Yes it will run off of that. here is the official download site for it. Do you know what Daemon lite is? If not here is the official download link to that. Just install Daemon free and than choose the thing to restart your computer than download ubuntu and double click it and run it from the mount. This may not be too good to explain but if you have any further questions just ask me.

Thanks to the efforts of LinuxBozo many of us are able to enjoy CM 7 on our Infuse 4G devices. All credit for this goes to LinuxBozo (and those listed in his post). I simply took the source from his ROM and compiled/uploaded it to make it more accessible. This is all done with permission from LinuxBozo.
I will be uploading newly compiled ROMs from source once a day, but this is NOT to be considered a nightly ROM as it isn't being built by the CM buildbot. The daily compiles of this ROM are not each individually tested, so your mileage may vary.
Each daily build will be archived and available to download.
Download:
List of All Builds:
Code:
http://stevemorrissey.com/android/roms/infuse4g/CM7/
Google Apps: Download Here if you don't want to install the Google Apps from Rom Manager (as per the directions)
Directions for flashing:
If you have a RED CWM :
Ensure you have both root and CWM. If you don't, see below.
Copy ROM .ZIP to SD card
Shut phone off. Hold Vol Up + Vol Down and Power on device
Flash CM7 zip
Reboot. You will get stuck at Samsung screen. This is normal.
Pull battery, and reboot into recovery (Hold: VOL+ VOL- Power)
You should now be in ORANGE -OR- BLUE CWM
Go to "mounts and storage"
select format /system
Reflash CM7 zip (NOTE: don't forget gapps as well, you can get the gapps easily using Rom Manger -> Download ROM -> Scroll down to Google Apps)
Reboot into CM7 goodness, made possible by LinuxBozo
Rooting and installing ClockworkMod
Got root? If not, please see THIS VIDEO or simply download, install, and run SuperOneClick
To get CWM on your device, please see THIS THREAD
Additional Items
If you want the clock (as seen in the screenshot below) install mClock then follow the simple steps in this post

Its 97MB, and its a non-TouchWiz ROM without the Google Apps bundled in, there is no reason for it to be large. TouchWiz/Sense/MotoBlur add a lot of bulk for stock ROMs.
93Mb is about right. Small because there is no unnecessary bloatware.

The issue I had with MIUI was not stability as in crashing, but with signal. My device seemed to constantly lose its data connection in moderate signal areas, and it would take 15-30 seconds to reestablish a connection. I don't experience such issues with this CM rom.

I'll give that a try.
Note that the Infuse 4G is currently my only Android device, but I am getting a Sensation today and a Nexus S shortly. That means that since I'll have a backup Android device I will be able to test the daily builds on my handset first to ensure it works properly (or at least installs properly, I won't test most features out).
I currently have a Blackberry Torch for backup, but since the data packages aren't interoperable I need to call AT&T to have my data plan switched every time my Android device is out of commission due to ROM issues.
Good job and thanks for this. I'd probably link gapps in the OP just so people don't flood the thread with "where is my market?!?!"
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for loss, damages or any other kind of issue that can arise from installing this ROM.
I'm not into overclocking + heavy Themes so I make my own Roms. Once I feel comfortable I post it (Removing all possible bugs). Like most of us, I like Mod's and extras. Thanks to all the dev's who worked on Mod's.
I'm sure some of you wanted something like this... I hope u enjoy. and yes everything works (GPS with CWM on Boot etc). I will be out of country for a month starting tomorrow. So ur on ur OWN. Guys please help each other. Thanks.

One thing I'd like to know about Bravia Engine: did you have to do anything to port it or did a ported version from another device work on the A2?

EDITED- BEST ROM EVER. The issues I had must have been something weird. Bad download, shady install... I don't know. What I do know is the second time I installed this ROM its working beautifully. Appologies to the Dev. You obviously took your time with this. Great work! This is the first ROM I've used where I actually like the stock launcher. This ROM is very battery friendly and everything I've tryed so far works as advertised. Including CWM on boot + GPS.
Thank you Googler_1976! Very nice work!

On the positive side... I like the notification screen, phone pad dialer, the whole system seems very smooth and quick. I might take another look at this when I have more time. Thanks for your efforts! You will make a lot of people happy with this.

Thanks for the sequence on the Play Store. I'll give that a try next time I install this.

I think I like enough tor use. Couple things... Google play store keeps force closing. I deleted cache and data and I'm getting force closes still. I repaired permissions as well. CWM on boot doesn't appear to be working. Not sure why. Is the lockscreen supposed to have an almost double image of a lock and unlock? Seems like it shouldn't? Keyboard is throwing up weird images of keys and freezing spuratically. Sorry for my spelling.

