Ondemand Governor and SIO I/O Thingy.

I Go from Home Charged Everyday, with an HTC Certified dock,
I get from the countryside into the city and Jump onto 3g, the battery stays for a five minutes on "Charged" and jumps down to 95-80-7x and Finally 65 where it takes a little break, that goes in well, an half hour. Then i mostly get really Upset and angry at HTC and Cry out to my Friends with better phones telling how **** mine is, Now i'll get my replacement Batteries and see, I'll instantly report here how they all each Did.

Your battery is old. That's probably the problem. Use the Banker battery when you get it. That's the sollution. Also you are clocking the CPU pretty high. If you dont have a specific reason to run it at 1.5ghz as the max like gaming or something, back it off to like 1.2.

Do not waste your time with this. This is snake oil nonsense. Wiping battery stats has a function, but this isn't it. Wiping battery stats will do nothing to help your battery life. Nothing.
The battery stats are wiped every time it charges anyway.

Yes. Its high.
If you have a specific need for it to be that high, go ahead. That's 1.5 is what the chip is designed for. It can handle it. At 1.7 you are pushing it pretty hard.
But those speeds won't do anything to improve the performance of everyday use like sending texts, making calls, or even in games like angry birds. Ifnyounplay more graphically intensive games, those speeds will be helpful. If you don't they are a waste of battery. Either way though they are using more battery at those speeds, whether you needs those speeds or not.
Backing it off to 1.2 will prevent the device from 'kicking on the afterburners' and dumping battery fast when its at max CPU. Again, if your performance suffers then this isn't the answer for you.
You will also want to use the on demand or badass governors to keep the clock speed regulated. An governor like Performance will keep the CPU running at top speed all the time. The phone will run great, but the battery will die in a hurry.

Well if you need the extra performance then you need it. But the trade off is always going to be decreased battery life with that. Nothing can fix that. Its not a bug, its physics. It takes more gas to go fast.

+1. If you take a look at the manual of your battery, it will say something like "500 recharge cycles over the life of the battery" (this is from the ANKER 1900mAh).. that's around 1,5 - 2 years of use. So depending on how often the previous owner of your Sensation charged the phone, the battery could be dead now.
New Battery
Instead of an "Anker" i got an Pisen Battery, said to have around 1780mha but actually is 1870. It works Perfectly and i get six hours screen on time now. it just still goes weird, and sometimes stays on 72 for long and 39 for long, but works just fine still. Just not a really reliable Percentage. I get to test 3g time tomorrow. Hopefully more than one a half hour and burning hands.
