Quick Question about ICS++ Xperia Play - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I have recently flashed the Advanced Stock Kernel from DooMLoRD and also the ICS++ Rom. I was just wondering, even though it comes with the AOSP Theme preloaded, is there a way to update the Rom so that I can have the on screen buttons as well? Many thanks, Bill.

Great app indeed.!
Yes, I totally agree! Did you find a solution already,?
I tried the same as you and didn't succeed either.
I also like the Miui contact app. Would be great if some Miui developer could help us out.
I'm interested to know why default Miui apps don't always (or always don't) work on non Miui roms...
(im I'm on xperia arc s with camp rom, includes Miui skinning)

[Q] Official MIUI or custom MIUI (ie WIUI)?

Hey guys,
I have flashed an ICS ROM 3 days ago, but it doesn't really work that well it was my first custom ROM I flashed in my life
But I decided to try MIUI. So I found this guy called Wajk, and he made this ROM called WIUI. My question to you guys is, can I expect the same (or even better) of a custom MIUI ROM as an official one? And even more important: Will I get the weekly updates?
Maybe some of you have had expierences with custom MIUI ROMs, should I choose the official MIUI ROM or a custom one?
Thanks guys!
P.S. Hope I'm doing this right, first time here on XDA for a long time
You'll get weekly updates if the developer updates his/hers rom every week, and you flash it again every time. But this is unlikely.
I'm myself using a custom MIUI rom, and I love it. Only problems are the built-in screenshot app doesn't work, and the Extended Settings app works neither.
Anyways, it is worth at least trying. Frankly, I think this is the best rom for my phone. All kinds of themes and lockscreens work.

I updated my xperia pro from the default 2.3 to ics 4.0.4 and now it is very slow. I backup all my data, and did a hard reset (and ics was the default after it), but it is now the same. why is it?

I read somewhere that resetting to factory configuration solves some lag problems, but overall stock ICS rom is just that slow.
My xperia pro has a locked bootloader, so custom rom options are minimal, however I recommend Ice Cream Pureness, I use that one and it is waaaaay faster and smooth than stock ICS rom, I'm very happy with it.
There's also Jelly Sandwich... I've read it's even faster... gotta try that one next month maybe.
If your phone has an unlockable bootloader, your choices are way better... and faster since you can actually flash it a better kernel. Search through Arc S forum (xperia pro does not have own forum section so we're there)

[Request] - DoCoMo Statusbar

I Recently bought my Xperia L, and, for now, I do not see the need to use a custom ROM or another kernel, than Stock. However, there is a feature in the Xperia L Clean 'n' Tweaked ROM I would love to have in my stock ROM! (Stock Rom with Stock Kernel, but with unlocked bootloader, deodexed rom and rooted phone).
- Docomo Status Bar (SystemUI) with integrated Honami ToolSettings (toggles all working) -> Link from Xperia Z forum DoCoMo Status Bar v8 & Task Switcher
I've searched in the Themes and Apps session on the Xperia L subforum, but, didn't find nothing! (Sorry if I've missed)
I appreciate if someone can help.
Thank's in advance

Just take a look at Clean 'n' Tweaked rom thread, and read its features!

Yeah...i saw all the features there, and more's coming! Great job there serarj
But! I just don't want to get the same way that I've had with my last Xperia (Neo V). Getting updates almost every week, and sometimes...full wipe needed!
I just want to chill now! My Xperia L has "almost" all the things I want, except that StatusBar!
Thanks anyway.

No AOSP Roms?

Hello there, i've just bought a Xperia XA and i'm really appreciating it. The only lack that i found is the fact that the dev community is almost empty.
I don't like SONY system at all, i'm coming from a Nexus and i'd like to install a pure android rom. Is there a way to do it? And, another question: i've read few threads about TWRP, why installing a custom recovery if there isn't any rom available? Thanks a lot

The xa isn't part of the open devices programme being a mediatek powered xperia so there is no aosp/aosp based roms, I think Sony's Android skin is the best available far nicer than stock nexus.
Why wouldn't you want a custom recovery like twrp if you only have a rooted device the two to hand in hand in my eyes whether it's stock based or a custom rom..
Sent from my Xperia XA using XDA Labs

Hi, you right there is no dev here I'm trying to make a correct "device tree" and "vendor tree" sources to make some rom, it's hard for me because I'm not a dev and I'm working alone.
TWRP is for rooting the device
It may be a cold shower for you if you come from a Nexus lol.