Had to cancel download so I haven't been able to download and flash yet so I don't know about the lockscreen or keyboard. However, I know that the market/play store will FC if you flash /system without clearing data... to fix it just clear cache+data, uninstall updates, then leave it open for a minute or two to update.
How do you make roms? Do u use the android kitchen? Im interested in making (yet another) rom for the a2

This should be of some help to you.
I want to say that I did not create this file. I just helped facilitate a speedy delivery of this file because I reached out to a dev friend so he could help us.
This single .apk file is intended for folks that are stock/rooted and want to get by with as many tweaks as possible without flashing a ROM or Theme. I know their are plenty of peeps out there that are just fine with being rooted only... hopefully this will add to your enjoyment of a nearly bone stock rom.
**Before you do anything make a backup of your framework-res.apk file which is located in system/framework**
**If you are on a themed rom, using this framework-res.apk will remove most of your theme and place you back to stock look**
**Rom devs and themers will need to take this framework-res.apk and add it to their themes and roms** (or decompile and create their own)
Credits:
Nitroglycerin33 for compiling and editing framework-res.apk
Electron73 for delivering the knowledge to our forum
Confirmed working on Stock OTA VRLG1
How to install:
Option A:
-Download the framework-res.apk to your C:\ drive or whatever folder you like on your PC.
-Mount your system folder on your phone as read/write
-Then push it via adb to your phone. Reboot. Profit
Option B:
If you don't feel comfortable using adb commands you can use root explorer and copy the framework-res.apk over to system\framework\ which will overwrite the existing framework file. This will cause your phone to freeze up immediately. Give it 2 minutes then simultaneously press the volume up + volume down + the power button until it goes into safemode. Once in safemode your phone will start responding. You can then reboot at this point which will automatically boot you out of safe mode. If you can't seem to get it into safe mode just yank the battery. I tested it this way to see if it works and it does. No harm done to the phone. I would make a back up of your framework-res.apk before doing this.

for the record I am using your stock rom and loving it. Feel free to use this apk if you need to. Not sure what would be easier, applying your themes to this apk or taking your existing themed apk and editing decompiled xml's. My guess is the latter if you know how to decompile and you can use notepad++. What apk tool do you use? Can you link me?

I already had done this mod before your guy posted one, I just had gone out to wash my car while I had time and he got it up before me. Either way it is a rather easy mod.
If I can even find the link to the apks tool I am using again I sure will. It has two apktool.jar files. One is 1.4.2 for decompiling and one is 1.4.3 for recompiling.

heres what i did. download the file. go to root browser and paste it to framework overwrite > yes
Good to have this mod published. Loving being able to use the native app despite VZW's attempt to thwart.
So, I tried pushing via adb but kept getting Read-only file system. So, tried adb remount and got Operation not permitted.
Anyway, I ended up using Root Explorer. Then, instead of pulling battery I tried a key combo: hold down Power and Volume +- at the same time for a few seconds and got in to Safe Mode; then just rebooted. That was cool cause I didn't want to have to pull the battery.
Thanks for posting guys.
Do I have to be on a rom to use this or can I just be stocked rooted?
Can you please post the changes needed in the framework apk, so anyone ca make the changes?

Stock rooted is what you need to be on. The Latest OTA to be exact. Match your rom version with the one in orginal post :highfive:
This is a cool app to mod the framework on Android.
Adds cool animations and Transparent popups.
It backs up the changed files and created a flash-able zip of the backed up files and the modified files.

Just a last question that I have seen that app backups old framework & make a zip file itself. Whether that zip file is properly flashable on our phone through our recovery OR do we have to saperately create proper flashable zip file???

The files are created on the internal sd. It is flash-able without any modifications.
Hey cool app.works perfectly in my cm9 alpha 10
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda app-developers app
It's a cool app. I used it last week.. Found it pretty unstable.
But the good thing is all changes are reversible since it backs up the current framework first. Harmless to try.

Ya ganesh. Its unstable sometimes. When I choose option create flashable zip file then app gets hang sometime. After waiting for long time I have to kill it & then suddenly phone gets restarted.

I never had this problem, else I would have warned on the OP.
I made a couple of flash able zips, non posed a problem. Are you using CM9?

It needs to be flashed in CWM, so yes, you need root.
Good work, fma965, we've needed something like this for a while. Now maybe we'll have less of the "I've accidentally deleted ______.apk but I need it back!"

Thanks. lol whats up with your signature? it's true though.
But can't we just use TB for something like that?? Plus with TB we can backed up individual app that we want to remove/un-install. Just in case we want it back we can just simply restore it back. So my Q is what's so special bout using this?? Its there something u didn't or forgot to mention?? Just curious, really.
Kindly Hit Thanks Button if i've help u in anyway.

i dunno, i guess so lol. i made this cause someone wanted a lightweight rom and i couldn't be bothered to make a lightweight rom so i made this script that removes the same stuff i remove but also gives you option to uncheck something you may want to keep.

Some people (noobs) get in trouble using TB, or would prefer a quicker way of doing it. Personal preference, I suppose. Besides, in the Android community, having more options is always better.

Yay! Thanks! Will root tommorow! Btw do i have to clean the phone? Btw2: How i will be able to install gin2jb? Can i unroot and go to stock rom? Sorry for being offtopic
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
hey well what do you mean clean the phone? no wiping is needed
Just download the rom and then use the clockwork mod for locked bootloaders (sorry my bootloader is unlocked so i dunno)
I suggest true ancenstor instead of Gin2JB but it depends on what you want it for.
o and yeah you can go back to stock by either unrooting or by flashing the stock FTF file via flashtool
